Amazingly interesting movie. This movie properly depicts the human dichotomy. Christopher Nolan shows how many individual's act and react to certain situations. It also destroys the false perception that every individual who is deemed a "criminal" is immoral.
Heath Ledger is a wonderful actor. He portrays the Joker perfectly and has a bone-chilling performance. The reality he brings to this fictional character is frightening. I only hope that the Academy will give credit where it is due.

I thought that the pre-release buzz may have been more about hyping the movie than the movie itself, but I was so wrong; this movie was EXCELLENT! The movie moved along at a great pace. There were hardly any lulls in the film and it holds your attention throughout. You are sitting there for 2 1/2 hours, but it really doesn't feel like it. Heath Ledger's performance stole the film and is Oscar-worthy. The movie was darker in tone than any of the previous films, but it was necessary in order to portray the depth of pychosis the villians possessed. Well-written, well-performed, well-shot, this film does everything well.

This movie rocks! Heath Ledger did live long enough to see himself as the villain as quoted in the movie. He was the most brilliant joker ever to hit the movie screen. This movie was action packed throughout the whole 2 ½ hours. In my opinion this was the best movie sequel ever for a comic book story line.

There are a number of categories, including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor, in which this excellent film could be a true contender. This has raised the bar for "comic book" films to a new height. In fact, this isn't anything like any other movie based on a comic book character. It is a true character study of two tormented souls who are driven to do the things they do by events in their past and provoked further by the events they face in the present. The action evokes memories of scenes from some of the great movies of the past, including "the Godfather," "Heat," and even the great Cagney classic from years ago,"White Heat." The supporting cast is superb and the special effects, excellent in their own right, are used more to extract a cathartic reaction from the audience than for mere spectacle. Despite all of the superlative work of the cast and fine, crisp direction of Christoper Nolan, this picture will unfortunately probably be overlooked at Oscar time because of the attitude of Hollywood toward "comic book" movies. One can only hope the people who end up ultimately deciding the Oscars realize this is a Best Picture that has taken its characters from the pages of a comic book, but is so much more than that...so very much more. Do not miss this film.

this was the best movie ever. I went to the midnight showing and it was just AHHHHHHMAZING. No joke. There were even some really funny parts, but then you like think about the fact that people are dying when this happens, so it's actually creepy. If you don't go see this movie, you suck at life.

This is the third instance that Nolan, Bale and Caine come together to create a master piece (the other two being Batman Begins and The Prestige). This movie was absolutely perfect. Perfect story, flawless direction, thriling plot twists and the greatest acting of this decade. Every scene with The Joker brought chills down my spine. The absolute secrecy behind The Joker's motives were well displayed throughout the movie and the ending is stunning. I never thought Tim Burton's version could ever be beaten but say hello to Nolan and his masterpiece. It would be one of the greatest tasks to follow this with an even better sequel. I'm sure he'll pull it off.

the dark knight is the best comic book movie thus far. it's also one of the best movies I've ever seen. I'm not a comic book fan per se, but I have to say that this film impressed me through and through. it's a great crime drama, gripping character study, & through and through great action movie. heath ledger and aaron eckhart alone are more than worth the price of admission... and the rest of the cast delivers in spades.
like I said, the best comic book movie yet, and one of the best I've seen. certainly worth various emmy nominations, and definitely worth the respect and admiration of movie-goers and critics alike. do yourself a favor and see it more than once.

The best Batman yet. A very smart script that keeps you involved in every moment of the film. The characters are all brilliantly acted, with even the minors ones like the mob bosses perfectly casted. All of the hype about Heath Ledger is 100% on the money. He is amazing, as are the other 3 main characters. Not one to be missed!

I'm sure i am not the only one here when I say Joker was "the best super villain ever in a movie!". Heath Ledger played the part extremely believable as the Joker ever was to be. The Joker was the only reason for me to see the movie and it was the best comic book movie to date. You will not be let down.

Easily the best of all the Batman flix. Only Maggie Gyllenhall made me wonder what the casting director was thinking. Who is casting the female roles in these action movies? (Must be the same casting director as in Iron Man.) The Batman series deserves better than Plain Jane female roles. And tell her to stand up, for goodness sake!
That said, What an amazing acting job by Heath Ledger. And, what a sad series of events that he will never reprise the role. Had he lived, this movie would have put him over the top on the list of current Best Actors. Hard to believe anyone would have been able to out "over the top" Jack Nicholson in the Joker role, but that's exactly what Ledger did.
All the other characters did a fantastic job as well, but it was The Joker who stole the screen.
SEE IT!!!

This has to be one of the darkest Batman movies made. Bruce Wayne was forced to make choices that pale in comparision to the first movie. I recommend this movie to anyone thinking about seeing it.
