We knew it would be good but it was great!
We love Christian, he is the BEST Batman, and Heath was really Amazing. He brought a new aspect to the Joker and made it very dark which is the way the Joker should be, not fancy and rich like the first one. Joker was still funny in a evil way.
Great Action, the crowd was chearing in some parts, everyone was really into it.
I cant wait to see what they come up with next!

The action was ongoing. Heath Ledger was amazing as the Joker! "Do you want to see my pencil disappear?" Great movie. I would highly recommend it! Just make sure that you buy your tickets ahead of time or you won't get into the movie, and also get to the theatre about 45 minutes ahead of time because there will be a line outside the theatre to get good seats!

Dark Knight manages to ask all kinds of creepy important questions about our post 09/11 imaginary, even as it fulfills the formulaic expectations of death, mayhem, a tiny bit of hetero sex, and in the words of Ali G, alot of great "hexplosions". The film belongs to dear, dead Heath Ledger, who manages to be borderline repulsive, cute, scary, child-like, and nietzche-esque all at the same time. A close second is Aaron Eckhart who is tragic, ironic, and really sad. it's a beautiful movie to look at, and it works on a bunch of different levels.

Perfectly executed big summer blockbuster!!!
Outstanding action scenes, builds the intensity of this movie. All of the casting was well on. Acting; Heath of course Rocked and menaced! But I loved Aaron Eckhart, what an outstanding job. Although, Batman's raspy voice was a little over the top at times, Christian Bale amazing and mesmerizing as Bruce Wayne! It's worth the 10+ dollars, I want to see it again!! Maybe a little too rattling for the 12 and younger kids.

There is an enormous amount of pressure to blow away a very wide demographic of audience when releasing an installment in the Batman series. This was built through the great success of the Tim Burton installments, the equally disapointing two films which followed and then the unexpexted triumph of Batman Begins. The Dark Knight did not let us down, and may well be the best overall entertainment of any of the films, by any director, to date.

It was one of the greatest hero/superhero movies I've ever seen. The joker played by Heath Ledger is probably one of the best bad guys of all time. If you haven't seen it yet you need to, and if you have seen it you need to see it again.

Great acting, directing, cinematography, special effects, music, sound effects and set design! Everything a movie goer loves.
The character development was well done by ALL characters. The shifting of film style between noir/pulp and contemporary setting keeps you on edge and engaged.
The plot had twists and turns that NO one could possibly guess. Perhaps a few too many.
I would have given this movie 5 stars if the plot hadn't twisted so much, and the length was a bit long. There were points where it seemed the movie was ending and it just seemed to go on and on. But never a dull moment.

watching this movie was great. i didnt expect a lot from it but it blew me away. heath ledger was the best actor in the film. he was just reat at playing his role. he should most certainly get a ammy for it!!!! i had to go to the bathroom really bad but i rather pee in my pants than miss a minute of the movie!!

Don't get me wrong this movie was really good, the acting was good the plot was good, but it also left me with a missing feeling when it was over more than a that was excellent. I don't know what was missing, but, something was for me. Definately would recommend it to see.

The acting was fantastic, Heath Ledger deserves the Oscar. Fantastic graphics, great cinematography, special effects. The scence with the semi-truck was amazing I have never seen anything look so real. Great direction. I did not like the "two-faced" person, you could have done something more realistic looking. Cannot wait for the next one

Great movie! Heath Ledger was outstanding in his role as a joker - creepy, crazy, and funny at the same time. Maggie Gyllenhal was SO much better than Katie Holmes in the role of Rachel Dawes. The action sequences were outstanding. My only complaint was the weird gravelly voice that Bruce Wayne used as Batman.

This has to be the best movie I have seen all year, and the first I've seen more than once in theaters. Heath Ledger is the Joker, which I'm sure is being said in every other review on this site and others. He came off as a very freightening serious funny character and went above and beyond out doing Jack Nicholsons version of the Joker and it'll be hard for anyone to beat. Christian Bale once again does an excellent job as The Dark Knight and Playboy Bruce Wayne. The Dark Knight pushes the PG-13 rating and goes close to being an R rating which would have been a nice touch to see. All in all it was, as the title says, the best movie of the year.

Well acted, well written remake of the original Batman movie with Batman and Joker facing off. Heath Ledger [his greatest role?] was a really scary joker (a lot more sinister than the Jack Nicholson joker). Christian Bale has made a believer out of me, who didn't give him much credit to be hardcore enough to be a caped crusader in his last Batman movie. Morgan Freeman was Morgan Freeman; enough said. I don't think Miss Jallenhale was hot enough to be the object of affection of the two most powerful men in Gotham. I would have liked to see an Angelina Jolie or other suitable leading lady in that role. The good versus evil and the constant struggle within Batman to choose the right path was as expected for a comic book superhero movie. I didn't buy the whole plot of the joker wanting to convert the DA to his side of the law or his fight to make Gotham's people less hopeful. I found the role of the joker as a deranged madman with no rules and completely unreachable with any sane argument as more beliveable. Overall a very good (but long) movie going experience.

As a filmmaker, I appreciated the ambitious nature of this movie. Nolan is one of the most talented directors out there and he always does excellent work. The movie was spectacular in terms of its reach, themes, action and vision but it also was flawed in that it was trying to combine too many elements at the same time.
Other than the brilliant character development and script of the Joker, the rather average dialogue negated the gritty realism the film was trying to portray. In that sense, it almost seemed like the Joker was in his own movie separate from the actual film. One excellent scene where you really felt this was when the Joker escapes and is sticking his head out of the police car and is enjoying the breeze in silence. This realistic and deep moment did not seem to aesthetically mesh with the rest of the film because there simply were too many elements to think about to bring it up to par with the Joker. In that sense, you never really cared about the other characters nor did you care about Gotham city. You never saw the mob actually run the city so there was a disconnect between the vicious goals of the Joker and of Batman himself.
The other theme of trying to make Batman an ambiguous hero as the needed, polar opposite of the Joker was difficult to feel. When Batman avoids killing the Joker while on his bike, it is not clearly understood. Yes, people are dying but to avoid killing the Joker for self-righteous reasons at point blank range needed to be stronger.
Other major characters such as Rachel Dawson and Harvey Grant were average in terms of performance. Gordon was also average in terms of character (not performance since Oldman is the amazing) so you didn't care when you thought he was killed.
However, aside from these flaws, the core of the movie worked and the brilliant action-cinematography and choreagraphy was excellent. Nolan doesn't always explain where things are coming from since he wants to mimic the 'bat-like' nature of a fight with a bat and that is one of the most original approaches to his sequences. The good and evil theme with Gotham could probably have been taken a bit more seriously rather than in passing with one-liners but overall, the ambition of this movie itself makes it stand above the rest of the comics.
