the main thing i have to say is this movie is amazing great plot and amazing graphics.
this is pretty sad it is fast moving and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

The good news is that the visual aspects of the film exceeded my expectations. They are stunning. For the visuals, alone, the movie is worth seeing. I've never seen anything like it. Nobody has.
The plot is lame and the characters are two-dimensional. Both are better developed in your typical Spongebob Squarepants cartoon. It's almost as if James Cameron didn't want to give the movie any depth that would distract from the imagery.

I really enjoyed this movie experience. I was kept interested, involved, and committed to the story and the characters throughout. The CGI, or whatever it's called now, was wonderful, esp
ecially the flying sequences. Breathtaking !
The Pandora people were well-conceived, as was the natural world they lived in. One tiny
caveat would be some of the dialogue. It was
somewhat simplistic. However, it may have been just as well, since there was so much to experience visually.

I saw the Movie for the first time yesterday and I was not dissapointed at all, and will recommend it to all my friends that have not seen it yet. Though I wish I had seen it either at an IMAX or in 3D.

James Cameron, thinks outside the box, perhaps he really knows or overstands much more than he is credited for, again does he know something we dont, about other life forms out there? Take for an example The Abyss? and now Avatar
I mean why did he make the Avatar Blue, and not red yellow or green or grey or? does he also know something about Annunaki? and Planet Nibaru.....Perhaps we sgould all think this way, anything is possible right?

Okay, the special effects were good. However, there's just something that an actor can bring to the set that a computer generated face just doesn't have. It wasn't the worst movie ever. But it was DEFINITELY not the best. either. I found it pretty cliche, predictable, and honestly somewhat creepy....

I've seen this movie 3 times, and I've NEVER done that before! Each time I see it, something new pops out at me, and I love it even more. 3D is definitely the way to get the most from the experience but, even if seen in 2D, it's well worth the time and money. This is a visually beautiful movie, and I think its message parallels what we're all seeing in the "real" world. With Mother's Day only a couple of months away, I've provided a couple of not-so-subtle hints, to my kids, that I'd like the DVD...I hope it's out by then!! :)

The only downfall is you have to see this movie in 3D. I was blown away the first time I saw it in 3D. The second time was not in 3D. Kind of a let down.

I loved, loved, LOVED this movie! The fabulous effects and the FLYING! I just want to fly now. The messages also are ones of timely value, in a world where too much emphasis is placed on things that are not of lasting value. We should pay attention to the messages in this film.

We were looking for something to do on a rainy afternoon and decided to go see this movie. It was OK but neither one of us could understand all the rave reviews after seeing it. Special effects seem to be taking the place of really well-written scripts. It did get us through the afternoon though.

I wasn't sure about Avatar before I finally got around to seeing it. Wish I hadn't waited until 3D was gone. It was a great story, a little hard to catch on in the beginning if having not known much about the movie. I think the overall story was wonderful, pulling on the heart strings. The analogy to our Native Americans was tremendous. The picture of the menacing military was a tad harsh, cookie cutter. I think that Cameron is terrific for the greatness of his movies... sometimes stretched out some.

Best movie I've ever seen. Very spiritual and metaphorical for the types of wars the strong have always launched against the weak such as the Indians in the 1700's & 1800's in this country, and wars such as Viet Nam & Afghanistan.
It is a moving story that one will never forget. Plus the sets, direction, stunts, acting & graphic artistry is phenomenal.

I would say this was a breakthrough movie. To say i was stunned by its visual effects and its presence when i watched it in IMAX is an understatement. It was a great visual experience, it takes the viewer to a new world with its own rules.
The story is not that different or great, but the screenplay and the Visual effects make for it. I would give it a 3 for Story and 5 for overall movie experience. I watched this movie thrice. I might take a ride to Pandora on April if its still available on IMAX
A must watch movie in 3D /IMAX.

This movie is probably one of the best movies I have ever seen. IMAX 3D will likely be the future of action films, it was just stunning. I have seen this movie 3 times already. It has several important learning and plot points all revealing a sad truth about our world and society. Most people that don't like the movie tend not to get all of its aspects, and part of it may be that the special effects and graphic arts are so stunning that they can easily take your attention of the message it is trying to give. I really feel an oscar for best movie was not awarded in the basis of it being a CGI movie. I am sure soon they will learn to accept the reality that CGI adds strong visual and artistic power to movies.

This movie is a combination of great science fiction topics and a brand new fantasy world. The special effects and combination of real video of people mixed with the cgi to create the unique race of "blue aliens". A lot of people say the story line is lacking, but for me watching a movie like this that is of the genre, I can easily delve into the world itself and fill in (or ignore) any story gaps.
It has been a couple months since I have seen this, so there for I can say "Yes I would go watch this again" and look it is still playing, so that means something doesn't it?

...and was delightfully surprised how much I did!. This is a movie that is visually stunning and thoroughly entertaining from start to finish.
Yes the story has been told before and some of the characters are caricatures, but that does nothing to take away from the overall pure fun, emotional wonder and masterful visuals this movie provides the audience.

Awesome visuals even without 3D!
A theme of life force energy grabbed me and brought me to the point of tears but then sort of got lost as a thread in the fabric of the story. A "Head's Up";
A reminder of the gift of life we live on our planet and the challenge not to flush it and ourselves down the toilet. There's still so much still undiscovered right here. thanks for the "wake up call". I'll be seeing it again; this time with friends.

I would say this movie is entertaining and I liked it . It takes an old story line. Boy meets girl falls in love joins resistance and saves the day. The visual effects and graphics are great. I didn't get to see it in 3-D yet but I want to. I plan on buying it in Blue-Ray when it comes out.
