Finally! A Joker for the New Mellinium! Heath Ledger played a perfect role as the "Joker". Straight from the comics to the big screen, his performance was as extraordinary as the villian himself . As dark as the Batman comics are so was this movie. They did not hold back nor should they have from the action scenes that included fighting, shooting, and death. This Movie was made for the true Batman comic readers. The Dark Night was just that. Thank you.

I think that the Dark Knight is truely the best Batman movie they have come out with so far. Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman and Aaron Eckhart all gave outstanding performances. Maggie Gyllenhaul (sorry if I spelled that wrong) also gave a strong performance. This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat and the special effects will not let you down.

This movie was well written well directed and extremely well acted! Heath Ledger out did himself completely! It is sad to have lost the brilliant actor however, this movie shows just how much talent he really had.
There were so many twists to the movie that it kept me guessing. This movie hands down is the movie of the summer. Chris Nolan did a spectacular job as did Maggie Gyllyenhal, Aaron Eckhart, (the marvellous) Michael Caine, and Christian Bale. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

I was incredibly impressed with this movie! It far surpassed my expectations. Heath Ledger performed a stunning Joker, much darker and disturbed than Jack Nicholson's interpretation in the original Batman. This movie definitely raised the bar for all superhero movies!!

Excellent movie. Heath Ledger doesn't act as the Joker; he becomes the Joker. His voice and demeanor fit the role perfectly. Christian Bale makes a terrific Batman. Michael Caine is great as Alfred. Gary Oldsman is superb as Gordon. The sets and makeup and everything make this the best Batman movie yet.

By far the best comic book based movie ever! Acting especially Ledger was something to behold! Also the musical score for this film was incredible. Especially in the joker seens, such ominous tones really added to the malevolence of the character! I can't say enough about the overall look and tone of the film. I think Nolan's vision of Batman is completely dead on and exactly how it should be! This movie is the new barometer for what a comic adaptation should and can be! Here's hoping that the Watchman can measure up, the bar is now and forever set exceptionally high!

I have been a Batman fan since the tender age of 6 or 7 when I used to watch re-runs of the Adam West series. I enjoted Michael Keaton as Batman. Val Kilmer's and George Clooney's movies were fun reminders of the old tv show. Then I saw batman Begins. THIS was the Batman I knew from years of collecting the comics. This was the definitive movie Batman.
I had been following production of The Dark Knight since they began casting. I was hesitant, at first, to hear of Heath Ledger as the Joker. But, the more I read, the more i wanted to see it. I was not disappointed.
The Dark Knight, by far, is the best comic-book movie I have seen in my lifetime. The story was solid. The actors knew their roles. Batman and the Joker were so brilliantly handled by Bale and Ledger that I swore I was in the comic book universe. All I can say is. "Wow!" The Dark Knight might even get an Oscar nomination and show that a comic-book film has the chops to rock the Academy.

I was amazed by the performances in this movie, by every actor in this movie, but alot needs to be said for Heath Ledger's last performance! His character acting is absolutely amazing and it is an absolute horror to have lost someone of his star and amazing acting ability at such a young age and in their prime. His performance in this movie speaks for itself. The director has taken the old washed out story of Batman and made it one for the ages. Heath Ledger made Jack Nicholson's Joker look mediocre in comparission. Leave your preconceptions at the door and run to see this movie!
