I grew up watching reruns of the original Star Trek, and although I would not classify myself as a Trekker, I think my exposure to the original made this "reinterpretation" of Roddenberry's series all the more enjoyable. Exhillarating action, not too graphically violent, and definitely an homage to the original. I never would have guessed that that was Eric Bana ("The Other Boleyn Girl", "The Hulk", "Lucky You" "Munich") as Nero. Kudos to the make-up team!! Be prepared for a roller coaster of a ride and enjoy every moment of it!

I am not a huge Trek fan, but watched enough to be curious. As I am a fan of JJ Abrams, wanted to see what he could do. He TOTALLY outdid himself. It was an awesome reboot. The actors did a great job. Kirk, Bones, Spock. Even if you don't love Star Trek you will love this film!

A great movie for old fans as well as new. I was never a true Trekkie, but enjoyed the series. This movie had a really nice balance of old and familiar parts (good for me) and new, fun and exciting parts (for my nephew, a Star Trek virgin).
This was the second time I saw it, that's how much I enjoyed it!

Loved the movie, but found 1 flaw. We all have seen Spock's mother inthe the series, so how can she get killed in the pass. She was transported with the rest, but was lost. We now from the series, that if her pattern is in the buffer, she can be brought back in the future. Great action, and a very good movie and would recomand it to all!

This film is at once sequel, prequel & reboot & does a superb job at all 3. It really is the sequel to Nemesis as we find out as the events are explained. The plot resembles to the prior film in that a rogue Romulan tries to settle a grudge against the Federation using a massive ship (it even oddly echoes the younger/older Picard theme), but it's a much better film. It's a prequel as well, but the twist is that it also reboots the franchise in a way that leaves the writers of the next film the freedom to go any direction their creativity takes them (really does honor the irreverent and surprising spirit of the original Star Trek). And if the team is the same one that crafted this extraordinary work, I hope they follow up very, very soon.

This was a fun summer-weight movie. The casting was well done, the special effects very good, the story line was ok.
The movie plot line was pretty weak. Trek fans will forgive them. The acting was strong, with good performances from Bones, Scottie and Mr Spock. As long as you drift along with the movie, it is lots of summer fun.

I never was a Star Trek fan, but I loved this movie! It was the perfect mix of story line and action. I took my 'trekkie" mom and she was happier than a kid in a candy store.

Great film. Star Trek is a classic and I'm very happy that this recent manifestation has a great script, solid cast and excellent music and sound editing. I would highly recommend this film to anyone, fan of the franchise or someone that just likes a good adventure flick. :)

I saw both Wolverine AND Angels and Demons, along with Star Trek. Star Trek was clearly the best of the three. It had good action and a good plot. There was time travel involved (just enough to leave your mind puzzled for a minute or two). I really recommend the movie!

OK, even with high hopes for this one, I was surprised at how good it was. Absolutely the BEST entry in the series (with action and a 'human' villain - the Quest for Whales doesn't count) since Wrath of Khan. Excellent, moving storytelling - I really appreciated how they wove the characters together the way they "should have been". I'll be back to see it again - maybe I can catch it at IMAX!

Very slick the movie intertwines classic plots and storylines while laying the foundation for new ones. The casting of our favorite characters was fantastic, and the special effects were awesome! Star Trek has been given a new lease on life!

This is the best Star Trek movie I have ever seen and I've seen all of them. It was non stop action from start to finish. It grabs you and you can't stop watching even for a second. I thought this was a really good movie with many of the little details of how James T Kirk's life began in StarFleet. Cool effects & storyline. Little cheesy with how they quickly brought on the ship's main characters, but it worked. Nice plot line with the First Mate & Communications Officer!
