Shown in 3D in an Imax theater, Avatar is a captivating experience. You are taken to a world so beautiful that you don't want to leave at the end, even if it is over two and a half hours. Bravo to technology and art!

I'm almost lost for words. It was visually stunning, beautiful and exciting. I don't think I've never felt a need to write a review until I saw this movie. Everyone should go see it. I saw it in 3D and it was breathtaking. This goes down as definitely one of my all-time favorites, especially in this genre.

Well..it was worth the ten years and 400 million dollars. I must admit the only downside of the movie is that the uglyness of humanity becomes difficult to watch. This is a must see especially in theaters.

I was looking forward to this movie; however, I never thought it would have been as incredible as it was. The almost three hours flew by. I was on the edge of my seat and totally engulfed in this movie. I attended the 3-D version. Wow! It is definitely not like the 3-D movies from the 80s. I would highly recommend this movie. It is full of action, incredible sights and a very creative storyline.

A great and intertaining movie. Special effects were beautiful. Don't overthink the message just enjoy the story and presentation. I would not take a child to this movie however. The swearing/bad language did not add anything to the story line. Unfortunately the language is the deciding factor to seeing the movie again with children. This will not be a movie we purchase for home when available because of the unnecessary language.

I was really looking forward to this movie but it was a disappointment. The computer generated graphics were outstanding, but the story line was tired and predictable. The evil mining corporation, the evil military - all been told before many many times. The sections about the native people were very interesting but in the end, a predictable movie. Also, no reason for it to be PG-13 - the language and extra violence didn't add anything. Edit that stuff out and make it PG. Won't hurt an already average movie.

I saw the movie three times in one week. It is a great film with a good story that hits at the heart of everyone who sees it. The story is old and relates to a wide adult audience. There is definitely an underlying message in the movie that is open to various interpretations. It is definitely warm and uplifting. A MUST SEE movie.

I go to the movies about once a year and was convinced by a friend that this movie was worth my annual visit. I wasn't disappointed. The sound track and special effects make it well worth the hefty investment to see. (Does it really cost $10 for a ticket these days?)

Saw this with 8 yr old daughter & both loved it. Good for the family to see. Beautiful imagery and stunning to watch. Story line predictable but full of terrific teachable moments. We had a great conversation over dinner after seeing this one!

After viewing the 3-D version and was blown away, I decided to see the IMax version.
I was disappointed by the loss of color in the IMax version, it seemed more muted to me.
This still was the most graphically beautiful movie I have ever seen

This was definitely one of the best movies I have ever seen. The attention to detail managed to make it all seem so real. I was very skeptical upon going to see it, but James Cameron has done it again! A fully satisfying and electifying experience was had by all. A Masterpiece!

I knew that I wanted to see it, but had head so many ho hum things about it's story line. But I LOVED it! Yeah the storyline was mediocre and pretty typical, but the characters, colorfulness, animals and effects made up for the storyline.
I will definately see it again.

This movie was one of the best I've seen in my life and that's not exaggerating and I've seen a lot of films. It was incredible. The effects were unbelieveable (see it in 3-D) which I expected. however, I was blown away by how much emotion was put into the story. By the end, I felt completely immersed in this beautiful, incredble world and in love with the ways of their people. The ending was perfect - I cannot recommend it more. James Cameron is a film GOD.

The movie was a special effects masterpiece, and the story line was interesting and engaging. Only problem is that there were many messages...some hidden, but some overt...that were anti America's policy of world strength, and our history of colonialism. The creators could have used a nameless army to be the bad guys...in this movie it is clearly our wonderful forces that fight and lose their lives to keep us free. Go see the movie, but God Bless America!!

The special effects were the best I have ever seen. You can really see how far they went with the CGI and I don't even want to think about how many hours went into it. I think I would rate this immediately as one of my favorite movies ever, the 2 hours and 40 minutes flew and I think you would not have gotten as much out of it if it had been shorter.
