OMG!! I love this movie! While I am a fan of Batman from way back when, the Joker stole my heart. His sense of humor was right on...his planning...just...oh, it was GREAT!! I would pay to see this movie again!

I love this movie the most because it is so different from the other batman movies. It feels so real. The characters aren't "comic booky," in fact you almost forget that Gotham is a fictional city. Okay, now to talk about the character that in my opinion made this movie what it is, the Joker. Heath Ledger's performance was absolutely phenomenal. Every scene the Joker was in he stole the show, and during the scenes that he wasn't in I was anxiously anticipating his return. I'm afraid that no one will play the joker as well as Heath did.

Enjoyed it as much as the first one. New characters were great, especailly the Joker. Heath's performance was awesome. Chrsitian Bale always a pleasure to watch. I'll be watching it again with kids and most likely buy DVD once it's out.

Sort of bittersweet what a good job Heath did, I'm not sure anyone else could do that well. And the movie sets up what will be a long time rivalry between Batman and The Joker, I don't know how they will follow this. This is a great film even not having seen the first.

This was a great movie, even if you've never heard of Batman. The acting was great (thank god katie holmes was gone), the story was very dark and thoughtful about what really makes a hero. As batman comes to grips with the idea of "What sacrifices are we really willing to make for our fellow man" and "Are people good or are they bad, at their core", you can see him change as a person and an icon.

Excellent movie - I'm not shouting oscar performance, but heath ledger is amazingly sinister as the Joker and though he has a few good one-liners (jokes so to speak) - it is always a consistent character - definitely fear inducing. The only problem I saw with the movie is how Batman's voice was consistently lower than Bruce Waynes. It made it seem a little artificial - but otherwise one of the best renderings of a comic book series I've ever seen.

The movie was excellent, great special effects and action sequences, however, it's Heath Ledger's performance that I went to see and he didn't disappoint. Heath puts on a brilliant performance as The Joker but it was almost sad watching him onscreen. He was a wonderful actor and this movie is just one more example of how we will never know what might have been if he had lived.

Just when you think Nolan couldn't make the plot anymore complicated - it gets more complicated. The story was wonderfully written and delivered with stellar performances from Oldman, Ledger, Freeman, Gylenhal(sp?), Eikhart(sp?) and Bale. Dark Knight keeps you intrigued in it's multi-faceted characters; truely forcing the audience to understand and, to an extent, accept the morale questions posed by the movie's themes. You see the quandaries each character is confronted with and the difficult decisions they make. It makes you question your own standards of right and wrong.
A true pychological blast. And all the awesome pyrotechnics and action doesn't hurt either!

If you have even a remote interest in the "crime-drama" genre of movie, then stop reading and go see this movie asap. That is, of course, if you haven't seen it already.
Many people have mentioned Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker, and at the risk of beating a dead horse, I will as well. I simply cannot adequately convey, with the English language, how incredible he was. I have seen the movie twice now, and both times I couldn't wait between scenes until the Joker's face appeared again. For any Heath Ledger fan, this movie is a must, and even for those who have very little idea of who he is, you are in for a treat. This kind of performance only happens every few years or so; go see it.

Heath Ledger gives a performance worthy of his final act. I saw Jack's impression of the Joker in the initial installment but Ledger sets a new precedent for villainous charaters. By far the best bad guy I've ever seen. RIP
