This movie definitely takes the cake for this years best movie. Period. It is not your typical super hero movie where everything works out in the end. The overall darkness of this movie makes it very original and something we are not used to seeing. It separates this movie from the boring, predictable, usual movie plots and makes it genuinely entertaining and new. Definitely worth a watch in theaters.

The Dark Knight was a fantastic movie - it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time despite being 2 1/2 hours long. Heath ledger did an amazing job with the joker - he was absolutely haunting, and I love the darker, more austere approach to the comics. I thought some of the action sequences and twists could have had a little more wow factor to them but the overall effect was great.

The movie was not just a comic book sequel it is a great crime drama, like The Departed. Heath Ledger was truly disturbing and scary as The Joker. Definately not for kids under 12/13.

If you are looking for one of those movies where you say "they can't do that" every ten minutes this movie is right for you. The second installment in Christian Bale's Batman series "The Dark Knight" paints an even grittier picture of the Batman and Gotham city introducing a host of new characters from the mob underworld including the Joker and Harvey Dent and even brings back some familiar faces from "Batman Begins" such as that of Killian Murphy as the Scarecrow.

Heath Ledger's performance was the stuff legends are made of. It was funny but not too campy like other Batman films. Christian Bale as always, fabulous and remains the best Batman. I highly recommend this movie and will not only see it again in theatres, but will add it to my personal collection as soon as it is available on video.

Finally a batman movie with a real plot that really makes sense and is realistic. Finally a joker that real to his character. Heath deserves an oscar for this performance plain and simple. I lost all respect for him and didn't care to see him again after bareback mountain, but I must admit he really was awesome in this movie.
Batman still needs help, the deep voice is still too cartoonish and bruce wayne isn't portrayed very well.

The Dark Knight brought the Batman franchise back. Since the original Batman with Nicholson and Keaton the series has been alright, but nothing spectacular.
This movie had a great storyline, introducing or re-introducing characters and bringing the best of supervillans back to face Batman. The special effects were awesome and the toys... "where does he get those wonderful toys" now we know... from Lucius Fox. I think we got to learn more about Bruce Wayne, not just that his parents were killed by the Joker like the first time around, but that the Batman believes he is not Gotham's hero.
Wayne's struggle with his own demons and his desire to wind up with Rachel Dawes was convincing. Almost to the point where he might give up being Batman.
I liked this move all the way from beginning to end and thought Ledger gave an amazing performance as the Joker.

Excellent story although could have been made into two seperate films. Great storyline with Two face, Joker, and the Batman. Heath Ledger does a great job with the Joker identity and defentiely makes it his own. Will be very intrigued to see where they take the story from here. Lots of doors open to introduce new characters. Over all great film/

Though a bit on the long side, Batman the Dark Knight was masterfully told story. Every detail told in this story beautifully blends in making its length seem completely worth it. This movie shows the darker side of Batman. This is not your cartoonish Batman. This guy means serious business. This is Batman the way it should be told. Christian Bale has finally made it into my favorite "Movie Batman" spot. I really hope there is more to come.
Last and DEFENITELY not least, The Joker.
This MUCH anticipated Joker role, played by now deceased Heath Ledger was complete Perfection. Yes, Perfection. It is a complete shame this actor is no longer among us. This character seems to have been SO well research by Ledger that you have to ask yourself throughout the whole movie, "Is this really the same actor I saw years ago in movies like A Knight's Tale & 10 Things I Hate About You?" It's the Joker, LIVE and on the big screen. This character was played to a degree of PERECTION so high that I dare say "GIVE HIM AN OSCAR FOR BEST ACTOR." Many of you might be thinking, "You're just saying that because he's dead." NO, I am not. I don't care if this is not the "type of movie" that gets nominated. When a character is played so flawlessly as Heath Ledger played the Joker, to the point where you no longer see Heath but you see the character, brought to life, I say hand him an Oscar. In this case hand his family something that says "Your son was brilliant."
Enough said, I recommend this move 200%. If you haven't watched it already, get off your butt and go see it today.

I think this movie is by far the most incredible Batman ever. The visual effects were awesome and the storyline was great. All the actors and actresses gave outstanding perfromances. I have never been a huge fan of him but Heath Ledgers interpretation of Joker is insanley twisted and I loved every minute of it!! My only quarell is I am left feeling that no other person may top Ledgers Joker, if that character were to be in a future sequel. Than again there were people that thought this about Jack Nicholsons Joker....so maybe there is hope needless to say though Ledgers performance fueled this film.

I watched this film in awe of greatness. Bale is the most gritty yet emotional Batman. Ledger's performance is striking. I didn't want it to end. the characters are so real you can forget that its a comic book film. Definitely an edge of your seat-full of surprises-hand over the mouth-must see again film!!

Easily the darkest film of the Batman franchise, 'The Dark Knight' does not disappoint. The hype that surrounded the movie was met, if not transcended by the film. Fantastic performances are given left and right, but the two most notable are those of Aaron Eckhart and the late Heath Ledger. It is the best movie I have seen in quite some time, and it works perfectly on so many levels. I wholeheartedly recommend seeing this movie, as saw it twice on opening night (Midnight showing, followed by the 3:30 AM showing), and I may have enjoyed it even more the second time.

From minute one to minute 157 this movie had me hooked. I left the theater wanting more and anytime that happens I know the director, actors, screenwriters, everyone did their part. Starting with Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker, it absolutely blew me away. The depth and precision that he must have put into that role was amazing. A real breakout and sadly last performance that we will see by him. The complexes that Batman goes through are quite evident throughout as he chooses between his lost lover or the hope of a city, between saving himself some face or showing the true colors of Two Face, no pun intended. The Joker stole the show but there was no point where I felt disappointed in any way in how the movie played out. Even though, Bale's gruff Batman voice got kind of irritating, it was important because it gave Wayne/Batman some distinction between the two personalities that frequently collided.

I have seen this movie twice in the past two days, and I plan to see it again at least twice in the next week, and it gets better every time.
Story, characters, emotion, the look the feel, everything about this movie is PERFECT.
Mr. Heath Ledger, I congratulate you. I wanted this movie to be ten hours long. Every word, every motion, and move he makes is astounding.
I have never left a movie theater wanting to go back and see the movie I just saw again. And everyone I saw it with wanted to do that exact thing.

Wow. Intense doesn't start to begin to describe this movie.
We're blessed to see such a great performance from Heath Ledger of course, but not see this man again in the future is such a shame.
This may be rated PG-13, but this is NOT a children's movie. Bringing younger children to this movie will have the Joker replace the Boogie Man in future nightmares.

I would imagine this is exactly how Frank Miller imagined the Dark Knight to be when he wrote the graphic novel some 20 years ago. Heath Ledger's portrayal of the evil, sadistic Joker was perhaps the greatest acting performance of all time, no matter what genre and what time period!!!!! Will definately go down as one of my favorites of all time, can't wait to see it again and again and again!!

The Dark Knight was an amazing display of cinematic talent. The feel and pace of the film was no pun intended, dark. This is where many have a problem with it. But the "darkness" factor is perfect for this film. What an amazing show of talent in all areas. Can't say enough good things about this movie. If you love Batman, big fights and shots, great character development, and a mood that will haunt you in a good way, see this movie. I actually thought to myself half way in the film, "man I hope this just keeps going". Great piece of film.
