I'm not easily enthralled and I never write reviews on movies. I almost passed this IMAX 3D movie up because of some skeptical reviews. WOW that would have been a BIG mistake. This Movie delivers! The Blue People are HUGE! a few things in the movie you find yourself saying "What?....that really doesn't make sense" but I was so caught up in the story I didn't mind. I'll have to see it again to catch everything. it Reminds me of the first time I saw Jurassic Park or The Matrix. Try to see this movie IMAX 3D, it was almost the best part! Thank You James Cameron!!

The best thing about this movie was the graphics and vision to create such masterpiece. Everything else was whack such as the story line/script! The movie had a slow and boring beginning, i had to watch it twice because i dozed off the first time...

What a great movie! The effects were amazing. The colors alone were mesmerizing. It was well cast and the story line was engaging. I barely noticed the length of the film. I saw it in both formats and recommend the 3D while it is still in theaters. Parents, be advised there is a lot of language, but it is true to the character in the film. This movie will send you on visual journey you will want to experience again. It is a new high in the movie industry.

It was a fantastic movie that all should see! We do not have 3-D or IMAX here! Our Friends went with us, they really enjoyed it also........We will recommend others to watch it! The filmmakers need to make more movies like this one! It held your interests and was very exciting to watch........we did not realize how time flew by so quickly! We wanted this movie to continue!

What an incredible movie! The cinematography and digitiliization was astounding! Best part of this movie is, there was good acting. Which transcends this movie from being just an action thriller loaded with ton's of eye candy.
It's a real challenge to commit time to a movie this long, but everything made complete sense as the storyline played out.
I did opt for the "plain jane" version of Avatar, thought 2&1/2 hours a long time to commit to a 3-D experience

My wife and I went to the ordinary version - non-3D non-Imax as she gets motion sick very easily. We both thought the movie was phenomenal. The visual appeal is fantastic, the story line is great and the animation/real combination is flawless. You forget what is animated and real right away, it all becomes real. A definite must see.

The movie was awesome, and although I generally berate the current movies for being all 20-40 minutes too long, I was not overwhelmed by the time, -- it held me throughout. Exciting and awesome.

I think there is something more to this movie than the superb visual effects. The idea of connecting (literally) with nature is something extraodinary spiritual. It made me acknowledge the fact that we as humans have an impending need for links among ourselves and our surroundings. Avatar depicts this idea in a beautiful and fantastic way.

I am definitely in love with AVATAR, but I’ll try to be balanced. Truly if James Cameron’s were humble he’d ask a good dialog writer to caress his characters’ words to sound less clichéd. And yes this story has been told before. But those are only minor distractions from the beauty and spectacle of this cinematic phenomenon. I enjoyed Cameron’s retelling of classic stories and themes through his state of the art computer graphics imagination. And also his cautionary tale about Western Civilization’s self centered obsession with destroying paradise here on earth or elsewhere. It is a film with romance and adventure. But bottom line: it is the most immersing sensory butt kicking experience you’ll ever have in a movie theatre. Don’t miss it!

If I were stranded on a deserted island and could only watch one movie for the rest of my life, I would choose this one. It brings you everything... laughter, tears, joy, fear, victory, loss, strong moral story.
The story line clearly speaks to the selfish and self-centered tendencies of human race and our mentality to take what we want with no regards to the harm created. Good lesson for the kids to learn young.

A dazzling, brilliantly shot movie, with color and images popping off the screen. However the story was a series of tired movie cliches rolled up into one plot that left you exhausted in a bad way after its 2 hours and 40 minutes were over. The movie never touches you, and it doesn't really make you think, despite the overtones of environmental awareness, anti-war politics and a message of "get to know the foreign person/race before you judge."

The special effects were quite impressive, but the story's been told since the beginning of time. Outsider (read superior beings,in their minds) comes in to save the poor natives; boy meets girl, boy gets girl. Also, Star Wars was ripped off big time.

Nicely told story with great effects. The 3D effects certainly gave the film 'depth' , I found myself wanting to brush away bugs or embers. The story line kind of got lost in the effects a few times, but overall this is a great movie.

The plot was good, the filming and CG were beautiful but the movie was about 40 minutes too long. 2 hours should be the max for any movie. I was impressed with it though and would watch it again if I could split it up into 2 viewings.

Amazing, the CG didn't really seem CG even though you knew it. Didn't see the movie in 3D, but the graphics were very good in the regular showing. Movie storyline held your interest from start to finish. Ready for the DVD and the sequel.

I can't help but to be in love with this movie. The unbelieveable beauty, art direction and cinematography. I can't believe how detailed and real everything looked, it's so colorful. I loved the action, love story, visual this movie gives. I had a very happy feeling after seeing it. I saw this on the UltraScreen and wouldn't see it any other way. I don't know if I would do the 3D because I have motion sickness, and their are flying scenes with this movie. I have and will continue to tell everyone to see this movie, and at the theatres!!!

Wow! The IMAX 3D experience really makes a movie come alive! I felt like all of my senses were being fully stimulated during this movie, all they needed to add was the smell of the forest! I'm sure movies with smell with be next! Watching this movie was such a pleasure, a real escape into another land- a pleasure to watch and a storyline to ponder. I love a movie that challenges your views a bit and gives you something to mull over! I would highly recommend this movie and I can't wait to see part 2 as well as more movies in IMAX 3D truly a cool experience!

Just two things distinguish Avatar from all the old time cowboys and Indians B movies: high tech special effects and the Indians (whoops Na'vi) win. The battle sequences were overly long and just plain boring if you could forget they were depicting death all around. Where the plot is not just plain simplistic, it's fool of holes and unexplained twists and turns. My spouse and I were not impressed.

I absolutely loved Avatar and like many others, wound up rooting for the Na'vi. The cinema grpahics were something sure not to be seen again for many a year. Cameron's imagination and insight to this is unbelieveable. While the serious Critics tend to pick this movie apart for names like Unobtainable for the elements the earthlings wanted, I think they could sit back and enjoy the colorful Pandora and her inhabitants and learn that it is all about living in harmony with nature and each other.
I am thoroughly planning on going back and seeing it again, too and yes, if it comes out on DVD you can bet I'll have a copy.

Going to the movies is never going to be the same after seeing this movie. Calling it a movie is a drastic understatement. It was a visual absorption. Not to see this film would be like never seeing "The Wizard of Oz".

I was SO impressed by this movie. The plot and characters were great. Cameron even made parts that would be woefully predictable in other movies (boy meets girl, etc) incredibly interesting. And the 3D effects were awesome.
