This movie blew me away. Especially the joker scenes, of course. Every time Heath Ledger was on the screen, everyone in the theater was completely engaged and silent. One of the best performances I've ever seen.

Heath Ledger gave an awesome performance as the Joker... His mannerisms were so believable it was scary... Missed Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes but Maggie Gyllenhal stepped right up to the plate... Aaron Eckhart as Two-Face was also awesome... and of course, Christian Bale is the finest and best-looking Batman of 'em all!

This is by far the best Batman ever. I loved the first one, but this one blows that out of the water.I went with a group of 10 people on opening knight and every person in the group loved it!! No complaints. Not too long or too perfect length.

It was the best 2:30 hours of my movie watching life that I can remember. It is more than a superhero movie, it redefines what a superhero movie can be. Heath Ledger deserves all the posthumous Oscar talk that's been floating around. He shows the Joker's true colors. He is a force of nature, chaos embodied. The Joker and The Batman fight it out for the soul of Gotham City. Will Chaos ensue or good prevail. Never before have I ever wanted Chaos to prevail.

I love movies. I love Hollywood, but this movie was great because I couldn't tell what was going to happen. It keep me in suspense and was intense in most of the movie. The action scenes were hot!
They should just burn all the Batmans before. Batmans should be like these. It was kinda long, but probably because I caught the midnight show. I thought it ended in two different scenes.

Movie was good but it was too long. People were falling asleep. It was sad knowing that the Joker...while not killed in the movie was actually completing his last performance. There was not as much Batman in this movie it seemed...more of a story line... Imagine that. All in all it was well worth staying up late to see.

The Dark Knight is pitch perfect from beginning to end. Heath Ledger plays a Joker so fearsome that he could carry the movie on his own. Luckily he doesn't have to because all the other actors are firmly entrenched in their characters. Christian Bale plays an increasingly reluctant Batman while Aaron Eckhart is the up and coming DA Harvey Dent out to clean up Gotham the legitimate way.
While a little long and dense, the story never loses pace. It will keep you on the edge of your seat for the whole 2 and a half hour run time.

This movie was awesome. I came to the theater a little apprehensive considering there was so much hype behind it. It was the best movie I have seen all summer. The cast did great but no one more so than Heath Ledger. He brought a scary, calm madness to a character which had made into a cartoon in the previous Batman incarnations. Excellent film.

It was a great movie! Great drama, awesome villains, very entertaining action movie. There was always something going on, the movie made perfect sense, it had a beginning and an end as well, and Christian Bale looks super hot. Best Batman Movie Ever! Densely packed, even at 2 1/2 hours long. Director Nolan needs the room to manage the arcs of several characters, each more fully realized than he was able to in Batman Begins. You really get to see inside Batman, Bruce Wayne, Alfred, the Joker, Harvey Dent, Gordon, Rachel Dawes and more. There's action, lord is there action; but it's CHARACTERS in action and action revealing character with no wasted space.

Over the past few years, we all have been a part of the deterioration of the movie-going experience. From the over crowded movie theaters packed with moronic, dim-witted customers who never know when to shut up or lack the common decency to let fellow patrons enjoy the flick...to the hard to swallow plot lines, rushed marketing machines that barely pass for quality stories or entertainment that Hollywood seems to green light with no real accountability for intelligent cinema.
The Dark Knight has managed to perform a cinematic miracle from the chaos that has taken over the present day movie going experience. From the very beginning, it grabs you by the shirt, demands your fullest attention for the full two and a half hours, and tells you to leave your bullsh-t baggage at the door. And if you don't, well good luck finding a ride home.
Heath Ledger deserves every accolade, every award, every bit of praise. His portrayal of an iconic villain chilled you to the core yet left you begging for more. A long time staple of the audiences reaction to a villain is that you WANT to see him dead in the end. You want to see him get what's coming to him. Ledger, instead made you want more. More anarchy. More maliciousness. More moments where you were both frightened and anxious. Even his tension releases remained uneasy. They were short lived. Because you knew at any split second, he could turn from giving you something to chuckle about, to something to cringe over.... and sometimes - they were one in the same. An incredible actor has created a new blueprint for madness. If we are lucky, we may see the baton passed to someone else with half the depth and understanding as what Ledger was able to convey.... but these are indeed tough shoes to fill.
To paraphrase Director Kevin Smith - This is The Godfather of Comic Book movies. But for me it was much more than that. It was a punch drunk speechless movie audience whose only comment was at 2:30AM of a midnight showing in which they applauded and yelled "Roll it again!" It was being unconditionally immersed in a story without distraction. It was actually enjoying going to the movies again.
There is still hope... this movie proves it.

This is a seriously GREAT MOVIE!!!! Not much really needs to be said that hasn't been said in any other positive review on any other website, but yeah.... if you had any doubts that this movie couldn't possibly live up to the hype, well it's even better than I could have imagined. Everything from the acting, the script, the direction is superb!
Not enough can be said about the Joker's character and Heath Ledger's portrayal... I mean seriously, he makes Jack Nicholson's Joker seem third rate.
Bottom line, go see it. you won't regret it.

Saw this opening night, will be the blockbuster of the summer. Have not been able to find one bad review, and I know why. And the Award for best actor goes to.....Ledger who did an amazing job with Joker, beats the crap out of Jack's. Movie is non-stop, not once during the entire film was I bored, waiting for it to get going or wondering what was on tv. Dark Knight shold surpass Spidy-3 for opening weekend ticket sales. The movie has enough in it where you might want to see it again to catch more. To anyone wondeing what they shold do, GO SEE THE DARK KNIGHT!!!!!!!!!

Now I know with all the hype, you expect a great review but after seeing this movie, WOW. It far exceeded my expectations and the acting was by far the best ive seen. Heath Ledger, God rest his soul, did what every actor/actress strives to do; become the part. When he played the Joker, he didn't play the part, he became the part. Throughout the entire movie, you dont even realize that he is the one acting because it doesn't even seem like him. He truly became the part and hands down, he wins the academy award for the best actor. AMAZING movie, everyone go see cuz its well worth it.

From the opening scene the tone was set for this to be a very different kind of Batman. At a 2.5 hour run time it plays out on the long side but with all eyes glued to the screen few noticed their watches. Bale's Batman whisper was distracting at times but soon forgotten as Ledger lights up the screen. Even with all its flaws it was still a truly enjoyable experience!

I'm not going to talk about the plot. The plot is engaging and well written enough that anything I tell you about it will take away from the overall effect. I'm not going to say that it's better than sex (as a comic book geek, I can say I wouldn't know). All I can say is that this is an incredibly hyped movie, a movie everyone has been waiting for since Christopher Nolan first donned the Bat suit in Batman Begins. With all this anticipation, it could be easy enough for it to be not worth it, but believe it or not it actually meets expectations, and in a sense exceeds them. This movie views like a comic book but is accessible enough that everyone can get it. The characters are a blend of all their comic characterizations, which is fun for those who know the characters to see how it all works. The characters are still wholly themselves and the blend is seamless. You're probably going to see the movie anyway, and if you don't you'll be missing out on perhaps the best movie of the year.
