They really did an amazing job with this much anticipated sequel to Batman Begins. The only element I missed from the first was the in-depth sotrytelling of Begins. But, let's face it - most would probably rather just have the action. The Bat-Pod did not disappoint - just wish there had been more. The Joker played an excellent villian against the upstanding nature of Batman. And, as it should be, Batman remains as moral as ever. Great movie!

This movie was a masterpiece. Perfectly acted, an exciting movie that picks up a year following Batman Begins. Petty criminals are in fear of Batman, and there is an agressive DA who is going aftet the mob. I liked the movie but it was much stronger than the first one, violence-wise. This movie is all about Joker and very little about Batman. Batman is very emotional, which he usually isn't. The thing with the two-face at the end is pretty graphic and gross.

one of the best movies i have ever seen. Heath Ledger played an incredible joker and Christian Bale played a decent batman. The only part that made me upset is when the Lamborghini gets destoyed i almost cried.

I usually get dragged to these super-hero movies by my husband and daughter. I usually sleep through most of them. This movie actually has a plot and kept my interest. Heath Ledger's performance was outstanding.
The only con I found was that it is a very long movie.

A colossal improvement over an already solid first film, “The Dark Knight” is not just a great superhero film but a great crime drama as well. The special effects are well done and the cinematography is dizzying. The acting, especially by Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart, is top notch; Ledger’s Joker is an absolute terror and one of the most amazing onscreen performances that I’ve ever seen. This movie comes highly recommended to anybody who enjoys a great superhero movie, a great crime film, or just great movies in general.

Fantastic! Top notch acting all around, though I never do like to see an actor/actress replaced mid-franchise, but Maggie did a good job. The show was stolen by the villians, especially The Joker, but the short screen time by Two Face was powerful and memorable (I'll never see Eckhart in the same light!). If I had one squabble it would be the audio mixing. At times the awesome soundtrack or the sound FX would drown out the dialouge, which is unfortunate considering the acting talent. In my opinion, this is the best Batman movie to date!

Heath Ledger was great Christian Bale is a great Batman. The whole movie was awesome except for Maggie. How did this woman get in this movie? She was awful, it was painful to watch. I found myself looking away when she was on screen she was so bad. A big group of us went to see the movie. And everbody said the samething. This woman is bad. She was the only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars.

I was pumped for this movie when word broke of the plot, i was pumped for the cast and I was pumped when the teasers appeared. I was a bit cautious after Ledgers death, because of the additional, possible phony hype. But as i sit here typing, that movie was amazing. He absolutely lived up to expectations and beyond. Sorry Jack. No one will be able to be a Joker again. And everyone else did exactly what they had to. I liked Maggie over Katie, Dent was to a T and everything clicked. Go see this over and over and over and over.

I was totally captivated throughout the entire movie. It was a terrific movie. Heath Ledger was finominal, an absolutly amazing performance. I would go see this movie again and as well purchase the video. I have recomended this movie to my friends and family. It is a must see.

The best Batman movie so far. The storyline was intriguing, the characters well developed, and the special effects were awesome. Heath Ledger should win an Oscar for his portrayal of the Joker. He was unbelievably creepy. Christian Bale is a great Batman and Michael Caine is perfectly cast as Alfred. Morgan Freeman, as always, is a classy addition with a good role.

Excellent movie. Easily the best we've seen in quite awhile. Both my wife and I enjoyed in greatly. Only a couple of minor nitpicks, but they didn't detract from the overall highly enjoyable experience. Heath Ledger deserves all the accolades he's receiving. Fantastic job.

This film has taken the 'comic book' genre to an entirely different level of sophistication. As a child, I always preferred DC to Marvel comics, because, they were simply more interesting, more entertaining and thoughtful. The Batman was my favourite hero ,and I feel only blissful confirmation of this fact after seeing this film.

not a real action film fan but my daughter wanted to see The Dark
Knight so I went with her. I was surprised I liked it as well as i did.
Lots of violence but the acting was very good and I'm a fan of all the
actors in the major rolls. My daughter (23 yrs old) LOVED IT. Said it
was the best Batman film yet!

dont bother. It really sucked. I've never seen a super hero movie where the super hero hates his job so bad. He just seemed very bored and bothered about having to save everyone all the time. The story line was so chopped up and had so many dead ends that you just didnt care who won and you never really wanted to cheer for anybody, good or bad. The Joker was just annoying.He kept saying that he was not the kind of guy that ever had a plan but just liked to be spontaneously bad. Then out of the blue he always had an unbelievably elaborate scheme that it sucked any credibility out of his character.
How spontaeneous is it to put your finger print on a bullet and shoot it into a wall because you know batman has a brand new gadget that can reassemble a shattered bullet and find a fingerprint on the reconstructed 3d model???. and the worse part is that batman didn't know he had the gadget until alfred showed it to him. The whole 3d / CSI reconstruction scene had nothing to do with being a superhero.
And the girl that everyone was fighting over was just a hag.
Where's Adam West when you need him.

