Thus far the best movie of the year hands down . Ledger's Joker kept you in your seats, you couldn't even run out to grap some refreshments thats how good it was L.O.L. Harvey Dent aka Two face was a great addition as well . It is sad to hear of Mr.Ledger passing but I will not forget his efforts & performance as the Joker. ENJOY !!!

I really did not think this movie has lived up to all the hype. Health Ledger did a good joker, but all in all it was a very choppy story line, it did not keep your interest for the extreme length of the movie, and working in a second villian was really unnecessary. I don't reccomend spending the money to see this in the theater, wait until it comes out and rent it. It is a B rated movie with really good special effects.

This movie has a great cast of actors and there are some very impressively shot aerial landscape scenes. However, the action scenes are hard to follow at times what with everything moving so quickly. The late Heath Ledger did a fantastic job as the Joker...very psychotic and unpredictable at times without being loud and obnoxious. Christian Bale is great once again but this movie has too many plots and sub-plots occurring simultaneously (hence my 4 star rating).

Growing up I was never really a batman fan - up until I saw this movie. I can not believe how amazing this movie was. When you add the great acting, awesome sound effects and dramatic effects... it was incrediable - it is a MUST SEE!

Always the sceptic when it comes to sequels, I went to see The Dark Knight anyway. I was not disappointed! The acting was supurb and the plot was great. Lots of action, kept me interested throughout the movie. I never got bored! Though I didn't think it was as good as Batman Begins, still worth going to see on the big screen.

While I liked the acting, especially of the Joker, and most of the special effects were outstanding (save the helicopter crash), this is an average movie that left me wondering what's the point? The plot is far too obvious and the situations are the same over and over again with only the details changing. The heros are left to look like complete fools who can't figure out what's going on. A shame these movies aren't following the original point of Batman, instead all are focusing on his struggle to be either good or bad. Time for someone to change the topic!!

It was action from begining to end. Great performances by very good actors. To bad we will not have Heath Ledger showing us again what he is able to do in front of a camera. Loved the fact that everyone had a crucial importance in the movie, not just one more face in it. Talking about face, what a nice work on the introduction of the Two Face vilan and what a great visual efect. As I said, it was amazing!

Wow! This flick was awesome! It was dark...the music was kind of scary...definitely set the tone for Gotham City. Bale plays a great Batman. Ledger's performance was stellar. Unlike any other Joker, this one was competely demented and off-the-hook. I wouldn't reccommend this one for the kids so parents need to note the PG-13 rating. Oh - and I would also suggest seeing it in IMAX.

At first I was hesitant about seeing another Batman movie but I a SO glad I did. This movie was so intense throughout and with all the twists and turns you never really knew what to expect next. This is the first time in a long while that I've actually wanted to go back to the theater and see it a second and even third time. Heath Ledger did such an amazing job and the story line was one of the best ever; I was completely blown away!!!

Notwithstanding the late Heath Ledger's accomplished performance, this is a TERRIBLE movie. The dialogue is trite - particularly as overenunciated by Chistian Bale; the Joker's plot points are stolen directly from the SAW movies; and even the much ballyhooed production design is corny in places and will surely feel dated in very short order (unlike classic metropolitan dystopias like BLADE RUNNER). The 2.5 hour length was completely unnecessary - if I heard one more rambling oration on the duplicity of man and how there's a fine line between heroes and villains, I might just have walked out.
What I found most offensive, however, was that the MPAA found fit to give this barrage of torture and violence a PG-13 rating. That this was released with a PG-13 and BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN (Heath Ledger's previous great performance) was rated R demonstrates everything wrong with this country's warped values. There is nothing redeeming in THE DARK KNIGHT.

Each preceding interpretation of the Batman movies stands on it's own merits.
This BATMAN stands alone as the ultimate portrayal that is truly believeable.

The only redeeming feature of this over-the-top mess was watching Heath Ledger's portrayl of Joker. Virtually all of the action sequences were filmed in almost total darkness and conversations were taking place in empty warehouses where they became lost in echos.Endless political discussions made for an EXTREMELY long 2.5 hours.

Heath Ledger's performance to go along with an excellent script made this by far the best super hero movie ever. Also, I would not be shocked to see this get some Oscar buzz, especially Heath Ledger. The complex nature of the script and the character development made it a great movie. In addition to Ledger's performance, Gary Oldman was fantastic as Commissioner Gordon. Definitely a must see and a movie that you will want to see again and again.

This was as exciting as everyone says and Heath L.'s performance is astounding. But it's also a smart critique of the hopelessness of Bush's so-called "war on terror"---one predicated on the fear of chaos and characterized by a "torture is okay" attitude, but one which only produces more chaos. As the Joker says, when a truckload of soldiers get killed, everyone accepts it because it's "part of the plan," even if it's a very bad plan.

Everyone keeps singing Ledger's praise of how great of a Joker he was, how he was the best Joker ever, and how it may have been the best performance ever. And I would agree with all those things. But what people are not saying is that out of all the pairings of Batmans/Villains, Ledger and Bale are the best there ever has been and probably the best there ever will be! My wife said, "The Joker reminded me of Saw." It was quite shocking to hear her say that, but I can actually see it. He is demented, psycho, and wants to teach everyone that they're just like him. Bottom line, this movie is a must see for EVERYONE, not just people that like Batman, the acting was that great and I expect many awards for this epic movie.

Wow! What a performance by Heath Ledger. Even though this movie is a blood-bath without the blood, I still think it deserves an "R" rating for the creepiness of his character. He embodied the idea of how Morgan Freeman's character describes as 'someone who just wanted to watch the world burn'. The action and peril is intense and relentless. A little too much for me from a story point of view. It seemed to drag out a little at 2hrs, 30 mins. Don't get me wrong; it never drags. it was just one betrayal/disaster after another. These kinds of cinematic elements are good to me when they are unexpected and climactic. In "The Dark Knight", they are de rigeur. Still, overall, excellent movie. If Heath Ledger's death wasn't tragic enough on its own, seeing the kind of work he could produce makes it even more so.
