This movie was superb - though it ran about 30 minutes and one side story too long. Ledger's "Joker" will top charts of movie villains for decades, and once again Bale brings depth to a previously campy Hollywood write-off.

Batman: The Dark Knight is arguably the best super hero movie of all time. The only movie which is even comparable is last years Spiderman III. That being said, I thought there were stunning performances all around by the entire cast. I thought Christian Bale's performance in this iteration of the Batman saga was truly dark, and seemed so real. Also, I thought that Heath Ledger's portrayal of Joker completely blew Jack Nicholson's version of the same character out of the water. The stunning twist of adding the Two-Face villain in this film also caught me off guard. My only criticism of this movie is that it seemed especially long (at 2.5 hrs), however the time passes quickly as this movie is just chock full of action.

This movie takes off with an interesting plot and fantastic action right in the beginning and doesn't slow down until the final credits. The acting is very good and Heath Ledger will be sorely missed in the next installment of this series. If you enjoyed Batman Begins you will surely enjoy The Dark Knight!

This was a wonderful movie. Even though it was a long movie, it did not seem so. It was so entirely engaging that it kept your interest the entire time. My only problem with the movie was that I did not see Maggie as a love interest. I do not think that visually she met up to the expectations that I would have had for the two men involved with her. Other than that the movie was exceptional. I like her as a actress, she just did not do it for me in this part. Heath Ledger was unbelievable as the Joker. He should be nominated for an Oscar for this role. All of the actors were superb!

Excellent directing by Christopher Nolan and great casting. Aaron Eckhart, Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman are all fantastic, but Heath Ledger really steals the show as the Joker.

this movie completely exceeded all expectations! i had heard some great reviews, but i was still pleased beyond anything i had heard. i left feeling so sad that heath ledger has left us wanting more of a character that he will never again be able to reprise. he should win the academy award for his portrayal as well as the movie. i realized that graphic violence and language are not necessary when the movie excels on it's story and superb acting.

This movie was very very cool and intriguing (and I'm a girly girl). My only problem with it was the love interest/love story. The whole love story seemed extraneous. Maggie Gyllenhal did not seem like the type of gal two hot guys would want to fight over. The rest of the movie was GREAT. Heath Ledger was amazing.

I don’t think I have ever seen a movie that is suppose to be a comic book movie not be anything like what a comic book movie is suppose to be and in this case that’s a great thing. The Dark Knight is as far removed from Batman Begins as Batman Begins was from the 80’s & 90’s Batman Movies. It is a delve into the dark side of human nature. Keith Ledger performance as “the Joker” was outstanding and after seeing this movie I can almost see how the Character he played may have consumed him and possibly led to his death. The Joker is truly a psychopath in this movie he kills who ever get in his path and is out to prove that there is no hope in true humanity. As is the case in life the fine line between brilliance and insanity is a thin one and the Joker shows that as well with his terroristic mind games. Keith really steals the show with not only his attitude but also his mannerisms the joker has a sort of crick in his neck and a dark stare of a soulless man with the spark of insanity to be quite honest its so real its disturbing. The Joker also as a lot of wise cracks in the movie which are subdued but funny. (Spoiler Alert) He has one were him and the Batman are face to face and he tells Batman he completes him….hilarious. Over all I have to agree that Keith Ledger deserves at the very least an Oscar nomination. The other thing I liked was that the movie was shot in Chicago and there were no sets. Gotham is seen this time mostly in the daylight and shown as actual city. This really helps with the believability and brings a sense of realness to the movie. The movie is so well written that there were times when I forgot I was watching a Batman movie. I am 12 hours removed from seeing it and I am still digesting it. I plan on seeing it again because for one it’s well worth it and two I know there are some things I missed and I have to know. The Only downside to the movie is this is really not a Kids movie and parents really should note the PG-13 warning it could cause nightmares even in adults. The Dark Knight is a super hero Movie in a category all by it self and I would say once the dust has settled from this that it will one of those movies that redefines how comic book movies should be done.

Thrilling movie with many surprises. There was nothing that was even remotely cliche about this movie, as can be the case with Superhero films. From the opening sequence, to the end, there was barely time to breath from all the action, suspense and thought provoking cinematography. Not only is it the top hero pic of the year, but easily is one of the best films of the year. Period.

The "star" of this movie, Christian Bale, gave a somewhat stiff performance next to the fluid and lively performance of his co-star, Heath Ledger. All the other reviews praise Ledger's amazing performance as a psycho-killer, totally and utter blowing away Nicholson's "Crazy Circus Clown" portrayal of the Joker. I, however, am giving my sympathy to Batman himself, who really took a back seat in this movie. This was a great movie; it was less of a Super Hero movie and more of a crime-drama. Christopher Nolan should be proud.

One of the top five pictures that I have ever seen in my entire life. Heath Ledger gives an amazing performance. I was a big fan of the previous Batman series and I never thought that anyone could top the first two Batman movies by TIm Burton, but these movies make the previous Batmans look pretty hokey and dumb. If I sound like I'm rambling it's only because I can't think of the words to describe the awesomeness of this movie. This is a much watch film; if you don't catch this you're really missing out.

I went to see this movie with my 13 year old son and his friend. It was by far the best movie we had seen in years! There is not a single dull moment. Heath Ledger is spectacular in the role of the joker.
