I am know among my friends as a critiic of digital renderings, and greeen screen technololgy. This movie left me in Awe. Avatar was the most visually stunning movie I have ever seen. Lucas art and Skywalker sound have come leap year since the last star wars trilogy with their tech. I was overwhelmed by the depth and context of this film. WOW!!! I am now, and for life a James Cameron Fan!

Went w/ family and kids (21, 15, 12) thought it was the best movie they had ever seen. good plot, action, and of course special effects will be tough to beat. extremely creative story and production.

I did not have any idea what was in store when I sat down to see Avatar, and was blown away by the visual imagery and effects. While the story line is nothing innovative and somewhat predictable, the imaginative creatures, brilliant colors and dramatic scenery were incredible. I originally bought 3D tickets, but when I arrived only 1st row seats were left, so I opted to see a later "regular" version. I would see it again just for the 3D experience.

Well written good themes not nearly as cartoonlike as the trailers make it seem.Only issue is theatre turned lights up for the last 20 minutes. Management needs to get a clue. As for the movie it has great battle scenes the CGI is seemless and lifelike and takes you to another world.

This one is for the decades. Can't wait for the BlueRay. The story is no great shakes. It is more or less predictable. What is amazing is the whole experience. The visuals are breath taking... especially the scene with the floating mountains. I'll give me left hand and leg (I am right handed so...) to see that for real. The effects (can't really call them effects... they seem so real) more than compensate for the lack of a super script. All in all this one is an experience more than a movie. Watch it in 3D IMAX. Best Bang for the Buck at the movie theater since Lord of the Rings

After reading that Avatar was a thinly veiled recounting of the American Indian tragedy, I was pleased to find that the indigenous people of Pandora were not annihilated in the end. Great inter-species love story!

I couldn't believe Avatar was as long as it apparently was - I was ready for more! The computer graphics, 3-D and sound effects were stunning, especially on the IMAX screen.
The graphic characters' acting was warm and believable, unlike some previous 3-D efforts like Polar Express. The human acting was fine, except for the one-dimensional baddies.
The story was pretty predictable, but Cameron made it all so visually captivating, you didn't really mind.
Absolutely a must-see!

This is with out doubt one of the best movies ever! The story holds up in all respects. The colors are beautiful, and the flight scenes are absolutely breath-taking.
You will want to watch this movie more than once - just to see what you missed the first time!
In my book this is a 5 star movie & and should be an Academy Award winner next year!

Cameron has created a CGI world with humans in it, rather than humans reacting to CGI characters or elements. You feel as though you are on Pandora. The movie blew me away. If LOTR: Return Of The King can win Best Picture, so can Avatar. It's Ferngully on a planetary scale, but it's so NOT a kiddie flick. James Cameron has another Titanic on his hands. 150 years into the future. A must see. More than once.

I have to admit I haven't been exposed to hardly any of the hype surrounding Avatar (and this was by choice), so I wasn't sure what to expect. My wife and I were both extremely surprised. Obviously the spectacle that are the special effects will blow you away. James Cameron has taken us one step closer to erasing the line between CGI and real life. The part that surprised us was the story line and acting quality. Although the story was a bit predictable, it pulled you into the world and made you care for the characters, which is the trademark of a good movie. Acting quality was quite good. Each character held their own. Over all, it was a fantastic experience. We'd go again right now if we could find a babysitter!

A mind-blowing special effects extravaganza, but predictable to the point of being mechanical. Within the first ten minutes of the film you will know exactly what is going to happen. That said, the creators did their homework, and the world they create is detailed and internally consistent. If you like the myth of the Noble Savage you will be well rewarded, and you will feel like you can live in the world they create. I always did think it would be fun to have a tail. There are unlimited possibilities for videogames, toys, cosplay, and marketing tie-ins of all kinds (not to mention sequels).

The special effects live up to the hype. And while the story's whole earth mother theme reaches a level of complete silliness at times in the second half, the movie never stops being fun. Definitely worth seeing in the theatres.
