I see a lot of movies. I love to be entertained. I haven't been to a WOW movie in years. That is until the 18th. Heath Ledger stole the show and truthfully, there should never be a new Batman movie with the Joker because no one...NO ONE, could portray the Joker better. I never clap at movies and rarely shout out but I found myself doing both! I will NEVER look at a pencil the same...

I never liked Batman movies. I really enjoyed this one. Christopher Nolan has done and excellent job on this one. I would recommend this movie to anyone the age of 10 and older.
Not for children under that age.

this honestly was one of the best movies i have ever seen. it was completely action packed but still managed to have a fantastic and unpredictable plot. heath ledger certainly deserves an oscar for his performance and christian bale was excellent as well.

Never have i been SO into a Batman flick as this one.. watching the storyline develop just kept the entire audience in suspense, the comic relief throughout the movie had us cracking up and watching the characters was just.. WOW.

This movie clearly lived up to all it's hype. Ledger's performance is one for the ages. Although the movie is rated PG-13, it's so bleak and dark, I would think twice about taking anyone under 13 to it.

As a movie buff, there are films that come along that make the movie going experience for even the people who don't share the same pleasure in the experience have a change of heart. Or make nay sayers who believe that Hollywood has run out of ideas believe that stories can still be told in such a way that move and shake us at the core. And this is one of those films...
Christopher Nolan captures everything one should expect from a film such as this one and so much more. The cinemetography is absolutely beautiful, the special effects are just awesome, the story is engaging, the action top notch, the comedy hit the right spots, and the acting was just absolutely flawless...
One could not ask for any better acting from a cast than in this film. Everyone of them took their roles to a level not often seen in film today. I consider Christian Bale one of the great actors of our time and once again he didn't disappoint me in the least. Morgan Freeman (outstanding, another great), Gary Oldman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Aaron Eckhart, and the ever classy Michael Cain were absolutely flawless in their roles.
But certainly none could match the performance given by the late Heath Ledger as the Joker. I honestly can not remember an actor so engaged and believeable in a role as in his performance here. The pychotic mind and geniousness of this character could not have been any more perfected than what Heath has done. And a standing ovation couldn't even amount to what is deserved for what he delivers. It certainly was a performance of a lifetime.
I can't remember a film since the Transformers that I have been so excited to see and walk out of the theater more than satisfied and excited to see again. If there is a film to be seen this year, this certainly would be the one to go and see

I have been a batman fan since I was a kid watching Adam West play the role of Batman... (and not as re-runs...) So I have seen them all... This was the best Batman movie ever and Heath Ledger was a better Joker than even Jack Nicholson who I deemed the reigning champ up until last weekend... I have sent all of my friends to see this movie... I only wished that it was in an IMAX theatre closer to me so that my grandson and I could have watched it on an even larger screen... The movie was awsome....

This movie was more then I thought it was going to be. I dont want to ruin it for you so Ill keep it short. Dont get a drink and pee before the movie, because its 2 1/2 hours long and you dont want to miss anything. Ofcourse the Joker stole the show, but storyline came in at a close second. My only complaint was Maggie Gyllenhaal. She is a POOR replacement for Katie Holmes. I am no Katie Holmes fan, but Gyllenhaal is a dog. How am I suppose to believe that billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne is in love with a woman who looks like Droopy (that cartoon dog). I dont care if he knew her since childhood....I couldnt believe it.

Like many of you, I didn't expect the movie to live up to the hype. I'm not sure if it did or not, but if you put all of that out of your mind and just enjoy it, I think you will find it to be an excellent movie! I can not wait for the DVD so I can go back and catch details that I missed the 1st time. I hope it has lots of commentary and behind the scenes info.

With all the hype for months prior to releasing this movie, my husband and I looked forward to viewing it. However, it was a waste of time. First of all, it was waaayyyy too long. It could have easily been cut to 2 hours. The performance of Heath Ledger was not as outstanding as was expected. I think the connection to his untimely death helped to hype this movie, not his performance. This movie is very much like many movies made recently; a lot of violence, a lot of car chase, a lot of noise, and a lot of special effects just for the sake of it. We felt it had very little story content, and of course the ending provides room for another sequel to be made. When we left the theater, we both said at the same time, "This was not equal to the hype that has been promoted" We could have skipped it.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

This movie was great! Very intense movie, but the acting that Heath Ledger did was great. It did seem a little long towards the end of the movie, but definitely a must see especially if you like the Batman series or if you like any of the actors/actresses in it.

Awesome, heart-pounding action.
Heath Ledger's "Joker" was fiendishly played. Sad that there will be no more from this wonderfully gifted actor.
While I give this movie 5 out of 5 stars, I do think the PG-13 rating should have been more strict, say, R rated. The action was very intense.

This is one of the best movies I've seen in a very long time. Some people are saying it's not "kid friendly" and I completely disagree. I say between 8 and 9 and up is fine! Everyone did a fantastic job, and I have to agree, Heath Ledger rocked. Go see it.

I have already seen this movie twice. Could not believe that it was so amazing, took my daughter and her friends (boys and girls) for her birthday on the 18th and they kept saying AMAZING. Heath was great as the Joker. This movie had so much emotion and surprises that I want to watch it over and over. Definitely lived up to all the hype!

It's one of the longest movies I've ever seen in theaters and worth every single second. There comes a point at which you realize that you're watching an incredibly long movie and that you have about 45 minutes left and an intense wave of excitement comes over you because you never want it to end. And don't worry about staying through all of the credits for something special after because it can't end any better than it does already. It instantly climbed into my top five favorite movies.

I really enjoyed Heath Ledger's performance. Christian Bale is always a favorite as well. Action movies are not my favorite, but I really enjoyed this one. Sometimes it was hard to tell between the good guys and the bad guys and "the Batman's" voice disguise got to be a little irritating after a couple of hours. But it was definitely worth the $$ and being able to see it on the big screen.

When I left the movie I thought there was something I didn't like about Leger's Joker. I then realized it was just that I wanted more, more and more Joker. I wanted him to be on screen the entire time. If you like to be disturbed (in a good way) you should definitely see this movie.

What made this movie so outstanding was the portrayal of the Joker. He is the prototype of the modern-day terrorist who is not motivated by money nor power. Instead what drives him is his curiosity at discovering what buttons he can push to drive society to madness and anarchy.
