I thought the film stayed true to the comic book and realy portrayed the Joker as he really is- a psychotic madman who enjoys taunting Batman. Heath Ledger did an excelent job.
The film was action packed and kept me on the edge of my seat.
It may have been a little long but I enjoyed it.

I was very pleased with this movie so much so that I would go and see it agian, one thing is it did live up to the hype that the movie producers where giving it but not as much as some people were giving it, but I would say this is a must see for the summer.

t was incredible. I completely forgot that it was based off the comics until the end, it was not like other superhero movies, this way unbelievable. I am still in complete shock at the unbelievable directing, writing, and of course acting. I can see now why Heath Ledger had such a tragic death, he put himself so deep into that psychotic and creepy role he must have begun to believe he really was the Joker. Heath Ledger deserves an Oscar for that role, he was amazing. The acting throughout the movie, except for Maggie Gyllenhaal which was kinda flat and boring, was incredible. Christian bale did it once again but this time he had more personal problems he had to figure out. Gary Oldman did another outstanding job, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine delivered an awesome performance as well. Aaron Eckhart did extremely well as Harvey Dent/Two-Face.
Christopher Nolan did an outstanding job directing this movie. From the city panoramic scenes, to the character close ups, to the fight scenes, I was amazed at every moment of this film. His brother Johnathan Nolan did an amazing job writing a screenplay as well. David S. Goyer wrote an amazing adaptation from a comic, like I said, I forgot this was based off of a comic, this really felt like a Crime Saga more than anything. I think this film could win an Oscar for Best Picture, it was just so amazing on so many aspects.

I thought this movie was one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Not only was it an excellent "superhero" movie but just an excellent movie in general. The actors were passionate yet believable and the script was superb. It was so good to see a superhero movie that didn't seem like it was a comic book. It gave "real life" problems for Batman like how he would live these two lives and balance selflessness with self interest. I strongly do not encourage younger children to see this movie as it will probably turn out like the ceiling fan joke... over their heads.

Less than 24 hours before I was sitting in the theatre waiting for the second installment of the rebooted Batman Franchise to begin, I sat at home on my couch watching Batman Begins on FX. I observed Christopher Nolan’s incredible revitalization of our favorite caped crusader and Christian Bale’s first endeavor as the superhero himself. I reflected on how intelligent and impressive the film was all the while hoping that The Dark Knight would not be infected with the Hollywood poison of just being a half-a**ed attempt to rake in money from fans who would loyally flock to the theatre to see where the first movie dropped off.
Wow, was I wrong. I do not even know where to begin with this work of art that exceeded every expectation I had. Forget crowd pleasing summer popcorn flicks and the annual attempt at a stereotypical superhero movie. The Dark Knight was an astonishing film that I think left even its amazing prequel (Batman Begins) in the dust.
Much darker figuratively and literally than its predecessor, The Dark Knight is an incredible battle on screen for nearly 2 and a half hours. This movie is possibly the most gripping, dark, violent and intelligent movie I have ever seen. The plot moves swiftly but clearly. You won’t to go grab a soda in the middle of this one. I plan on seeing it again soon so I can pick up the parts of it that flew over my head the first time around. The gore and violence are amped up well beyond Batman Begins with a lot more squirmy moments (not for the faint of heart) but I found the violence to be very effective in showing characterization for the Joker and Batman’s increased brutality shows the deep conflict he was dealing with.
The acting was in a class all its own. I am in full support of Ledger for an Oscar. Like nothing I have ever seen, he is so buried in his character that I couldn’t help but have my eyes glued to him in every scene he is in. he steals the show. Christian Bale exceptionally delivers again as our resident caped crime fighter and as the troubled Bruce Wayne. Aaron Eckhart also showed an amazing performance and displayed amazing emotional toll with his character, and his line “You die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain,” sums up is character perfectly. Maggie Gyllenhaal is above and beyond Holme’s Rachael. All in all, The movie was cast perfectly. I couldn’t pick out a weak link if I tried. These guys were all on the same page acting wise and delivered beautifully.
I left this movie with what one critic in my local paper calls, “post movie stress disorder.” It took me a good half hour to sink back into my own life. This is complete success in the movie world in my opinion. I am an extremely cynical movie watcher and it takes an incredible cinematic achievement for me to truly embrace escapism and get lost in a movie without pointing out some flaw in the screenplay or criticize characterization. I was completely satisfied. This is what going to see a movie should be like. Do yourself a favor and go see this stunning piece of work by Christopher Nolan. A complete 10 out of 10.