If there were a way to see inside of a dream - the pace, the spectacle, the excitement, the anxiety, the darkness, and that ever present troubled sense of comfort - then Chris Nolan has found it! This movie walks you through a world with no limits. There's nothing supernatural but it maintains something surreal throughout the entire work. The writing and direction are incredible. The Nolan brother's have the mix, they have found the balance and once again they deliver. Nolan's incredible shots immerse you in this world from the moment the film begins. Often times large iconic shots leave you at a pause. The sound design was incredible. When the Joker rides off in a stolen police card, he drops out every sound except that of bass. But it's not a bass line, just bass, it's as though it were one drawn out heartbeat. This choice adds depth to so many things. It is clear that the Nolan brother's understand what it takes to get into the human mind. The cast does an exceptional job at immersing the audience in the depth that even the most secondary characters have and our leads are ever immersing. I have nothing but praise for Christian Bale who delivers once again as Batman, not that this is much of a surprise! The Welsh actor adds a depth to Batman that no other actor has ever truly brought to the role. Bale found a way to keep sight of Bruce Wayne while behind the mask, something no other actor has been able to do with such subtlety and poise. Bruce is always there, but never overbearing and obvious. It is a stellar performance. Another actor who blossomed in this movie is Aaron Eckhart. His portrayal of Harvey "Two-Face" Dent is image changing for a long time favorite of the comic book series. Eckhart takes a character that has long lived in a state of irrationality and makes the audience understand him. The way that Eckhart gives off the subtly of his conflicted personality is amazing. The performance is subtle and pays great attention to detail. Once Harvey becomes Two-Face, Eckhart shines even stronger. The subtly he was able to establish in the duality of this character was a clear reflection of the coin he tosses in the air to make his decisions, often times you truly feel for both sides of this character. But let's get to the man everyone has been talking about, Heath Ledger. Let me put it this way...everything you've heard, is true! This is the performance of a lifetime. Kevin Smith was right when he said that Ledger "didn't so much as give a performance as he disappeared completely into the role." This performance is breathtaking, from idiosyncrasy to idiosyncrasy. His constant licking of his lips paints him as a wild dog, always with the slightest taste of blood on his lips as he walks around looking for something else to consume. Ledger's Joker turns everyone on their backs, manipulating plans and forcing everyone, from common citizens to our protagonists, into extreme moral decisions where either choice has dire consequences. Ledger is gone in this role, it's not until the final moments in the movie that you are reminded that there is an actor behind the mask. If this performance isn't Oscar worthy, I don't know what is. His Joker is both terrifying and fun to watch. Every second he appears in frame you hold your breath and every second you can only hear his voice, you want to close your eyes because you don't know what he could possibly do next. As a large Joker fan myself I feel it means a lot to say that this performance has defined the madman in a way that no one has ever dreamed of. He's real now. No chemicals, no tainted skin, just paint, scars and the truest form of madness. Heath Ledger will be missed and he has left us this icon to remember him by. The rest of the cast also does an amazing job, Michael Caine (Alfred), Morgan Friedman (Lucius Fox), Maggie Gyllenhaal (Rachel Dawes), and Gary Oldman (Lt. Gordon) add more and more depth to a world that constantly reminds you that Gotham city is all too possible and not so fantasy as its counterparts, Spider-man or Hulk. These are real people with no powers, just an over powering desire to either do good or to do evil.

When I first heard about Heath Ledger playing the joker, I thought, "UGH What a bad choice!"
As the promo shots and trailers were released, I slowly changed my mind. I was excited to see this film more so than any other so far this year.
It was fabulous! After seeing it, I immediately wished I could go see it again. I never go see movies twice in theatre, but I'm going again this week to catch the IMAX version.
The only distracting thing was sitting in the theatre watching Heath Ledger's transformation into the Joker and thinking, "What a complete and utter loss to the industry his death caused".

This movie lived up to all the hype that surrounded it. The whole cast gave excellent performances, but the Joker was trully a disturbing character. Unfortunately, Heath Ledger gave the performance of his life. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a great action flick.
