One of the most awesome movies of all time! The Joker is portrayed just as the original comic character is supposed to be. Excellent performance from the entire cast. This is a must watch for anyone who loves batman or movies that make perfection sound possible.

This movie is Phenomenal! The special effects are AWESOME and Better than before, especially the China part! Heath Ledger's Joker was amazing and really did the character justice. I thought Heath Ledger's portrayal was flawless. Christian Bale's Batman was also Fantastic and I think kept close to who Batman Really is...the Guardian of Gotham city: Willing to do whatever it is that the City needs and keep it's citizens safe. I definitely saw Aaron Eckhart AS Harvey Dent/Two-Face and his portrayal was Great. I just loved all of the actors' portrayals of their characters because all kept as close as possible to the original. I couldn't really find anything I didn't like. The only thing I can think of is the origin change of Two-Face, which to me was minor, but other than that it was pretty much perfect.

This movie made me laugh, almost cry, get scared, root for the good guy, and say "whoah" out loud more than a few times. Great acting, great story, great writing, great directing, great cinematography... what more could you want?

I had heard that this one would be good, but I rarely accept an opinion offered by critics. I have to see it for myself. I am so glad that I did. It was an incredibly intense movie and I was impressed by the performances. I believed that Batman was close to crossing the line and I believed that the Joker was just a mad dog "playing" with Batman. It's a must see.

The Dark Knight lived up to all it's hype. Christian Bale, heath Ledger, and Aron Beckhart were excellent. They all playd their characters wel. Everything was real like you were a part of. I am a batman fan and I want to say that Ledger playd the joker verry good, how the Joker is supposed to be.

I got up this morning for work, having gotten very little sleep last night what with having gone to the midnight show of a long "comic book movie." At some point, groggy though I was, I thought to myself: 'this might have been one of the best movies I've ever seen...'
I consider myself a fairly sophisticated movie viewer, with a discerning eye. I'm pretty well versed in the AFI's faves, have broad exposure to all kinds of movies, have developed that quasi-cynical edge that sometimes struggles to just 'enjoy' them as entertainment. I'd say I'm no easy critic. So such a statement from me is very rare.
What's extremely rare is for such a statement to survive more than five minutes reflection. What's exceptional, is when an entire day passes (well, eight hours at this point) with the same conclusion still in my head.
As an action movie, this works better than most action movies.
As a drama, it's more effective--more affecting--than most dramas.
As a tragedy, it's hauntingly poetic.
It provides a wealth of themes, rich thought-provoking themes, and you know this because half a dozen reviewers will each come up with their own central theme for the film with none being wrong nor wholly right.
On top of all of that, it creates a villain (Ledger and the Nolans) that ranks alongside Lecter, Vader, Bates, and others as incredibly iconic.
This movie got me excited again, about movies, about stories, about the potential that the best are not necessarily behind us. I'd say that AFI needs to make room on all their top lists.

I have been a fan of Heath Ledger for a long time! I thought he was very underated and he was almost unrecognizable in this movie. Oh, my GOD, he was incredible as THE JOKER! I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF THIS MOVIE! It's a shame that Heath won't be able to make in more appearances in any future movies due to his untimely death. Everyone did a great job! The DARK KNIGHT is DARK and LOVELY!!!!!

Awesome movie, will see it a second and a third time and I NEVER do that with movies...EVER! Each actor was perfect for their part with the exception of rachel dawes( I liked katie holmes better for some reason). But I have not seen a actor play a villian so well. For the most part I was actually worried for batman and the city. Gordon was awesome and the actor was good for him. Christian Bale is the best batman hands down. I also like how they have gotten away from the "comic book style" to more modern and serious style and it makes the batman movies not seem like one big joke. I would say see this movie you will not be disappointed I promise!

Hands down Heath Ledger was fantastic. He completely captivated the audience with his performance. There will never be another like it. The movie flows forward, never dragging. I was captivated for the entire two hours and thirty minutes unable to ever look away! I can't wait to go see it again!

This movie definitely lives up to all of the hype and expectations that were put upon it by the fans and media alike. Heath Ledger was brilliant as the Joker---truly a maniacal character. Bale was good as well. All of the acting was pretty good. I really didn't care for the casting of Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel--I really think that they could have picked someone better for the role. But she was adequate. The movie was full of action, had a great storyline, and a lot of little twists. And for being as long as it was, it sure didn't seem like it was that long. There really weren't any times that I felt a scene was just thrown in with no meaning. Overall, it was a fantastic movie that I plan on seeing again, most likely in the IMAX format this time though.

Whenever you see a movie, there is always one actor that jumps off the screen and takes hold of you. Draws you into the movie. Heath Ledger easily did that for me. He had me into the movie within the first few minutes. For a while i even forgot batman was in the movie i was so focused on his character. mannerisms, laugh, speech. He had it nailed. even non comic book fans would enjoy this simply because of the detail and thought into the story. Everyone who took part in making this movie deserves a award, director, actors, writers. i highly recommend seeing this by any means possible.

This was overall one of the best movies I've seen in a very long time. The acting in this movie was superb. Especially that of the Oscar worthy performance by Heath Ledger as the joker. This will definitely be the performance he is remembered for. Once again the movie did justice to the Batman name, and the believability of the movie was fantastic in itself. I am very much looking forward to the next installment of the Batman saga. If you are to go see any movie this summer, or this year, this should definitely be at the top of your list!

One of the best super hero movies ever, if not the best. Heath Ledger's performance will be talked about until they decide whether they want to give him the oscar for it or not. The action is great but the story is even better. It will tug on your heart strings and then cut them to take hostage of your brain instead.

Prior to this movie, Batman Forever was my favourite Batman movie. Now those true hardcore comic fans may cry foul that I actually liked some of the more recent flicks, but I am an average movie watcher, not someone who is interested in the details and "trueness" of the comic movie genre.
That being said, though, Dark Knight was awesome. Felt longer than 2 1/2 hours, but I think that's a good thing. To me, that means they fit in more story than should be able to during that timeframe.
The action was spectacular, the acting above par. All in all a great show. Most people will be talking about Heath Ledger simply because he is no longer with us, God rest his soul, but I think he's the stand out actor in this movie because he made the character his own.
Even for those non-Batman fans, or average movie-goers like me, this is an excellent movie to catch.

This movie has set the bar high for all other movies based on a comic book. This is what I want to see in all of movie that I give my time to watch. This is the level of commitment and a realism I want to see the actors portray so that characters I fall in love with feel real.

This film was done very well; it was a non stop action flick in you were drawn in from the get go. so much that you cant leave the theatre to even use the restroom because you're afraid you'll miss too much of the movie.