This movie continues the gritty, adult action film that was revived in Batman Begins and takes it to a wonderfully twisted new level.
Small distractions include Maggie Gyllenhaal's impossible stretch to become Katie Holmes and minimal unbelievability as the police force is able to work and mobilize their forces way too efficiently.
You won't find a more enjoyable picture this summer and Heath Ledger will be sorely missed if there is a return of 'The Joker' in this series.

It was very good, probably would go see it again. Just to get the full story a little better there were parts I missed do to the loudness of the background music at times. Keith Ledger was a very good Joker. The one thing I didn't like was The Batmans voice kind of annoying and hard to listen to but over all a good movie

The movie started off a little slow, never really picked up its pace til about the middle. The movie is too long, 3 hours...not so much! It was overall a decent movie but I guess after the Hulk, I was expecting more. I would suggest it to friends but I'd tell them to wait until the movie came out on dvd, not worth $10 a ticket.

This movie was all it was cracked up to be and then some. Finally getting to the roots and reality with the potrayal of Batman and his foes. Heath Ledger was phenomenal, end of story. Regretfully he cannot do another film and I do not believe he can be replaced. Aaron Eckhart was great at potraying Harvey Dent and Two-Face. Gary Oldman and Michael Caine never fail to impress. Bale is and will be the best batman (I am a huge fan of Michael Keaton because he was the first). Maggie Gyllenhaal was 500 times better than Katie Holmes!!!! I wish we could edit her into Batman Begins. I was actually sad to see Rachel Dawes get blown up! Special effects were simple but fantastic to watch. Everyone captured the depravity and desparation of this film. The Dark Knight lived up to it's name as well as my expectations.

Wow. That's pretty much a good word to sum up my experience with The Dark Knight. But allow me to delve a little deeper. Christian Bale returns as Bruce Wayne/ Batman, and he does not disapoint. He steps back into this role like a well worn pair of sneakers and resumes his performance as the "Caped Crusader" in full form. The late Heath Ledger enters as the sinister Joker in a redefining of the movie version of this villain. His performance was dark, sinister, disturbing, and amazing. He gave breath to this villain like no other could. Aaron Eckhart stepped up as the noble Harvey Dent and then fell directly into the twisted role of Two Face. He played the part well and could not have done better. His transformation to Two Face was flawless, not to mention a horrific sight, and his move from good to malicious was incredible enough to strike fear into me. As a whole, Dark Knight is one of Christopher Nolan's greatest achievements and I expect him to deliver consistantly in future installments of this franchise.

The hype may impaire your ability to view this masterpiece for what it is ... a comic book hero movie too well produced for it's genre. The Dark Night has given the term irony a new meaning, The more I say the more I take away from the thrill.
Don't expect anyone under thirteen to understand it, or any regular Batman fan (no offense) to appreciate the "five course gourmet" fair which this "DARK" version presents. Go with an empty mind and you might ... just might be enjoy this rare bit of cinematic rollercoster.

For awhile I thought this summer was going to be a complete bust but thanks to this fine film it was saved. Iron Man was great but this was awesome. It saddens me though that we will not have Heath Ledger around to continue with the series.

The Dark Knight definitely keeps you interested the entire movie. Endless suspense! Don't talk during the moving or something else might pop up! Some might not like the fast pace, but I loved it. Definitely more violent and dark then Batman Begins so be careful about bringing the kids! But if you like a suspenseful, fast paced, dark action packed movie you can't miss this show in theaters!

From the very beginning you are sucked into a dangerous dark world where an action scene is only a few seconds away. The combination of the Joker's dark humor, along with the stunnug effects of the film make The Dark Knight my vote for best film of the year. Truly the only complaint I have with this movie is the way the director decided to tie up the movie at the end. Having the last words of the film be the title is way too clicheed for my taste. But one again this is a must see movie, but maybe not for the youngest in the family... The film is quite gruesome in a few scenes. I laughed, I cried, I lost fifteen pounds, I cannot reccomend this FILM enough.

This is one of the very best of the comic book action films. "The Dark Knight" is one of the most mature of these films because it genuinely explored the complexity of human nature. It is not only because it is Heath Ledger's last film that I am saying his performance made the film better. Although is performance was powerful. However, his work together with that of the other actors gave the director the opportunity to take this film to another level of achievement.
Even if you don't want to look to closely at the psychological aspect, it is a kick-butt action film! I loved it because I felt completely involved in the story as it unfolded. I will probably see it again.
