The action in the was very excellent. The plot had a lot going on in it. The producers and the director could had made a second part to this movie involving something with two face. It was long but I thought it was a lot going on it. But overall it was good movie.

The way Batman should be done. Christopher Nolan has crafted another masterpiece. There was a precipitous drop off in quality between The original Tim Burton Batman and the sequel, Batman Returns (not to mention the abysmal follow ups). There is no sophomore slump here. The Dark Knight not only meets the high quality mark that Batman Begins set, it surpasses it. Pleasant surprises galore, including a cameo from the first movie that gave the movie a real sense of continuity. Superb acting, including a brilliant Heath Ledger as the Joker, who was truly the personification of random chaos and insanity. My only hanging point was what my friend calls the "Bat Voice." I staunchly defended Christian Bale's vocal portrayal in Batman Begins as a necessary element of intimidating criminals, but here, he just sounds like a victim of voice immodulation. It's hard to yell in a whisper and not sound like a fool. Morgan Freeman gives his usual excellent performance, Michael Cain is still a God, Gary Oldman continues his evolution into Commissioner Jim Gordon, Aaron Eckhart was an admirable, if stiff, Harvey Dent, and Maggie Gyllenhaal finally gives Rachel Dawes some character and believable emotion, unlike her predecessor, the Pod Person known as Katie Holmes. Watch for her shining moment when she and Harvey are both placed in peril.
Top notch stuff.

Good movie, but too long.
Atmosphereics were good, a bit brighter than Batman Begins, with Gotham being a little less squaller ridden (and a lot more like Chicago).
Ledger was very good (and creepy) as the Joker; Bale was pretty wooden as Bruce Wayne and especially as Batman. Maggie G looked a bit old, sad to say. Aaron Eckhart was good as Harvey Dent.
Chase scenes were good, but couldn't help but think about "Hancock" and the cost of the collateral damage. Overall, 4 stars.

From the previews I could already tell that I'd love it but many movies have promised amazement and failed to deliver in the past. However Dark Knight not only delivered, it amazed. Every actor gave their all and Ledger was utterly brilliant, a fantastic pinnacle to his career and a fitting epithet for an exceptional actor.

My husband and I have been reading the Dark Knight comic for some time and I believe that Hollywood has put one of the best comic book series on screen. Christain Bale plays batman with enough edge to make him more believable than any other that has played the role. The movie itself was not only well written but the cast was outstanding. Because a comic book has many villians and stories it's hard to say what hollywood will choose to put on the big screen, I was delighted that the movie incorporated a new villian (besides the joker) and even though the movie was 2 hours and 30 minutes it was not drawn out for too long.
Great action and cinematography! I would see this movie again.

An epic crime movie. Better than any superhero movie I've ever seen. Bale excels even more than in Batman Begins, more confident in his role and searching for a way out of being Batman. Ledger delivers an unforgettable, unparalelled performance. Caine, Freeman, Oldman, and Eckhart also impress. Worth seeing, and worth seeing multiple times to really pick up on the movie's thematic details and impressive plotlines.

After playing a gay cowboy, nobody in their right mind could have imagined Heath Ledger portraying one of the evilest villains of all time. Let me tell you folks, this flaming cowboy delivers as does the rest of the cast! The plot is non-stop action, yet there is somehow room for cinematic drama and timeless movie quotes. If you like good movies, go see this!

I'll make it short...It was a little slow to start but when it kicks in it really gets good. It was a little long at 21/2 hours but overall I really enjoyed it. The story the action and the acting were all top notch. Heath Ledger was incredible and it kinda made me said knowing we wont see this talented actor again.

This movie was absolutely outstanding. Better than I imagined. Heath Ledger's portrayal as the Joker was mesmerizing. The Dark Knight certainly surpasses the first installment of Batman Begins. Christian Bale's character was even darker than his portrayal of Baatman then the first. This film is def a must see. Men will be amazed at the fight and car chasing scenes. I know I was and would recommentd this film to anyone.

I have seen this movie twice already and nothing and no one will be able to live up to Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker. If someone envisioned what the character of the Joker looked like on screen, this would be it. From his creepy laugh to "why so serious" tone, Heath keeps you hooked throughout the entire movie. This movie lives up perfectly to all of the hype it received and it does not surprise me that Oscar nominations are already being talked about. It seems like The Dark Knight could have been a movie just about the Joker alone, but the fight between Batman and the Joker is classic and it's true that Batman "completes" the Joker, as he says during the movie. I would recommend everyone to go see this amazing movie.

THe best of the three =. Ledger would have been given props despited his tragedy. I would not take my younger kids. We took our 11 year old but left the 7and 5 at home.

Excellent continuation of this series. Great twists and turns. LIked the fact that this time the city was not as dark but the story was even darker. Only comment would be that it is quite violent so care should be taken as to what age of child you bring
