1. The ship was shot like it was the monster from Cloverfield, you hardly saw it. Too much use of "jiggle-cam".
2. Simon Pegg was too cartoony.
3. Phasers looked a little wimpy.
4. The plot of a captain of a mining ship destroying everything in his path was a little thin, would've liked a little more of his story. Otherwise are we to believe any ship that is flying out there is capable
of Armageddon?
I'm a picky Star Trek but I really did like the movie very much.
I loved Mcoy and Kirk together. And of course having Nimoy was great even though he didn't quite seem like the "same old" Spock.

Spectacular summer movie! Great story, great characters, great action and great special effects. Going to be hard to top by the remaining mega-blockbusters that are coming out.

Very well done. Casting was great. I wish they would have been more loyal to the original. But I understand what they are doing. Good to see things that you always knew about and wanted to see. I don't go to the movies much but I knew I was going for this. I am glad I did. I might even go see it again.

I took my dad, my wife and our son. Everyone loved the movie. Special effects were amazing. The characters were believable. I believe they found a way to make Start Trek a movie that my generation and even high school kids will love.

An action packed escape. My kids had a blast and they have never seen the original series. The characters developed and grew through the course of the story....
My only issue (nit that it is) maybe related to the IMAX tie-in..... Some of the action sequences became predictable with things/people falling off cliffs, going over the edges of high stuff. Also I would have liked to see a little more story development in the middle wrt the charaters Academy experience.
Overall a great scifi action movie event

I am biased because I love sci-fi and Star Trek is my favorite, but this film is the best I've seen in a while. The cast did a great job of channeling the original cast members while adding their own fresh approach. So glad I caught this film early.

I enjoyed the movie from the beginning to the end. Only part I didn't like was that the movie ended! Action packed opening was as intense as any James Bond Movie and left you on the edge of your seat. The movie does leave a few strings or inconsistencies left that could have been tidied up. They can easily address these issues in a sequel if they 'Make it so". Overall: Fun, fast paced, humorous, well developed story and great selection of cast members to represent our familiar faces of Trek characters that any true Trekie has come to love over the many years of Star Trek. A home run for any Star Trek fan.

I have never been a huge Star Trek fan, because I felt like I discovered it a bit too late, and it was a huge effort to start new. I'm so glad this new one took advantage of all the great special effects we have today. It was brilliant to look at, and the story had just enough substance to keep you rooting for the good guys. I was happily surprised to see the new characters and how diverse the selection of them was.

If you're not a fan already, you will be by the end of this movie. There's a great mix of action, comedy and suspense. They've also thrown in some moments that are meaningful to the die-hard fan out there. My teenaged kids absolutely loved it, too!

A non-stop star trek adventure that left you wanting more. It was great how they introduced all the characters and explained each of their lives and how they came to be on the Enterprise.It was also great how they melded the TV series and movies together. Zachary Quinto is a great Spock and Chris Pine is a great James T Kirk, although hard to replace the originals Shatner and Nimoy. I can't wait to go to the next one. I'm sure there will be many more Star trek movies to come!

As a long term "Trekkie" I loved this movie! The plot line was great! The special effects and CGI were outstanding! The "how they met" aspect of the movie was perfect. Leonard Nimoy as the link with the original series was brilliant. I only wish there was more of "Scotty" in the movie!!

An absolutely successful reboot! What surprised me was the amazing capture of the personalities of the original crew -- but done in fresh manner. This was also a wonderful action movie and the use of Leonard Nimoy was superb! Go see this film both Star Trek die hards and those new to the franchise. This is a great summer movie!

This is just what this franchise needed, an infusion of fresh blood. Not only that, the director was a self-admitted non-trekkie. A fresh objective eye made all the difference in the world...OK now that I am done waxing poetic, this movie suceeds becasue it is not tethered to the 40+ years of history that preceeded it and that much is even explianed very cleverly in this film. A fun summer popcorn flick that will hopefully spawn 5 or six incarnations. We will see!

It was a pleasure to see this movie. there could have been a little more mechnical jargon but then again most people are not interested in the things that make a starship concept work. I am looking forward to the secqueal. Science has increased greatly sence the first star trek and there are a lot more sophisticated watchers and I think they would like to see what the future has to offer. Star trek is a good medium to wet our imagination.

I didn't buy the villain and thought the conflict to be a little contrived, but you know what, IT DIDN"T MATTER... the movie is so great, and the real beauty of the movie is the origins story of how the enterprise crew comes together. So great, run, don't walk!!!

The Title Says it all. Campy enough to still be Star Trek, yet sexy and smart enough to rival BSG in 'cool'. I would recommend this to Star Trek The Original Series, and Next Generation fans (like my father) and Trek noobies (like the friend I saw this with) alike. Everyone will have a good time at this. It was Vulcan Awesome!

Bring the vomit bag, because with all the quick cuts and jerky CGI movements, you may need it! No new story directions or character development are presented with this latest installment in the Star Trek franchise. Producers played it safe, and basically kept all the trekkies out there pacified while supplying 2+ hours of action for the ADHD crowd. As a 48-yr. old Star Trek fan, I am underwhelmed by such pyrotechnics, and long for stories with more intriguing plot and unexpected character developments. Alas, this film was pretty much exactly as you'd expect it to be, considering that $150 million budget was on the line. In other words, they played it safe, and...yawn...boring.

JJ Abrams is the new king of Sci-Fi. They did the one thing that they could do to allow a pre-qual to work in the Star Trek universe.

I have never been so confused about a movie before. Not the plot, but my feelings for it.
First of all, I have been a fan of Star Trek since 1973,
This movie, I enjoyed because of the characters. A new version of Kirk, Spock, and McCoy are awesome. And for the most part, the rest of the cast were good too. The story makes sense most of the time, and sets up a new version of the Trek Universe which should be fun to explore. But, the STYLE of the movie bothers me. From horrible set design(the ship looks like a refinery) to anoying lens flair, shaking cameras, and bad science. The original and its sequels took great pains to make things believable. This movie flushes those ideas down a very large water pipe.

Great re-interpretation of something many of us have grown up with. First time my daughter has seen one of the Trek Movies. A great way to introduce a new generation to one of the great sci fi legacies. I did not go in looking for a film re-telling everything we presume to know about the young lives of Kirk, Spock etc. and came a way marveling at the story and how well everyone was brought together none the less. I left curious as to where Star Trek will go next. Something I haven't been able to say since Rodenbury's touch on the series was lost.

This has done it, it has rebooted the franchises. I was skeptical because they have so much riding on this film, but it delivers and then some. Yes perhaps the explanation of the time travel is a hokey deviced used too often to expalin things in film and such, but for this movie it works. They knew exactley what to do and how to explain it so they don't step on the toes of die hard TOS fans toes. The casting was great and the action and humor were great. This is a MUST SEE in Theater movie! I liked it so much I am going again Sunday!

WOW ! Great movie - Great reboot - Cast Chemistry was good. This can only get better with more movies. Reviews were spot on this is entertaining and brings in aspects of the original series that brings us back to our youth.
