The Dark Knight is the BEST movie I have seen in a very long time. So good that I saw it at 9AM and again at 9PM the same day! Heath Ledger's performance was dead on what the joker should be dark and disturbing. The action keeps rolling through the entire movie and you don't want it to stop. Yes the movie is long but there is never a dull moment. Best comic movie so far, it even blows the spiderman trilogy out of the water. Go see this movie!

The Dark Knight is truly one of the best Batman films ever. It was well written, preformed, and directed. It keeps you entertained from start to finish, and leaves you with a huge desire for the next installment. All around great movie and I think the best movie of the year so far.

LOVED it! Heath Ledger had really come a long way in his career. It really is a shame we won't be seeing any more of him! The movie was well writen... the acting was excellent! I really can't say much more other than this was one of the best movies I have seen in a LONG tmie!

Not only was it the best batman movie i've seen, but it was also the best movie period that i've seen in a long time. It's well worth your movie, I felt like I watch two outstanding movies for the price of one. The movie was completely forfulling, it started great and ended great, with tons of action in between.

Christopher Nolan has accomplished quite a feat with The Dark Knight.
He has crafted an incredibly complex and intelligent superhero movie that works on every level.
There is not a character in this film that doesn't directly serve the story in some way. How about that? Sure, there's plenty of action, plenty of heroics, plenty of cool-factor, but there is also heart. Quite a bit of it at that.
Bale is once again picture perfect playing the duality of Bruce Wayne/Batman. He shows depth and pathos, and brings a real humanity to the character.
The entire supporting cast is amazing, with a standout performance by Eckhart as the tragic Harvey Dent/Two Face that completely pulls you in to his pride and his pain.
And where does one even start when talking about the late Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker in this film? Wow. Just wow. Such a deep and multi layered performance. So terrifying and terrifyingly real. This is a Joker that is finally a true adversary for The Batman. A force of nature, complete anarchy. The theme of duality that runs throughout the film is never more clear than it is between these two characters. The immovable object meeting the unstoppable force. When the Joker tells Batman "You complete me" it is both hilarious, and so abviously true that you find yourself in complete agreement. These two men are destined to do battle agains each other forever.
Ledger brings so much to the table in his performance that it's almost too much to take in all at once. This joker is not the funny clown played by Jack Nicholson, this Joker is truly insane and incredibly scary. Watching this performance onscreen, it is easy to forget that Ledger is no longer with us because he is so ALIVE on the screen.
This is a fantastic film, though really not a film for young children. They would have a hard time following the story, and would find some of the movie very frightening.
I can't say enough about this film. Go see it.
Then go see it again.

Great story with fantastic visual effects.
While Ledger's performance was incredible, the combined cast made this movie more than an action film.
Maggie's performance wasn't poor, but it was forgettable, otherwise each actor really pulled you in to the story.
***Do not read below if you haven't seen
The story was great accept for losing 2 face so quickly after spending a considerable time creating the character in front of the audience.
The acting was superb, but Bale's change of voice for Batman did get a bit overdone in just a couple parts.
Any minor flaws I pointed out are superficial. the movie is one of the best.

Been there done that with Batman. Did not feel any depth to any of the characters, but the Joker. And he became annoying after a while. Too long and drawn out. Checked my watch multiple times to see if it was ever going to end. Didn't want to root for any character good or evil. Excellent advertising though. They sure got me in there, I just didn't feel enough story to keep me going. I recommend waiting for DVD. I wish I did. At least I would have saved the $30 in concessions for my family. Some will really love this movie...not me! I like mindless entertainment every now and again...but this didn't have much direction. But that is my opinion.

dont call this the best comic book adaption ever b/c it is soooo much greater than that. the dark knight was so well written and never lets you go from the excellent beginning sequence. heath ledge was just so amazing as the joker, it makes you sad about what couldve been. what happens in the movie and everything is just so diabolical and the movie is terrific.

Run to see this, but don't get a large soda--at 2 1/2 hours it's a long one! Heath Ledger is amazing, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman were clearly having fun with their bit parts. My only complaint is that whatever they did to Christian Bale's teeth made him lisp weirdly when he did the "deep Batman voice" thing. Distracting. Oddly distracting. But otherwise an amazing movie--Jack Nicholson as Joker? What a joke--he's older than yesterday's news...

This movie is definitely one of my favorites. I just saw it last night, and never has two and a half hours gone by so fast! I never wanted it to end! Heath Ledger's performance was just wonderful. He's done such a variety of roles, and this was one of his best ever. It's so sad what happened to him, but from this movie, we can remember him as a great actor and a great person. Anyway, sorry - like I said, it was just the best! Everyone should see it - oh, buy tickets online...they're always sold out!

I will start by saying that although this movie is one of the best comic book adaptations to date, what really takes the movie from "good" to "great" is the late Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker. It is a brilliant performance by a very talented actor. It makes the movie worthy of multiple viewings.

Going into the Dark Knight I knew it had a lot to live up to. Batman Begins was a grittier, more realistic take on the caped crusader and blew every other Batman film away excepting Tim Burton's original Batman which fell to 2nd best of all time. Now both get in line behind the Dark Knight.
Where Begins was gritty and dark, Knight is visually more clear, shot in both cooler color tones and often more wide open shots. Gotham doesn't seem as claustrophobic as in Begins.
Knight also continues the realistic feel of recent franchise relaunches (Casino Royale) by portraying the Joker as the true Madman Terrorist. No Rube Goldberg-esque machines for the Joker. Simple tools like gasoline and bullets and his everpresent knives are all it takes to turn Gotham on it's head. Truly a masterful piece of acting by the late Heath Ledger. His Joker is frightening and mesmerizing. His menace stands a fitting opposite of Christian Bale's steely determination.
Christopher Nolan really took the time to deliver both excellent cinematography and character development. Every main character and even several secondary ones find time in a movie that seemed like it lasted forever but did not drag for one second. Even after two and half hours I wanted more!
I can't wait to see it again!

As a 21st century Batman movie, this was the best. Heath Ledger did an outstanding job and Christian Bale was excellent as always. I will say that this is not a Batman movie I will take my children under 10 to see. In the theatre where we watched the movie was many families with very small children and babies. We heard many babies screaming because they were frightened. The movie was great but not great for little ones.
