HP6 was spectacular! The only thing that I disliked was the fact that they did omit quite a few important things from the book. If I hadn't read the book, I would have found it rather confusing, however I am biased and a huge Potter fan so the movie is excellent. =)

I loved the movie, although I was disappointed that the director did not capture the essence of the book as well as the previous Harry Potter movies. A lot of the plot was left out, so you were left wondering where the scenes were going and what was really the story line. The ending should have had me bawling my eyes out (like the book did), but it didn't. The best part of the movie was the actors. They were awesome as usual, and the visual effects were breathtaking. If the director had done better with the storyline, I would have given it 5 stars.

This was a good Harry Potter Movie, though I still prefer the 4th one because of the sheer amount of action scenes. The end was shortened a great deal to meet time requirements, but it excluded a large fight scene which disappointed me. It does focus more on the romantic-comedy aspect of the book which was ok if you like that sort of stuff. What did truly upset me about the movie is that even though it was titled "The Half Blood Prince", the prince made a couple of short appearances throughout the movie and then when all the suspense of discovering the prince reaches its peak point, the identity is revealed in a very monotonous boring manner. I still enjoyed it, and I recommend fans to go see it. Just don't hold your expectations TOO high.

My husband, two teenage kids and myself really looked forward to this movie. As much as I'd like to say it was great...it just wasn't. This movie was slow and hard to follow - if I didn't know the book I would've been totally lost. We all agreed that it included scenes that were boring and unneccesary while leaving out things far more crucial. Ultimately I think they needed two movies for this book. We left the theater feeling "flat". I would have never thought that I would not recommend seeing a HP movie but I'd pass on this one.

The 2 and a half hours flew by. The ending, to me, had no closure as previous Harry Potter movies did. I was waiting for "to be continued" to be flashed on the screen :-) But I still very much enjoyed the movie and would not hesitate to recommend.

When a movie is made from a book, there is always something that needs to be cut out. For the most part it's small stuff. However, in this movie we lost a lot. How did Dumbeledore get Marvolo Gaunt's ring?(which is a major plot point in the book). We don't see Harry explain the Horcruxes to his friends, which takes away some good scenes. We also miss Dumbledore's funeral. On to the good stuff. The Hermoine & Ron Chemistry is finally revealing itself, and you internally cheer for these two. The same can be said for Harry and Ginny. Tom Felton is finally given a chance to play some other sides of Malfoy, which he does well. the teenage angst/love/rivalry storyline reminds us that these are kids..who just happen to be wizards.

My 12-year-old companions all agreed that certain elements should not have been left out of this movie. However, as it's already 2.5. hours long, it's obvious why that had to be done. Tone of the movie is not nearly as dark as that of the book; in fact, fighting evil almost seems to be secondary much of the time, and if you hadn't read the book, you'd wonder about Harry's decision at the end. But, if you loved the books, will the movies EVER be good enough?

Very good movie. Great interaction between the actors. Some great fun moments ex Herm hitting Harry on the head. Sad about Dumb. getting killed. This was easily the best of the movies so far. The whole tone of the movie is perfect, this director is my favorite. The liberties taken with the plot actually make sense for the viewers who haven't read the books but are still enjoyable for those of us who adored the book. This movie followed along with the books pretty well, even though some spots in the film went a bit overboard on the story. Special effects were awesome, especially when Dumbledore and Harry retrieve the false horcrux, and Dumbledore does the spell with the fire.

Overall the movie was very enjoyable. I don't know why some directors feel the need to change the movie adaption unecessarily. Also with this movie and the last there was no feeling for Dumbledore, I didn't care that he died or that he had to drink the potion.
Why did they make Snape look like a rock-star with flowing clean hair? Snape's intentions were too obvious as to what he did at the end.

I was disappointed. The previous movies followed the books very well, this one went way away from the book. If I had never read the book, the movie would have been great, however, I am a true fan of the books and having read The Half-Blood Prince three times, I was disappointed with the movie. I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan. I got hooked when my nephews were reading them.
I have been thoroughly impressed with all the movies up till now. Each movie had it's minor modifications but remained close to the original story line with the exception of this movie.
I found the directors/producers took too many liberties in rewriting some of the scenes and in doing so left out some important background information. This caused the movie to be very segmented for me.
I think we would have all liked to have had a longer movie that allowed the story line to remain intact.

I was worried I was getting sick of the Harry Potter series but this movie was FANTASTIC!! It was unexpectantly funny and the story line really moved along. The ending was to be expected but overall the movie was worth seeing and I will probably see it again this weekend!

FIlled with more humor than we've seen in the last few "Potter" films, this movie earns it's more family-friendly PG rating. Yes, it's different from the book, but that's to be expected. Instead, it's a well-thought-out retelling of this 6th chapter, and true afficionados will appreciate the loyalty to characters and the general theme. Even Gambon's Dumbledore seemed more like the books' wise and gentle wizard. Of course, true love is well-played here; sweetly, and without anything inappropriate. Of special note is the sadness and fear that trying to become "evil" brings to Draco. All in all, a more human, yet truly magical movie than we've seen since the first installment. My kids were, well, SPELLBOUND. And, frankly, so was I.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Of course, this was a good move...It just wasn't an 'Awsome' one...But then again, I exepected that. The book was the same way.
This movie is sort of a hopping stone to cary on into the rest of the story. They could have just made it a little more ineresting during the main story line instead of just having the best part of it towards the end.

The movie could not live up the hype, i was disappointed by the lack of excitment and interest. It seemed as though they went more for humor, but failed. I found myself bored during most of the movie. Maybe it's not their fault, maybe the book just didn't give them much to work with, i'll have to reread the book to see

"Half-blood Prince" is easily the most humorous of the six Harry Potter movies. It is hampered slightly by an ending that seemed anticlimactic, but is still exceptionally enjoyable.
