If anyone tells you this is like the comic book, take them at their word. the feel is like the 'knightfall' crossover series in the 90s, only like this is one of the early issues, when you don't know what to expect. Every character has been given more depth, and it is a realistic portrayal of the world batman inhabits, flaws and all. movie critics are right to say it's good; saying it's not like the comic book is the only real insult their reviews makes.

I am and have been a huge Batman fan and for that matter comic book movie fan. I was a kid and really fell in love when I was 9 and saw the 89 Batman with Keaton and Nicholson. My favorite is Batman, to the level that I have sculpted and made many Batsuits over the years . The Dark Knight simply said is by far not just the best comic book movie adaption I have ever seen but transends comic film to just being an amazing piece of cinema. writing ,Acting, special effects driven by real stunts. this film has it all and leaves nothing to be desired. A breathtaking reinvision of the Joker and
a total thrill ride powered by plot . Cant wait to see it again!!!

Out of all the batman movies, this is by far the best one. The acting was excellent. the only draw back was that the movie was too long. other than that great movie...heath ledger did an excellent job as joker...if the director decides to do another batman he will have a hard time fillin in the joker's shoes.

Dark Knight was a bit long for me, and alot of the time all the action covered the storyline, I couldn't follow who were the good guys or the bad guys! However, I enjoyed Heath Ledger's final performance, as the Joker! He was pure evil, well done!

Three long years is a long wait. Ever since the end of Batman Begins where Gordon shows the Joker card, I have been waiting for this movie. With all of the hype, the waiting and even the unfortunate death of Heath Ledger, I did not think there was any way this movie could possibly be as good as I thought it would be. This movie is so much better than that. Heath Ledger's performance is stellar and in many ways very disturbing. His performance is the most memorable of all and actually shadows the story of Batman for most of the movie. Two and a half hours and I feel like the movie still is not long enough. I cannot wait for the Bluray release or the definite sequel.

Right before the movie started I was worried that The Dark Night would not be the masterpiece we all had hoped for. With the exception of a few aspects, namely the killing off of a character that would have produced a great movie, The Dark Knight delivered on its promise. There are plenty of movies that appear that they are over and then a twist keeps the plot moving, there are few movies that succeed in this device. Every twist intensified the story and the drama. While some plot elements were easy to predict, the overall product was so surprising and powerful that all else was forgiven. One of the best movies I have personally ever seen.

The structure of the film was good in which the dynamism between character development and personification in action is evident. The underlying unsettling reality of this fiction is in the restating of a need to give truth on alternative terms, not in objective ones. On the negative, the protagonist and antagonist both lie, in varying degrees, while in a deeper level they both tell the truth--see what the do, not necessarily what they say. On the positive, both main characters state truth in dynamism. You must listen to them by their actions--both demand a return to masculine initiative opposed to diplomatic multiplicity, a return to primal reality amidst the sophistication of contemporary pseudonyms of political corruption. This is ironic, since both character polar extremes imbibe outwardly the distortion of their collective opposer, the hypocrisy of collective society's veneer of vice and virtue. The weakness in the film is in the on screen believability of the female antagonist, who for whatever reason is presented as-is and the general audience is expected to connect with her plight, because their supposed to. Unwittingly, one does, yet this personally is aquired through subjective imposition onto the character, not necessarily by virtue of screenplay. The tertiary male character presents a realistic adaption of aquiesce with a differing locality of justice--as the viewer will then determine easily from the beginning what this locus will be--quite different from the primary and secondary men in script. It is a challenging film concerning the question of "what is truth" while at the same time presenting the unsettling conclusion which makes for bittersweet realisms that engender a nobler nature.

The best film I've seen in the last five years, at LEAST. The initial impression I got from people running around saying that Heath Ledger deserved an Oscar for his performance as "The Joker" was that they were purely basing their comment off of his passing. After seeing "The Dark Knight", I was completely blown away. His best roll by far; disturbingly funny, wicked, amazing. "The Joker" was my favorite character throughout the film (and I'm a major Michael Caine fan as well) and had me laughing at some truly disturbing moments. That is talent.

Overall, I would say this was the best Batman movie yet. The technology, gadgets, and surprise ending was very entertaining. I am a huge fan of Batman and hope the director will continue to make a third one. I was shocked at the end about the Joker, So I would hope the director will find a different way for the third movie to start. Heath Ledger really did an outstanding job on the Joker and studied the role well.

Finally a villian worhty of the Dark Knight and even a cameo from the SCARECROW.... Heath Ledger is the star of this show and he made me believe in his psychosis and his genius.. I can only hope that the next Batman will have someone half as good to play the next villian. The bar has been raised, this was not just another comic book movie, yet a great movie. This movie was very well written, acted, shot, and edited. All other comic book movies have got to be great to even compete for the same box office success.. Get great actors, get great writers and pay them well and you will get a great movie. Heath Ledger should get the golden statue and become the second man in history besides the "network" star who was "mad as hell and aint gonna take it anymore" to win it postumously.....

I am a huge Batman fan and was enthralled with Batman Begins b/c of the horrible turn that the movies took after Batman Returns. Needless to say, I was excited to see the next installment, but I wasn't ready for what they dished out. It's Batman in true form and this one is great in every way, from plot, story telling and character development to great fight scenes and incredible special effects. I'll add that Heath Ledger made himself a legend by this performance and blew Jack Nicholson out of the water completely as the better Joker. (Nothing against Jack though). It's a long movie, but it has to be and it is worth every second that they take to tell the story of Batman. Enjoy!

This movie was what you come in expecting. It brings a wide variety of cards to the table from a great (somewhat wrong ) story line to a great cast of actors, including an AMAZING performance from the late Heath Ledger. I myself was not a huge batman fan, but i was completeely emersed into the story and it was an amazing experience. There are some discrepancies between the old batman, starring Jim carrey and Tommy Lee Jones of how two face came to be, but there are great twists and when it comes towards later it slows down, almost concludiong then picks up again to finish. great movie, a little long, and oh, please don't pick up your phone in the end because i want to watch the movie , not be involved in your personal phone call.

The overall feel of the movie was great, action packed, whitty, super hero movie everyone exspected. But Heath Ledger was what gave it that extra something. He played his part so well, making him a villian everyone loved. Never was i huge fan of Ledger...until this movie. Heath Ledger steals the show of course and should be a shoe-in for the Oscar. His brilliant performance makes this the greatest superhero, or perhaps I should say supervillain, movie ever made. Great cast and everyone played their subordinate roles more than capably, but Ledger's was the only Oscar worthy performance. This truly was his movie. Loved it and Heath will be missed!

I'll make this short and sweat: The Dark Knight is not only the best superhero movie ever, but it belongs within the handful of all time classics. Every tool used to tell this story is at it's best, from the story, to the top notch cast, the music, and the directing. The plot for this iteration of Batman is very dark, very serious and very good. An excellent movie and yes, Heath Ledger does an excellent acting job. This movie brings a whole new level of realism and authenticity to the super hero genre.
