This movie had some really good moments, but just missed being as good as the trailers suggested. The premise of the older brother trying to discourage his younger brother from getting married was derailed by the character of the bride-to-be. She was played as such a bridezilla, it was impossible to work up any sympathy for her. And I found her promiscuous, yet curiously judgemental (when it came to men's behavior) bridesmaids revolting.I was actually agreeing with Matthew McConaughey's character-RUN! The scenes with McConaughey and Garner rescued this movie from being a total bomb, but it was still a waste of a good premise and some good casting.

McConaughey plays himself again. You would think this would be somewhat boring which means the paycheck was good. Here's to the idea that we should stop encouraging studios to pay for dribble like this and simply put their millions into better projects. Please skip it.

First off, there is a VERY VERY GOOD REASON why this is PG-13!!! But otherwise, an awesome movie. I thought it was kind of gross, but of course, with a movie title like that, how could it not? This is an awesome chic flic, don't see it with any men, this is a girl's movie!!! a star is knocked off for completely grossing me out, but the movie was good all the rest of the time. The movie was predicatable, but I went into it with that in mind. Obviously, anyone familiar with A Christmas Carol or Scrooged could get the general premise of the movie. But overall, it was cute.
Contrary to the reviews of others, this film does not warrant an R rating. Despite what one reviewer wrote, there is no nudity in the movie, although there are scantily clad women. I've read a number of reviews from people stating that it is inappropriate for young children or pre-teens. This is why it is rated PG-13. A PG-13 rating means that is is inappropriate for children under 13, and parents are stongly cautioned. Before people complain about a rating, they should research the MPAA rating system.

It was surprisingly touching and there were some unexpected twists. Maybe MM was miscast, but it may have been the direction. JG was really warm and the young actors who played them were very good. I enjoyed the movie but was not so thrilled about the chemistry between the two leading actors. It was nothing compared to the chemistry with Kate Hudson. It was cute, but unrealistic how terrible this guy was to women and how they still idolized him. Sure we all like a "bad boy" but he had NO shame and she was much too nice. I went to see this movie not really knowing what to expect. Of course, Matthew McConaughey is dreamy for the ladies and Jennifer Garner is a hottie for the men and together they performed very well. The movie is definitely a 'chick-flick', so please go only with a date. There are times of a 'lull' in the middle of the movie and at times the next course of action in the movie is very, very predicatable. However, the wife liked it a lot!

awful! This movies is completely inappropriate for young girls/boys and should have a warning to parents with teenagers. It portrays girls/women as largely stupid and willing to put up with anything to sleep with the hot guy. Although in the end McConaughey "changes his ways" the women never do. A very poor choice for anyone under 21!

the movie had it's ups and downs, but overall I thought it was great. I took my sweetheart for his birthday, and we both liked it. He said "darnchick flicks, it made me cry." When Mathew made the toast at his brothers wedding, that was great..........
