This film was an amazing example of what a hand full of men with good intentions can do when given a good script. The psychosis of the Joker was believable, and the Batman preformed to my expectations. There were many twists and turns in the plot, and a few forgotten characters, but over all, it sits high on my list of best films of all time.

I thought this movie was good. It wasn't as good as the first movie, but it was still pretty good.
The Joker was the best part of the movie. Heath Ledger really did a great job of becoming the bizarre, scary, disgusting and quirky character.
Two face didn't get enough "face time." His character development was a little weak for me. Maybe should have been in a sequel instead of the last 15 minutes of the movie. How do you go from being so good to so bad in such a short amount of time.
The movie was too long. I kept thinking okay this is it...no wait now this is it...Uh what time is it anyway?
And my last complaint is that Katie Holmes was not in it. I knew she wasn't in it, but it still made me sad. She was just the perfect fit for this role. Maggie is good an all, but didn't have the same vibe as Katie.
Overall, good movie. And I look forward to buying the dvd when it is released.

The new batman has taken a lot of hype and criticism but it lived up to the hype and received rave reviews...so i ask.....Why so serious?
In Heath Ledgers final performance they could have at least killed the joker somehow!

I could have done without 2 Face, and the Bat Man voice gave me and my girlfriend a few laughs afterwards, but I would definitely give two thumbs up for the movie just because of Heath as the Joker!

IMO, The Dark Knight is by the the best of the Batman franchise, including all Schumacher, Burton, and Nolan varieties. The movie actually had a plot and good villians. Mr. Freeze and the Penguin were absent, which is a great thing. Heath Ledger and Christian Bale both did first rate jobs bringing the characters to life. I think the film excells in that it blends action, drama, and a crime saga together seemelssly. The film is over 2 and a half hours long, but at no time did it seem tedious or monotonous.
I would recommend this movie to anyone, and will definately go see it again.

Not only a great superhero movie but a great movie. Well written, well directed, and well performed by all especially the late Heath Ledger. He has by far advanced by leaps and bounds as an actor with his performance in this movie. I looked back at his other performances in other movies and I can't seem to figure out how he nailed The Joker with his performance. He really must have put a lot of time and an enormous amount of effort to prepare for this complex character. As I stated before he was spot on with his performance.

The movie is quite good, but by no means a masterpiece in the mold of what the ridiculous hype surrounding the film makes it out to be. There exist too many unexplained happenings or characters that appear to be in too many places at once around the city. Overall, the movie is wildly enjoyable, with some superb acting, but it's missing just enough to make it a fail being the "film of the year/decade/millenium" as it's being called.

Very Good. Just make sure you go to the bathroom beforehand. Everyone started running abotu 20 minutes left in the movie and the line afterwards was stretch outside the door.

I can say that this is, in my opinion, the best film made about the Dark Knight. This isn't in any way related to the campy versions of The Batman in previous incarnations but rather to the grittier graphic novels of Frank Miller. I found the movie's story to be shockingly complex for a movie marketed as a summer blockbuster. Cerebral, dark, and layered. I saw it two nights in a row just to try to grasp on to the many levels this film was working on. One thing I can say is that I would not recommend this movie to children under 13 and even then they will probably be seeing a different movie than an adult. There are enough explosions and spectacle to keep their attention but the film isn't really about that. It's about the limits of the human soul, primary Bruce Wayne's. As both The Batman and himself (who are slowly merging into one) he wisely believes that the real heroism of Gotham should be left to Harvey Dent, a face of honest politics rather than a masked vigilante.
Then of course there is The Joker. Walking chaos. An anarchist (and as everyone has raved, given an intimidating and scarily authentic edge by late actor Heath Ledger) The Joker presents to The Batman the ultimate challenge. How do you take on someone who has nothing to lose? Bruce has found serious limitations that force him to look into his own psyche and capabilities. The Joker forces upon Gotham an unpredictable terror that gives all its citizens a similar look into each of themselves as well. This film is largely about the human psyche really. I find it largely removed from the Batman films of the 90's which were more show than story and therefore more marketable and kid-friendly. Be forewarned. This is an intense, dark, and intelligent film even to an adult. In my opinion, the best Batman film ever made to date for all its complexities and nuances. The story, the acting (especially by a very method Heath Ledger), the direction, and consistent mood make this the most satisfying ride into Gotham that has ever been put on film.

Heath Ledger was awesome as the Joker. He deserves an Oscar for his performance. The fight scenes were very good. Special effects were dynamite! Acting in general was very good. However, the story was weak, it ran on too long and had many dead spots. Had it been condensed it could have been more interesting. Too many departs from the comics. Scarecrow? Why even have him in the show for his contribution! And the beginning and end of Two Face all in one episode? What was with the vulnerability of Batman with a dog bite and bullet bringing him down?
But it had its moments.... :)

This movie was great! Each of the actors in this film nailed their performances, many going far beyond what I assumed they were capable of, it was fantastic!
Although almost every aspect of this movie was perfect, the make up and special effects for "Two Face" were less than spectacular...they lacked quality and realism. One could argue that the "comic" nature of these effects were a tribute to the roots of this series, but to me they were a throw back to bad "The Mummy" special effects and gave the movie a few moments that were tainted by unintended camp.

I must say this movie was excellent and definitely exceeded my expectations. The on-the-edge-your-seat action packed sequences and Heath Ledger's twisted, psychotic deliverance as The Joker was the best I have experienced & seen so far this year. I hope that he would receive at least an Oscar Nomination posthumously. I remember seeing "Batman" in 1989 w/Jack Nicholson playing the role of The Joker. His was more comical and campy compared Heath's more dark, sinister, manical version of The Joker. I would recommend this movie to anyone!

The Dark Knight was by far one of the best movies I've seen this summer. There was really only one or two parts that seemed to drag out, but even at that, it created a story line. I would most definitely recommend this movie to everyone!
