When Christian Bale and Maggie Gyllenhall are the worst actors on a film you know it's a good one. Heath Ledger's performance is amazing, as well as Aaron Eckhart's.

This movie was incredible, and despite my misgivings, Heath Ledger put on the most amazing Joker performance I've ever seen. The slap in the face comes from the tragic circumstance that we will never get another movie with that Joker in it.

This movie was everything it was advertised to be. It's almost impossible to live up to all that hype but this one came close.
Ledger's Joker was unusually macabre, savagely ruthless and criminally psychopathic enough for the ages
This is also a beautiful looking film. As a lifelong Chicagoan, I can say that the city has never looked better on film.
All characters well thought out and developed, the Dent/Rachel storyline could have had a little more to it but there were enough twists and turns to keep you guessing all the way.

My nephew and I went to see this movie for his birthday. I can say that I definitely would not have gone without him, remembering the disasterous third installment of the earlier trilogy.
I was quite impressed with both the story line, and the acting by all involved. Heath Ledger put in an amazing performance as the Joker. The story was fresh, and the fast pace and ever evolving characters ensured that I was at the edge of my seat for the entire 2 1/2 hours.
Highly recommended!

See this movie just to experience how incredible an actor was the late Heath Ledger. It was bittersweet watching it and realizing it was one of the last performances of Heath's tragically short life. Christian Bale also continues to be a formidable batman, putting Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney to shame. What is not to love about the two supporting, but strong performaces of Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine!

The Dark Knight was beyond amazing. As always Christian Bale was terrific as Batman and the entire movie kept you on the edge. But Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker was incredible! He was just true evil. I really loved when Jack Nicholson played him in the first movie but Ledger's performance was over the top. It is such a shame that he is gone. I would highly recommend this movie and have to several friends and family. Careful taking the kids though. It's rated PG-13 for a reason.

Joker was amazing! Batman's voice was a little overplayed, that was the only annoying part. I was surprised by two-face and scarecrow.My buddy was convinced the movie was going to end about 3 times, haha. I feel the ending made room for another movie in the future. Overall, I'd definitely pay to see it again.

I loved this movie. I feel this is the best Batman movie made to date. I cant wait for it to come out on DVD. I will be buying it on the first day. I dont recommend this movie for young children though. I took my 9 and 5 year old and to be honest, there were parts where they buried their heads. But for young adults and older....AWESOME! Heath Ledger was spectacular!!

This movie was not only a pinnacle of the summer but a realization of what it took for one person to fully aspire to be the best at something. Heath Ledger outplays every character in the movie. I had heard all the reviews and Heath Ledger's performance as the joker is fantastic. If you thought Jack immortalized the character, wait until you see this.
This is the perfect tie in to Batman Begins and the telling of the dark adult version of Batman. Batman is known for being able to bend the rules unlike Superman who stands for truth, justice and the American way. In keeping with true bat-lore the joker helps to mold Batman into the dark protector who everyone needs and no one wants to be seen defending.
Two-face was well played as well. Much darker and more tortured than that of Tommy Lee Jones.
We were able to see the director's cut with 15 minutes extra footage!
CAN'T WAIT until Chris Nolan and Christian Bale bring us the next one!

My main motivation for seeing "The Dark Knight" was to enjoy Heath Ledger's much talked about performance. I was not disappointed Ledger was amazing, The buzz is correct. See it!
I was not disappointed by the film either. It is what a summer blockbuster is made of, Cool graphics, incredible stunts and tons of explosions.
I found the pacing of the film to be somewhat slow, but slow pacing means more time in the air conditioned theatre. So grab a bucket of popcorn and enjoy!

I have seen every Batman movie made. Hands down this is the best. By developing the characters, adding subplots and a few twists and turns you could not predict what was coming next. I never once looked down at my watch. As everyone has already said the Joker was awsome. But we can not forget the writer and director who put one hell of a movie together!

'The Dark Knight,' at a minimum, lives up to the hype. In some ways, I found it even exceeded it. This is one of the most compelling films I've seen in a long time. What strikes me most is that afterwards I found myself dwelling on all the different characters, not just Batman and Joker. That these two iconic figures did not completely overshadow everyone else is simply amazing, and shows that great care and deliberation was taken in the scripting and execution of the story. The performances were incredible, and every technical aspect was virtually flawless.
My only caution would be to parents of young children. The PG-13 rating was, in my opinion, generous. There is no gore to speak of and no sexuality; the language is fairly clean. However, the subject matter is very mature, and many of the images (and implied actions) are disturbing. Chances are, most of the ramifications of the moral dilemmas presented will pass right over younger heads, but if you take young children, be prepared for talks afterward and maybe a night or two of, "Can I sleep in here tonight?"

I am a long time fan of the comics and was very pleased with the previous movie adaptation Batman Begins. This movie was even better that that. This was not just a good superhero movie or a good sequel, this was the Godfather part 2 of superhero movies. It was darker, it was more expansive, and Heath Ledger's portrail of the Joker was down right distrubing (in a good way). This movie deserves an Oscar.

20+ years from now when we're looking back at the "Golden Age of Comics in Cinema", this will rank amongst the top three films. Why? The "classic Batman" look of the main character, the dark mood, and...oh yeah, Heath Ledger. His performance as the Joker will be seen as probably the most stunning villain ever in a film adaptation of a comic. A masterful performance, unfortunately, never to be seen again in a Batman film.

This movie was the best movie of the year. The Joker was far better than Jack Nicholson's. I can't wait until I see it again in IMAX. Hopefully the Studio doesn't try and capitalize and use new actors, directors, make it more family friendly and ruin this franchise like in the 90's. This is one of the best sequels ever!
