Heath Ledger delivered a performance unrivaled by any of his past roles. But he did it without outshining Christian Bale, who allows the deep emotional characteristics of the Batman to surface the way I remember.

The acting was superb, especially the performance of the late heath ledger. Easier to understand the demons he must have faced playing such a dark character. This movie is a tribute to a great actor. Gotham City appeared to be less dark, showing the brilliance of the Chicago skyline. Magnificent.

I found this movie packed with all the goodies that one can expect from a summerblockbuster. It climbs up this steep incline and dangles in the air just enough to heighten you anxieties. Then you race down and up the incredible action scenes, the unexpected shocks, the superb acting by Heath Ledger (Which I think stole the show), the neverending twists and turns of events, slowing down just long enough for you to catch you breath before you are catapulted into the stratosphere. I believe that twenty minutes could have been written out. @.5 hours is about my limits. The makers ensured that this movie had more action the 1. Indi Jones, Spiderman and the Matrix, without looking cheesy or camp. Bravo!

It was a little long. I don't know if it was because we had a 4 & 5 year old with us or if it was actually a little long that what it should have been. I liked the action scenes. Overall it was a good movie and worth the ticket price.

Best joker ever, best news in my opinion is that there must be another one, there has to be a new Wayne Manor, Gotham Needs Batman and there are several moments that literally leave you 'hanging in midair as to what happens'

The Dark Knight stays true to the comic book revision! Which is most important to the big fans of comic books and Batman. I recommend this movie to all of my friends and family with the suggestion that adults should not bring their young children into this movie. it is rated PG-13 for a reason. Please think about your children and how they would react to see this much violence. Also think of the other movie goers-The last thing they want is a screaming kid in the theatre while they are trying to watch the movie!

Cristian Bale did a great job of acting in this move, however I think even he was overshadowed by the performance of Heath Ledger.
The Joker, and of course his quips, made the movie what it was. great to watch.

Can't wait to go back and see it again. The movie is over 2 hours long but you wouldn't know it! A lot of action and the Joker is fun to watch. Leave your kids at home though.

Although the movie was long, a suspenseful aura was always present, and the movie never stalled. Surely the darkest of all the DC comic movies, the PG-13 rating spared us from unnecessary gore. The imagination is always more powerful and lasting than the eyes anyway. The 3-4 consectuive stories within the movie, could have been trimmed to shorten the movie length, but when they are this good- why would you?

The Dark Knight was, so far, the best live-action film in the history of the Batman saga. Notwithstanding that Heath Ledger, in his final completed film, delivered what is without a doubt the most sinister portrayal of the Joker that will have ever occurred, the film was superbly cast in all of its major rolls. Christian Bale has succeeded where many other actors have failed in capturing the wholeness of the Batman persona, dark, but honest and likable. He doesn't try to be funny as Batman and is able to carry the darkness to a new level. Aaron Eckart also did a great job in his role...
However, I am sure that this movie will inspire some interesting night's sleep for a few people out there who were not quite ready for the darkness.

Usually walking into a movie with high expections is a bad thing and lessens the movie experience. With The Dark Knight, it even exceeded those high expections. The Joker steals the show IMHO. Good job!!

Something for the fans of the comics and accessible enough for those who only know the first movie, this far exceeds the traditional paradigms of the super hero movie. There is a compelling human story which serves as a metaphor for existence. This movie transcends the small potatoes love story and tackles uncommon themes such as Order/Chaos, Responsibility/Duty, Love/Regrett, and mostly Sacrifice/Values.
Only one word to the wise, this movie is NOT FOR KIDS. I have already seen the movie twice and some of the kids in the theater were scared to death. Seriously, even if you think your kids will be okay... you should screen it first to be safe.

Everything about this movie was excellent. At least what I was able to see. The power went out at the theater and they could not get it restored, so I'll be going to see it again to get in those last 10-15 minutes!

A Challenge was there to make a movie (Batman Begins) based on a character that has already 4 movies fairly recently released and then to continue the story with a sequel (The Dark Knight).
And they did it, and did it well. The movie lacks nothing in Drama, Action and Surprise. Even if you know the comic characters well and try to predict the outcomes you will be surprised on how the outcomes hit the screen. Well worth the box office 2X..... then go get the DVD. Bravo
