I am not a big fan of Sci-Fi movies and wanted to see this movie. This movie blew my expectations and it was fantastic. I didn't feel like watching a sci-fi at all. Excellent movie and the best movie of 2009. i would definitely go another time.

I do not normally like Sci-Fi but I loved this movie. Most importantly 2hours 40 minutes FLEW by. I agree with some of the other reviewers the plot itself was predictable but the special affects are amazing.
We took our 6 and 8 year old boys. They did NOT move the entire time - that should say it all there! I don't understand why it was PG-13. There is some language but it was definitely not every other word. There was maybe 1 scene of kissing which was nothing. And, yes, there is violence, but there is no gory blood shots.
Great movie - go see it on the big screen.

They Should hang this movie in Louvre as Masterpiece of a New Generation. Nothing like I ve seen before. 4 stars people...are you serious...you are probably blind. I will watch it with my wife 3D IMAX again! Tomorrow,...and then we taking a niece....so this would be probably the first movie I will watch 3 times in one weekend:) Oh Year...4 times...I ll be watching it with my buddies as well.. Total Joy Ride...dont miss it. You have to witness the revolution of cinematography first hand!!!!!

Overall this was a great movie, but it didnt meat my expectiations. Dont get me wrong, it was still an exelent movie and would recomend it to anyone. I think i was taken in a little bit too much with the hype and was expecting more. But i do have to say it had the best effects of any movie i've ever seen. It was my first 3-D movie i've seen and it took me about 10 min to get used to it. Thought it was gonna give me a headache at first but i adjusted quickly to it. the story line was great but a little bit predictable. I took a girl to it that hates anything si-fi and she ended up realy liking it. Overall it was worth the money to see it in 3-D in the theater. Def gonna buy it when it gets to dvd also.

Well, all i can say is interesting... I can't decide whether or not I like it or not.. it was a good movie, but the acting was ok... but i guess i would have to say that i like it... Somehow it doesn't look fake and they did a good job on all the graphics and the storyline i thought was super creative and incredible... But it was still veryyyyyy interesting..
But i am goin to go and say that it was a good movie.. and i WOULD recommend seeing it

Have no fear, this movie is an awesome experience. When transferred to 2-d this film is not done justice as the aliens end up looking fake and the movie looks more like a videogame than a film. However, when seen in 3-d the film takes on a quality of realism that has never before been seen in film. In 3-d the aliens look real and the movie as a whole looks extremely real. The 3-d helps you get lost in the world which makes the film much more of a moving experience than any other film I have seen.
In short, the trailers make this film look horrible, but the film itself, when seen in 3-d, is utterly awesome.

To me this is a movie of the destruction of the Rain Forest and the parallels are great. Pay the extra and see in 3D it is worth it. It was like seeing Jurastic Park for the first time. The special effect are great.

This movie blew my expectations, as I'm sure most of the reviewers have said. I usually don't hold out much hope for hyped up movies as they're usually a big flop and they're trying to get as many people in on opening weekend as possible. This one on the other hand deserves the praise.
It has a little length to it (being 2 hours 40 minutes), but it just kept you so drawn into the world that you didn't notice.
A true underdog story, with a reasonable amount of drama, mixed up amongst the intense action sequences. Not much more I can say, except go enjoy it. I watched it in 3D, in my opinion I don't think that's necessary, but it doesn't hurt.

Easily the most visually stunning film I've ever seen. After five minutes, you forget that the world you're seeing doesn't actually exist, such is the level and the quality of the visual effects. The story is good, a little predictable, but it moves along a good pace. I never once caught myself looking at my watch, even though the film is close to 3 hours long. Good acting, amazing visuals, and a good story, 300 million well spent.

The movie is a gift of many artists and the vision of one extraordinary film maker. We are literally asked to see through the eyes of the Na'vi, and the 3D experience was marvelous.
This is the first 3D film I have ever been to and the first FIRST showing I have ever attended. Jake Scully's crippled veteran is simply a metaphor for our own incapacity to see ourselves as children of this planet. Our consciousness already inhabits avatar vessels that have been given to us.
I am still thinking about Sigourney Weaver's character. It was great to see humanity as the munchkins!

This movie is unlike any other 3D movie that has ever been made. Top quality animation that is very believable and realistic. I felt physically pulled into the world of Pandora. For anybody who sees movies on a regular basis, the plot line will not surprise them one bit. Yet it is solid and is in line with many other movies of this genre such as Dances With Wolves and Jurassic Park.

This movie was visually mind-blowing! It is a futuristic love story with a do the right thing lesson. I did not see the movie in 3-D and I am still in awe of what I saw. The movie felt like it was stimulating my brain through my eyes. I loved this movie. I thought the movie theatres would be packed at 1201 a.m. and was disappointed that they were not. It will be interesting to see if what the rest of the world thinks. I believe that James Cameron has another successful movie in his portfolio.
