Typically I see A movie and say "Yeah it was good." I don't have any real feelings for movies. This is the only move that I have had the urge to go watch about five times. The Joker is the craziest and funniest villain I have ever seen. I don't want to give anything away, but this movie is full of surprises. I don't think I will ever recommend a movie more than this one.

THE DARK KNIGHT had everything you can ask for in a movie, Triple the monthly recommended dose of action, an understandable storyline, a psycho, well known characters. I turned around and saw people biting their nails out of anxiety. Best way for Heath Ledger to be remembered by.

In most 'Super Hero' genre movies, it's the usual action that drives the plot, and the emotion is a reaction, rather than the force. And, up until now, very VERY predictable and formulaic.
In every movie I have ever seen featuring a villain, it has a motive, or a past, or a reason fro the villainy. Animal villains don't need a reason unless it is given them by the author .writer/director, as diseased, tampered with or just plain animalistic cravings. The Joker in Dark Knight for the first time is given no back story, no reason, no excuse. He kills…because he does. Sometimes there IS no reason. Michael Caine’s character explains it succinctly when he uses a personal story of a jewel thief in a jungle that just threw away the jewels after killing many people in the attempt. No ‘rational’ explanation.
That is what makes The Joker in Dark Knight so disturbing, and memorable in any form of media. He is just...inhuman, or non-animal. Hannibal Lecter was once ‘normal’, and although there is no real explaining his behavior, he had a past, and we can relate. The Joker here laughs at his own impending death, not expecting saving. Just does not care, because caring would be human, or alive. This Joker is already dead and has become something 'else’. Something not to try to figure out, reason with or investigate. Just simply needs destroying, at all costs. Because this 'bad guy' brings out the actual evil in those he comes across. Even today’s terrorists have a reason for killing and destruction. The Dark Knight’s Joker has no such minor flaws. He just destroys the same way a virus does. This Joker IS a virus, and just as a phage spreads destruction and chaos to everything it touches, although the death of the host will lead to it’s end, so does this Joker. Christian Bale’s Bat Man comes to term with this, and must accept into himself the corruption for just having come in contact with it. But survives it, irrevocably changed.
THAT…..is what villainy really is. And what makes The Dark Knight stand out and above all Hero movies that came before.

If it weren't for the Joker (Ledger) it this movie, it might not haved received an excellent rating in my book. While it seemed at times to draw-on a little long, the movie brought the viewer back in with just the sight of the sinister character. While never knowing what might be next from the ruthless psychopath made me root for the batman, I silently always wanted more crazy; more Joker.

A great thrill ride! Ledger's performance is and will always remain unforgetable. He became totally lost in the character. Bale was excellent, as were the supporting cast. The benchmark comic hero film.

The movie is too loud, too long, poorly directed and a waste of talent. It lacks coherence and development of theme or themes. The strength of a movie with strong actors is to balance the those roles; this movie fails to do so in favor of one of the actors at the expense of the film. The character of the Joker predominates and minimizes the role of Batman. Christian Bale is a strong actor whose role is reduced to a cipher. The decision to use a voice box when he speaks as Batman further minimizes his effectiveness. It was hard to understand what he was saying. It was difficult to understand much of what was happening as the movie went along. Themes were not developed fully nor was there a logical blending of those themes. In short a mish-mosh. Simply the footprint of a director who has lost control and cannot finish. The ending is beyond comprehension. The editing was tilted in favor of the Joker losing the tension between the characters and the strength of that performance and that of the visuals.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Christian Bale is a stone cold fox and kicks butt. Despite all the attention Heath Ledger's performance was getting, Bale did an awesome performance that made the film solid.

Simply amazing. One of the best movies in recent memory. The story moves along without any dead time or slow moments. The action sequences and twists are top notch. Heath Ledger gives a great and sometimes eerie performance. Aaron Eckhart does an equally stellar job as Harvey Dent. I will be watching this movie on the big screen again, but this time on IMAX.

This is not only by far the best comic book movie ever made! but its also my favorite movie of all time now. This movie was so well thought out! The action was constant, It all came across very real as though someone really could pull off a batman.... if your a billionaire that is. :p That acting was amazing.. even though I think they should have gotten a new girl! She looks so old with the baggy eyes! that just drove me up the wall I have to admit. Bale did once again an amazing job as The Batman! Heath stole the movie! I pretty much forgot that it was him in the movie cause it just didn't seem like him at all!!!! He was amazing!!! I plan on watching this movie over and over again! I hope yall go see it to!

I loved this movie!!! I absolutely loved it. Christian Bale is excellent as usual and Heath Ledger oh my. He takes The Joker to a whole new place. Can we say Psychotic. It was 2 1/2 hrs of sheer on the edge of my seat, couldn't even get up to go to the bathroom. A movie hasn't done that to me in a long time. It had a great plot, I only wish the Joker was in it more often and they hadn't tried to tie up loose ends so quickly I think it should've been 3 hrs, I still would've seen it! I recommend it to anyone who likes action packed movies. And it wasn't predictable to me at all. Very suspenseful WOW.

I'm definately an avid movie fan; I watch quite a lot of movies. There are so many and so many different types of movies that I found it difficult to ever name my one favorite or the "perfect movie" when asked, until now. The Dark Knight is the best movie I have ever seen. Every character is played to perfection, and as most people will agree, Heath Ledger as the Joker especially. He displayed the true personality of the Joker and captured the audiences' attention throughout the movie. The plot is action packed and will keep you guessing with plenty of engaging twists and turns. This is the must see movie of the year!

This movie is chock full of hidden messages and philosophical questions. Batman is a mirror to view how we handle our own “Dark Night of the Soul” experiences. Will we do the right thing- even when no one is looking? Tiny Lister's role was small yet spoke volumes about the heart of man. Heath Ledger is and was an incredible actor. As a matter of fact, this entire cast was well chosen and each person brought their A-game. Job well done!

Yeah yeah, the whole "Last Ledger film" ordeal. I must say, he played an AMAZING joker.
But watching this solely just for the sake of being a Batman fan. MAN! This movie is packed with action, suspense, and a good load of the coolest freaking superhero in the universe.
It was so good, I needed to use the restroom in the beginning of the movie and did not move an inch until the very end!

Great for all ages except gradeschool. Quite graphic for children under 13. The casting was great and the Joker was my favorite. Sorry Keith Ledger will not be making more movies/

From this weekend forward, the genre of superhero movies will never be looked at the same thanks to The Dark Knight. The smart storytelling and subtext of morality was so thoroughly engaging that it almost eclipsed the fact that this is a superhero movie.
Chris Nolan has painted a masterpiece of a film, and if it is not nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture (Heath Ledger will get his Posthumous Oscar), the snub will be obvious.
Do not miss the opportunity to see this movie on the big screen. Heath Ledger's performance should be considered teaching material for aspiring actors. This movie will no doubt break all kinds of sales records. Go see this movie.
