This movie was the best movie I have seen in a very long time. It was 2 1/2 hours of "on the edge of your seat" action and the visual effects were absolutely amazing! I can't stop thinking about this movie and talking to everyone about it. I can't wait to see it again! My 8-year-old said he wanted to watch this movie everyday. Great for kids and adults!!!

I went to this movie expecting excellent special effects and little else. While the plot is predictable, the atmosphere as a whole never ceases to captivate. Even the romantic plot succeeds in being un-sappy. Avatar is definitely worth seeing.

The movie is stunning to look at...the script is just a rip off of movies that have already been done: "Dances with Wolves", the ultra PC version of "Pocahontas", and a few others. I enjoyed the movie until I was beaten over the head with such subtle political statements as "I want this mission done high and tight." or "it's just a tree."
I loved many of the fantasy aspects of the movie, but the preachy, anti American, anti military, anti corporation theme was a major turn off. Go see the movie and listen to a Ron Paul podcast on your iPod while you watch. You'll enjoy it more and leave having actually learned something about a real corrupt government:)

Saw it on a regualr screen due to all of the 3D and IMAX being sold out. Going in, my family and I agreed that if the movie was as good as we expected, we would book ahead to see it on Christmas day at the IMAX in 3D. We all agreed that the movie was awesome! We cannot wait to see it in IMAX 3D! We have the tickets in hand!

Anyone who likes special effects will not be wasting time or money. However, if you like a good story line and you like to be done watching a movie after two hours this is not the movie for you. Also, for a "family movie" they use God's name in vain an awful lot. In my opinion I was very dissapointed with a movie they hyped on so much. Cannot hold a wick next to movies like Iron Man, Transformers or the Knowing. A definite wait until DVD release movie.

I absolutely loved Avatar, from beginning to end. It was so good that my boyfriend and I watched it normal view then we went back and watched it with my family in 3-D view (Eve of Christmas Eve).
The colors were so beautiful, I loved it. Everything was amazing; from the action, to the characters to the story.
I read that if this movie did well, that it would have 2 possible sequels. I will be in line, when they come (I have high hopes that they will come around)

The technology was amazing. It made you forget that this wasn't a real world they were in. The set design was spectacular. The only negative was that it was too long. It could have been 30 minutes shorter.

The CGI in this film is spectacular. I was constantly amazed/enthralled by the complexity, detail and imagery. To render a whole world with it's biodiversity is quite a challenge. Kudos to the producer and the imaginative creators of this fantasy. I thoroughly enjoyed the film. The shortcomings for me were the "native American" analogies the cavalry charge for example. You would think that a trained soldier would employ more subtle tacttics such as sabotage, guerilla attacks than massed confrontations against superior weaponry that just invites wholesale slaughter. Still, all in all, this is a wonderful, entertaining story with some sublime imagery. Highly recommended.

The ONLY way to see this movie is in 3D!! The visual effects are absolutely stunning. Sigourney Weaver must have had a great contract because she looks better as one of the 10' tall, blue aliens than she did in her human form. LOL. This movie is also good for kids as there isn't anything too scary. EAT BEFORE YOU GO...its over 2 1/2 hours long!

We knew that the effects would be awesome for this film but we really had no idea just how awesome they would be. The 3D effect is incredible and really draws you into the world being shown on Pandora. When you can go to a movie and get completely lost in what you are watching without feeling the need to move, that is a sign that it was really great.
We will definitely be going back to see this one again and again.
