My family enjoyed watching Star Trek and figuring out who all the characters were. Scotty was funny - my son thought he was going to ask where the food was when he got on board the Enterprise. Loved seeing Leonard Nimoy - that was a great tie in.

My wife and I saw it and I can tell all Trekkie fans to go and see it It answers a lot of questions and more It was funny and very satisfying to see the beginning I hope that the makers of this film will follow on with a 2nd or even a 3rd installment

This movie is not just for the Star Trek nerds. The two hour long movie kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more when it was over. The actors that played the old characters were perfect! Spock was awesome!

Focusing on well-defined characters and a great story, Abrams and co. deliver the best Star Trek movie ever -- by a wide margin. You care about these characters, and you see something rare in fiction: Real character development. Yes, for Trek fans, aspects of the story do not reconcile perfectly with the original series, but A) a reasonable rationale is provided for most of it; B) It's a great movie, so who really cares?
Sole downside: If you expect "fantastic," the best it can do is meet expectations, right? But this movie deserves to delight & amaze first-time movie-goers. When I go see it again (a rarity for me), I will be faced with a similar conundrum. But then I remember this fantastic movie and I ask myself, "who really cares?"

I thought the movie Star Trek was a very good movie. The actors that portrayed original star trek characters were well versed on their counterparts roles. I didn't see anything that I didn't like. I was spellbound from start to finish. It was the only movie I can remember going to where I didn't get bored in the middle of the show . Thanks for a great movie!

I've been a Trek fan for years and for years those old star trek movies never garnered more than 4 stars for me. All that is changed this time around -- This is a 5 star all the way.

This movie is non stop action with enough detail for most long time fans. Sure some of the technical jargon and time line issues are a little off, but the story works and the characters are as true as you could hope to see.

Previous movies generalized their plots for non-fans -- This one did too, but it also included some great gems that long time fans will pick up on.

All in all the new cast did a great job. They held close to the personalities their characters and brought a lot of energy to the movie.

Loved it! It was just a lot of fun. Not a whole lot of plot, but enough to keep you in. Clever way to introduce the "original" cast of characters. The "newbie" actors did a good job assimilating into the role of their predicessors. Clever, witty, and engaing.

Star Trek was an excellent execution of the vision that Gene Roddenberry wanted to share with the world.
This movie explored relationships that we didn't see on T.V. that Roddenberry had in mind such as the love relationship between Spock and Uhuru.
I loved that this movie was full of adventure, action and humor. I enjoyed the acting and the whimsical play on the characters as they were portrayed in the T.V. series.
It was great!
Oh yeah...and I love that Zachary Quinto!
Star Trek is the BOMB!

I didn't realize what a trekky I was until I saw this. It was so slick and action packed. It was such a pleasure to watch, like an old friend. The characters popped and were very familiar to me immediately. I was a kid for the original series and didn't like it because my big sister did, but had to watch anyway because my mom had a crush on Kirk. It was so worthy! It was very "Star Trek" in the feel, but also very modern. It would be wonderful for a whole new series to begin due to this adaptation. I recommended it to someone the day after I saw it and they went and enjoyed it that same day.

The only way this movie could have been better -IF they to gave out icecream cones. Every aspect of STAR TREK was better than I expected.The actors were wonderful -every crew member was 100% dead on. The special effects were stuning .LOVED IT.

The new characters are perfect!! Was very excited to see John Cho as Sulu and Simon Pegg as Scottie. Everyone did great with their roles and the movie was entertaining all the way around. Definitely want to see it again while its still in theaters.

Gone is the space-opera stigma of all the Star Trek iterations past! This had a real plot, professional acting, and none of the previous interpretations' lasy smugness. Intelligent and sexy... this would have been just as successful if it had been marketed as an entirely original movie with no Star Trek tie-in. I get the money factor, but this movie didn't need the coattails.

Exhilarating, smart, funny. Star Trek had magnificent special effects, but what really drove the movie were the complex, relatable characters. I wasn't a fan of the franchise at all before seeing JJ Abrams' reboot, but now I'm eagerly awaiting the next film along with the rest of the fanbase.

I went with a friend who was a fan of the original series, and she loved it. She was so excited teh whole time. I knew I wouldn't be disapointed when I heard JJ Abrams was directing - and I wasn't. The cast was perfect and the acting much better than I expected. It was non-stop action and had just enough insider info to make this Trekkie a happy camper. I can't wait for the next movie!

The movie was exciting and had coy humor. If you are old enough to remember the TV series, then you will love the movie. Many lines were right out of the original. Scottie is still "given her everything she's got" and Spock is sure to bring a smile to your face as he offers his familiar "live long and prosper". The writing was great, and it was fun to see young Jim Kirk and how he met his crew members, and how they came to be on the Enterprise. I am no Treky, but I enjoyed the movie and highly recommend it. My wife and 18 year old daughter liked it as well, and neither are Trekies! Go see this one, as it is one not to miss.

I really had my doubts about this movie. But, talk about surpised, amazed, speechless, terriffic, fabulous and the list goes on. What a wonderful way to breathe new life into this long running saga. The special effects are superb, the actors fantastic and the plot totally believeable! What helps the fact that Leonard Nimoy's protrayal of "Spock" is even better than before.This Star Trek Movie is definately the must see movie of the summer.
