Remarkable and dazzling piece of film and outdoes all previous installments of the franchise (which it must). If you're into technical filmmaking, the sound editing and action sequences are a feast for the senses. As is the Tumbler bike! That is one of the coolest iconic pieces of machinery I have ever seen. I also liked Maggie Gyllenhaal's eyes, gave her character the depth that has notoriously been lacking in the story. Heath Ledger's performance was haunting and in scenes w/out him I desperately wanted for him to get back on screen. The effects used to create Harvey Dent's face were pretty bold. I applaud all efforts and ambition that went into this film. It was a lot to pull off and, by and large, it worked beautifully.

I could go on and on about what made this not only my movie of the year but of the last several years. However, I just suggest you not make excuses and go and see it. Even if you aren't a particular fan of the genre there is just too much to enjoy here. The only problem I might have with the movie is that its just too much without hardly any breaks. The drama, action, and comedy are all well blended and used to full effect, but there isn't any time to reflect. And this is a long movie. With a bit of writing, it almost could have been two movies. But, the camera is always moving and you are continually blasted with new information. All I'm really trying to get at though is, use the restroom and then hold on tight because this adventure is completely worth it.

WOW!!! Heath Ledger was so ON with the JOKER! You're watching it and it's what you would of thought the Joker to be all along! Christian Bale was excellent, also. If there is a person in America that hasn'tt seen it yet, get to the theater for this mega blockbuster!!!!!!!!!!!! yeahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

I really need to go and see it again..Just in case I missed some of the subtle gestures, or glimpses, passed between the actors to each other, letting us, the audience pick up on what was about to happen..there were many, and many I am sure I missed with the first viewing.But definately worth seeing again. Just for the enjoyment of the quality of the acting. Heath stole the movie!

I found the film entertaining but Heath Ledger's performance thou quite good I don't think an oscar worthy performance. A lot of hype surrounds this film due to ledgers untimely death, if he had lived would we be giving such great attention to this film?

Christopher Nolan has gotten the science of Batman down to a tee. Heath Ledger as the joker is a force to be reckoned with and portrays him with such glee and anarchy. The cast is stellar and the movie is oscar worthy in every category. Batman is back.

This movie was a real work of art. It was amazing how the film balanced real emtion while still maintaining superhero thrills. Heath Ledger deserves all the praise he is getting, His work was on par with Anthony Hopkins for creepy villians. Amazing film all around.

This was an incredibly complex, visual, and emotional movie. So much grittier and deeper than the typical superhero movie that at times one forgets that it is a superhero movie.Highly recommended!
The performances of the actors were really quite good, with Heath Leadger shining the brightest. However, I feel that all credit goes to the director and other filmakers who constructed and developed a superb gritty action/drama.
Of note, this movie was quite violent and intense, with most of the violence being felt viscerally rather than seen. Thus, it is not for the small kids.
Spoilers: The filming in Chicago made Gotham feel like a current & real city; providing authenticity to the whole movie. It was also fascinating how every main character was placed on different places on the moral spectrum; giving it an added complexity.

Ledger's acting is in a class with the all time greats and gives a performance on par with Brando and other legends. The movie on its own is the best comic book movie ever beating Batman Begins and Iron Man, and Spiderman 2 which is no easy feat. However, with the performance of the Joker it goes into the territory of one of the best movies ever. Eckhart gives quite an emotional performance as well and should not be overshadowed by Ledger and the performance should receive the praise it is due.

Great special efftects, topped with excellent acting. My friends told me that Heath did a better job at playing the Joker then Jack Nicklason..I did not believe them. Boy was I wrong. Heath by far has done the best job out of any movie I have seen this year and should be commended for it with an oscar. It a damn shame he died and can't see the hell of a job he did!

Riveting performances with many twists. Although some schemes or outcomes were predictable, this film still kept you in and on the edge of your seat. Had me wondering how it got a PG-13 rating though. A bit too heavy for under 17, I would think. Definitely worth a trip to the big screen!!!

I had read several reviews and was aware that this was not a comic book movie for kids. The surprise for me was the great job done by EVERYONE. Ledger of course was superb but the rest of the cast deserve solid recognition. Plus the plot and visuals were great. I plan to spend another $10 to see it again.
