You've already heard the overhype, so let me just say that it was wicked cool to see so many shots of Chicago, my hometown until last year. I'd forgotten that Dark Knight was filmed there, and it was especially nice to see bits and pieces of the city--Chicago as I'm used to seeing it in real life--instead of the usual distant skyline.
Oh, and something else that the reviewers aren't mentioning: the Joker's arpeggio is the finest since the shark's in Jaws. It's that powerful.

You know, dynamite, gunpowder, explosions. You will see the Joker as he has never been played before--Goodbye Heath--really nutty as a squirrel, with no plan, just lots of firepower, exactly as he should be played, and has been in the comics. As far as Batman, well, the 14 cycle tone that he uses whenever he speaks just says it all. They might play a little fast and loose with the canon, but movie makers are hardly ever spot on to the comic/book, etc.

Very dark and Christopher Nolan had the balls to go there and it worked. a lot of images stick in your head. one of the best batman films. A grown up -Super hero saga film very close to the Graphic novel. He is not a Hero and therefore he is ... Heth Ledger's performance was outstanding.

Obviously, we compare each Batman movie to the first and this was by far the most audience-invloved version I've ever seen. Heath Ledger deserves an Oscar for his psychological and disturbing yet comical performance as the joker. Christian Bale should have been the original Batman. The special effects were amazing. Awesome cast that stretched each actors' abilities.

This movie went on and on. No sufficient plot or character development in one length, it went from A to D, then back to D, then K, basically all over the place. And it was difficult to understand what characters where saying and what they were talking about.
Action and special effects were decent.

This movie was painful, it just kept going and going, I thought three times it was over, but no the pain continued. There were ridiculous unrealistic twists, technically flawed transitions and just plain waste of time. Stay home and save your money.

Overall a good movie, but this did not live up to the hype that was created around it. The newness of Batman does not stay with this sequal. Joker is Fantastic from start to finish and 2-Face is OK. Expect to see a good movie, but not the best superhero movie of all time and you'll be fine.

Incredible. I was blown by this movie. I had huge expectations for the sequel but The Dark Knight far exceeded them. The Story in intricately woven together and the characters each work perfectly with the story. Heath Ledger gives a Oscar winning performance. The action scenes are amazing and there are plenty of them without seeming repetitive. Go see it at least once you wont be disappointed.

One of the best movies of all time. Story line was solid in this movie and not at one point do you feel unentertained or disappointed throughout the whole 2 and a half hours that is this epic movie. Every actor was spot on with their role and it is a shame that it was the last role of Heath Ledger because no one else can be the Joker. Period.

In my opinion, this movie ROCKS! I love Christian Bale as Batman. I also love the chemistry he has with Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. I believe this film must be seen on the big screen...I think it will lose some of the punch by watching it on a regular TV. I was lucky enough to see it in the grand Auditorium of the Warren theatre and you feel like you are participating in the movie. I love Heath Ledger as the Joker! I must confess, I went to the movie to see his last performance (it breaks my heart that he is gone)...but he deserves recognition for this performance. He did a fantastic job! As an added bonus, I was surprised to see Eric Roberts! He rarely seems to surface these days. Loved it!

This movie was beyond my expectations. Bale and Ledger are spectaculars. the best Batman movie ever made. Envolving story, and even at the middle of the movie you don't know what to expect, how The Joker will counterattack, but in the end, The Batman brings his game to a whole new level.
