Movie was excellent, very entertainment and though I know the critics say its a love story done over and over again. I think they are wrong, there is action, adventure, and a new perspective on how we see nature and our interaction with nature.

Words can not describe the wonder one feels while viewing this film. It was absolutely extraordinary and the most visually stunning film I've ever seen. I couldn't believe that the majority of it all was computer generated; the scenes were breathtaking. It looked so real! I must admit, prior to seeing this movie I feared that it would be solely eye-candy and nothing else. I was wrong. The story is original and compelling. This movie has something for everyone. Action, adventure, and a nice love story to boot.

This was not a bash on Bush. (See lowest to highest reviews.) It was a story that reminded me of Jimmy Stuarts' "Broken Arrow". A person from another culture is allowed to see into a very personal and rich culture of a people in total harmony with their surroundings. The movie was technically brilliant, the plot was the good, and the ending was the escapist, Sci Fi slam bang I want when I go to the movies. The film did not seem long because the whole film worked, big time. Best Sci Fi/ Fantasy film I have ever seen. It was my first 3D flick also. All I can say is WOW!

As with anything, whether you like this movie a lot or a little will depend on your personal taste. I would recommend Avatar for the special effects - they were great. I found the story and characters a bit too predictable. I enjoy figuring things out, and there was nothing to figure out. But do go see the state of the art CGI.

We saw this movie in the snow blizzard in the weekend. It was really worth watching the movie. The graphics are so real. It has to be watched in 3D and IMax to see its full effect. I would love to watch the movie again. Each and every detail has been taken care of and we could not believe the movie was over.

Avatar is a visually wonderful and deligfhtful movie. TOO BAD it is so one sided politically.
Yes the Shock and Awe statement was not lost on me nor is the american indian references. Too bad that James Cameron hates himself, you know the big corporate business.(450 MILLION did not come from a indie film company) The movie is GREAT and well worth watching, the creative and technical side is spectacular and surely will win awards.

I took my wife and 2 boys to see this movie. My wife was not sure what to think at the start of the movie. By the movie's end she told me it was one of the best films she had ever seen. My boys loved it, as expected. I was thrilled with this movie. 2.5 hours passed super fast and I could have stayed longer. We will ALL be seeing this again! A MUST SEE! TO GOOD TO WAIT FOR DVD!!!

I saw this movie twice now and I still love it. People criticize the story for its apparent lack of plot. It may have just been my family, but we thought the plot was GREAT! As a writer myself, I found it engaging, the characters lovable, and all the emotional ups-and-downs throughout the story very...emotional. It may have several themes found in other stories, but how many stories have taken themes from, i.e., Shakespeare? Unique stories may be nice, but not always feasible. I felt that Cameron took themes from other great stories and used them to make his own original world.
Definitely see the movie if only for the CGI. But don't discredit the story just yet. Perhaps it's not one for everyone to enjoy, but see for yourself!

It's difficult to say enough about this movie. The cinematography is gripping, the story is well told and the characters are well developed. It doesn't feel like a long movie, even though it is. James C. does a first-rate job of keeping you engaged and wanting more. My only caveat with the film is the green agenda that is pushed several times in the film. It isn't subtle by any stretch of the imagination, especially at the end. I was disappointed that the end of the movie leaves the viewer feeling guilty about being human. It's not what we pay for. In all, a film of epic proportions that everyone should see.

This movie is a game changer. The critics are right that there is nothing new about the story, but Cameron tells it so well you won't care. The effects are so good that you will not believe they are not real (Na'vi, Pandora jungles and creatures, etc.) This is revolutionary just as Jurassic Park and Star Wars were.

THE STORY LINE IS SOMEWHAT TRITE, BUT THE GOOD GUYS AND GENTLE PEOPLE HAVE TO WIN IN THIS TYPE OF FILM. THE ACTING WAS GREAT, AND THE 3D WAS OUTSTANDING. Avatar marks another milestone in cinema. Silent films in black and white, "Talkies" and then Technicolor. Avatar, however, represents a huge leap forward in technology. I found myself completely enthralled. The storyline had some minor flaws.... derived from Amerind meets the techno superior culture with the archetypical corporate/government villain and us as the evil aliens plundering worlds. Paint me Blue.... I loved it!

Strong review title for an amazing movie, this movie has something for everyone, the story person, the sci-fi person, the action person, etc. This movie was so well done that the 3 hour run time just passed effortlessly. I do not remember the last time a movie brought out so many emotions, sadness, anger, and happiness. I will end with an old cliché, if you see one movie this year, make it this one

Just non-stop excitement throughout the entire movie. You really felt like you were a part of the movie and that is what made it so magical.

I loved this movie. The emotions that were brought to the screen brought tears to my eyes. the adventure kept me at the edge of my seat. The love story was incredible. The insight into human nature was right on. Why must man control & destroy everything b eautiful? I would have loved to have lived ion that planet. James Cameron deserves all the awards for this movie. EXCELLENT!

Predictable, but the lead actor portrays a character that is both compelling and believable in his motivations and reactions. The supporting characters are nicely fleshed out. I am not a fan of Saldana, but when you add the amazing creatures, action and the jaw-dropping CGI, it's more than enough to carry the weak conflicting characterization of the female lead and the corporate bad guy
A more finessed treatment of the Corporation-as-bad-guy theme would have made this movie academy award nominee quality.
I was mesmerized by Pandora, I hated returning to my world......

WOW! My first thoughts when seeing the preview was, "Aye, I don't think this will be any good at all... Don't want to waste money watching it in the theater." BUT BOY WAS I WRONG!!! Great great movie! Love the action and the scenery... I highly recommend this movie for EVERYONE!

"Avatar" will not be the movie that vaults James Cameron into the pantheon of Hitchcock and Kubrick. While it is a stunning technical achievement and worth every cent on that basis alone, truly great directors make movies that are superlative in every category. Cameron settled for a mediocre script and predictable plot, ably executed by a fine cast, and then rests on the laurels of his flawless and visionary use of CGI. He's not a great director, but a great technician and businessman. "Avatar" is certainly enjoyable, but technical mastery does not a great movie (or great director) make.

It was beautiful. The graphics were amazing, realistic and believable. The actors were great too. Wasn't too crazy about Sigourney Weaver's avatar. It was a bit obvious in the CG department, but the others were very good. Story line was great, comic relief was appropriate. I would have like to see about two more minutes at the end, but I understand why they did it like they did.
