With all the rave and dramatized reviews, i guess my expectations were higher than expected. There were two things that can't go unnoticed. Why does batman speak like he is out of breath? It seems like Christian is trying too hard. He spoke in this deep, smoker-like, out of shape voice when he had the suit on. However, Heath's role as the joker was magnificent.

While i would recommend this movie, i would be sure to tell parents to keep their 9 year olds and younger children at home. It is very intense with plenty of violence. Even though it is rated PG-13 many parents will take their young children because it is Batman.
The Joker steals the show and it is worth seeing this movie just to see him in action!

Excellent movie. While I think i can easily say that it is definitely the best movie of the decade, I would have to say that the role of the joker was incredible. Could not have been played any better. The movie was amazing. But the joker was all that much better.

Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker is perfect. Christian Bale yet again is amazing as Batman and Aaron Eckhart does a great job as Harvey Dent. The action scenes were fantastic and if you don't like this movie you have a horrible taste in movies.

The movie is long, but you don't really notice it. They grab your attention from the beginning and hold onto it the whole way through. Ledger turned in an Oscar-worthy performance for sure. I was astounded. Effects, fight scenes, etc., were all just wonderful.

Let's face it, sequels are, by and large, never as good as the first with few exceptions. This may be one of them. With a few periods here and there where the picture seemed to lag, this is truly an exhausting ride that is worth experiencing. Action - you bet, and plenty of it, but the movie is truly driven by the plot of a tale that is worth telling, and hardly lets up enough to let you breathe. While there is some sentimentality to laud the performance of Ledger, it is certainly praise that is not misplaced. Truly, this is a Joker that is no laughing matter. Sure, we snicker and giggle at his asides, mannerisms, and quips - but make no mistake, this is a clown where the menace under the mirth is near palpable, even in the safety of the movie theater. Oscar worthy? Possible. A performance that can be called great. Definetely.

Dark Knight was a thrill ride with plenty of noise. Yet, I feel the director wanted to give the viewer a little hope for the future. I don't need to feel good at the end of a film. But, to feel neutral, well that's quite an achievement. I have to admit, the film's greatest achievement was how I was unsure of the future after viewing it. My wife and I took a nice drive though some beautiful parks in Chicago to cleanse our consciouses. After having done so, we came out the better. The acting was great, for an action comic piece. Heath WAS off the charts. And, the support staff were perfect. I, who am mostly critical of the big Hollywood cheesefest, had to give it up. This subconscious thriller delved right into our time and questions, how far would you be willing to go to protect your love ones? What would you give up or be willing to do yourself? Or, would you just leave it to someone else? Sacrifice and no bliss. Bravo, on this one.

I think the movie was excellent.
However, the theater that showed the movie, The Grove in Los Angeles made the overall experience uncomfortable. The temperature in the theater was unbearable. I spoke to management and nothing changed. If I were Warner Brothers I would police the theaters that are showing their movie to see the circumstances in which it is shown supports the quality of the movie.

The movie was good. The joker stole the show. Oscar performance by Heath, rest in peace. I found it very annoying how Batman spoke in a deep raspy voice. It was almost too much, too fake trying to be tough. Me personaly I dont like movies that run over 2 hours, I felt like I was watching Ben HUR. I was waiting for the big flashing Intermission sign to flash on screen. Other than that, great action, and its good to see a dark side of batman movies instead of the fluffy bubblegum movies of the past.

The movie was just incredible. Not only one of the best super hero films I have ever seen but also one of the best films out there. Christian Bale returns as batman and heath Ledger makes an appearance as the joker. After seeing the film, I would have to say that it was the best Joker I have ever seen. Heath Ledger is really the person that drives the film. Whenever the Joker is on screen, you can’t help but stay at the edge of your seat and wonder what will happen next. His performance as the joker was just incredible.
The story is also great. It’s a very dark story and will push batman to new heights. Throughout the film batman is constantly being pushed into breaking the moral code he lives by. In this movie, you will see a much darker batman than you will have seen in any other movie.
Everyone should watch the movie. In my opinion its one of the best films to come out this year.

There's enough material in this movie for two movies. Two and a half hours long but exciting the whole way. I thought they were setting things up for a sequel but I got the resolution of the setups. I might have appreciated a slightly longer character development of one of the antagonists, but I'm still satisfied. I'm probably going to have to see it again. Excellent themes and characters.

Great themes applicable to our day! How do you defeat evil that LOVES being evil? How do you defeat evil that does not play by any rules and has no regard for human life? How do you defeat evil without becoming evil yourself?
This is the one of the most brilliant dramas ever conceived dealing with good and evil, and it is wrapped in stunning visuals, superb music, intricate plot, and great acting.
This is the greatest Batman ever, and perhaps one of the greatest films of all time.

I saw this movie Saturday and on Sunday they were showing Batman Forever and the one after that on television. After seeing the new one the old ones suck! The look so fake, cartoony, and have no story line. This movie is great and there is no reason not to see it. I hadn't even planned to see it but my cousin was visiting from another state and had seen it at 3 am opening night and he wanted to see it again. Now I'm going to take my girlfriend to it, because it was so good!!!

My husband, 14 year old and I went to see this over the weekend. Heath Ledger's portrayal of the joker was unbelievable! it was a good way to spend 2 1/2 hours!!! There was a ton of action, suspense and visual effects! The story line was great and the cast was awesome!!!
