I liked Hancock but this is waaay better than that. It had a million things going on at once but it was very well organized and easy to understand. I never wanted it to end!

I gotta say, when I first heard Heath Ledger would play the Joker, I was extremely skeptical. But I acknowledge now that all my fears have been assuaged and I stand corrected. I now see that that there could have been no one better to play the role. The truth of the matter is this, any good movie needs an engaging protagonist (and Christian Bale is the best Batman ever) and, more importantly, a credible antagonist. And this is why the Dark Knight is so good. The Joker is the ultimate nemesis and Ledger's chilling portrayal mixed with an intelligent plot, makes this the best crime/drama/super hero movie that I have seen in a long time. Go see this movie. You won't regret it.

Absolutely wonderful movie that fully lived up to the hype. Batman is once again how he was always supposed to be...a brooding, feared vigilante. The entire cast was sensational, and as expected, Ledgers portrayal of the joker will always be a leading villian in movie history (of all time if you ask me). I didnt realize I was there for 2 1/2 hours...I was thoroughly entertained and left wanting more. It was phenominal and definitely a thrill for the true batman comic fans. Oscar buzz is genuinely warranted...and not just for the obvious, most talked about character. This movie wont disappoint!

This movie paled in comparison to Batman Begins with a lack-luster performance by the deceased Heath Leger as what Warner bros. calls the Joker. The hype surrounding this movie could be the reason for such a letdown in the overall execution. As for the fan hype surrounding the rumor mill of Legers Oscar nomination is nothing more than wishful thinking. In the event that WB would like to continue on with this Batman series and incorporate the character of the Joker but fear no one will put forth the same type of performance as Leger I suggest they take a close look at Ben Stein considering he is the only actor I can think of that is able to muster the same amount of dry monotone delivery as Leger did. The search for a good live action Joker continues I suppose. This review will probably cause a lot of people to get upset and discredit what I say because poor Heath Leger died so tragically. I am not saying what I am in this review to bash on the dead just to point out some facts the role called for more emotion than what was given. I personally don’t recall ever reading a single Batman story line where the Joker walked around and acted like a heroin addict.

What a great movie! Heath Ledger was wonderful- what a departure for him - he was incredible! The movie was action packed and well worth the money to see in the theatre. Although I do think it should have gotten an R rating instead of a PG-13 - it is really not a kids' movie.

Thankfully, this movie along with Batman Begins, has served to rectify the damage that the previous Batman movies did.
It was nice to see a realistic city, with realistic people as the backdrop for this movie; it served to bring about a much more believable story in comparison to the earlier series of Batman films.

Before the movie started I was hoping for the best. Not just for ledgers performance but the whole movie. This movie was spectacular from beginning to end!! The cast, the story, the cinematography, etc. Everything was awesome. It's been a long time since I've seen a movie I can't tare apart. At times you can watch a major movie and find holes in the story, or the actors were just ok or good. This movie was breathtaking. When the movie was over the only thing I could say was WOW!!! Bravo, Its about time.

Christian Bale is the most underrated actor period. Heath Ledger was AMAZING, and scary. The movie felt like it flew by, though it is 2 hrs and 30 min. I wanted to go right back and see it again, and I will!. Probably the most perfectly done movies ever, in every way. This will be a classic.

This is definitely the best movies of the summer/year. It's the best movie I've seen in a long time. Everyone did a fantastic job portraying their character. There has never been a better Joker! I loved this movie.

Overall, one of the best movies made this year and maybe the best comic book movies ever. Everything works, but the Joker is so threatening that he becomes uncomfortable to watch. It almost crosses the line into "Hostile" territory, just without showing the gore. Also, the plot does get a bit confusing. For those I can't recomment across the board. That said, the actors are great, smart plot, tight action, stunning twists, and just the right amount of macab humor.

Ledger gives a performance worthy of notoriety, aside from his tragedy. Believe the hype about him in this role- it would have earned him the highest film honors. Aside from his excellence, the conscience of the film is accurate and timely. Introducing the imperfect superhero to American audiences, the film will garner acclaim from a variety of literary critics.
It is truly a film not for children, and though the PG-13 rating is accurate, the "menacing" images should keep children from the theater. Overall awesome, but surreal at times.

The movie was amazing. Heath Ledger did the roll of the Joker Justice. Yes you may look at Jack Nicholsons performance to be one of the best, but he was comical, Ledgers performance gave the character more depth. Also, the stellar cast made siting in the theater for 2 1/2 hours worth while. The only thing that erked me was the actor change. I am a stickler to actors being changed in a particular roll so seeing a new actress as Rachel Daws through me off. But Bale and Ledger amazed me with thier performance so much that the actor change didn't matter. Its so sad that Ledger couldn't be here to see his masterpiece performance. He did his family, friends and fans proud.

This movie will, obviously, be the most talked about one of the summer, but in addition to that, not only did Ledger successfully live up to Nicholson's and Romero's mantles but created an almost entirely new character. It's terribly sad that he died much too soon, but he did leave behind a remarkable artifact of his talent in this film. Be prepared to be completely blown away by this movie and not to blink for two and a half hours. My only caution is that this is not typical comic book fare, and it would easily terrify many children (unlike Spiderman or Superman of late) because it is indeed a very, very dark adaptation.

Batman Begins was, by far, the best installment of the Batman movies. The return of Christain Bale and the high level of Batman Begins drew me to the theater for this one. This was equally as well done and Heath Ledger was a perfect Joker. He was dark, but still entertaining in a comical way. I can't imagine anyone not liking this movie.
