Stellar
cast! Excellent pace, good intro, great action, effects are seamless,
good length. At the end I was pumped and excited but not left hungry
for satisfaction. This movie finally delivers on the promise every
comic book movie has made. The storyline was very true to the mythos of
Ironman. Ironman's real strength is he thinks faster than anyone. This
movie honors that element.

I like comics and superheros, but most of the movies have been underwhelming. Iron Man, however, was not. It was the perfect superhero movie. It balanced camp and seriousness deftly. It didn't condescend the audience with stupid one liners. On the contrary, the dialogue was very sharp, and the comedy was unforced but prevalant. Great eye candy with the effects, but the script is what made this movie great. Kudos to Favreau and Robert Downey Jr for giving us the superhero movie we've all been waiting for.

I could not close my eyes till the end of the movie, in case I miss some thing. This movie shows an ordinary man with more than average intelligence can do things which Super Man might do. I was stunned with the cinematography and digitization of the movie. I will see this move again and will recommend others to see this beautifully made masterpiece .

This is a family film as it can appeal to kids and adults. Well casted...Robert Downey plays a hero with flaws, and you see him mature during the plot. Jeff Bridges and Terrence Howard are good supporting cast. Paltrow was okay, but the role could have done more with her.
This is set up for the sequel and I look forward to it.

Definitely the best Superhero Movie since Spider-man-2. I want to see it again today and I saw it last night. Robert Downey Jr. is the soul of the film, making the larger than life character of Tony Stark actually natural. This movie did not disappoint, even after the hype.

I had no doubt the first time I learned that Robert Downey, Jr was playing Tony Stark/Iron Man that he was the right choice and Thursday night I was proved right! He did an excellent job! I can't wait for the next one! Oh, and when you go, wait until the very end - past all the credits - for a pleasant little surprise!

I recommend this movie to anyone who loves action adventure/ comedy movies. It exemplified what a comic book movie should be and I thought that Robert Downey Jr. was the best possible person that could have been chosen to be Tony Stark. This movie was in a word AMAZING!

This movie was absolutely amazing!! There was really never a dull moment in the movie. 2 hours may seems like a long time, but it feels short and leaves you wanting so much more!! I really hope they do a second movie. (Actually there were things in the movie that hinted at a second)

I was never a big Iron Man fan growing up but have enjoyed most of the other Marvel movies that have come out that I was sure I would not be dissapointed with this one and I wasn't at all. This is a must see for young and old. A very good story line with excellent graphic and special effects throughout the movie with bits of good humor splashed in. One thing that I recommend is wait until the very end of the credits, I won't spoil it but a special clip comes up for those who know more about Iron Man.

The movie works very well and overall I came away much more impressed than I expected for a superhero movie. The actors all meshed well on screen and the characters were truly interesting (and hilarious). There is only one problem with this film.
There just simply is not enough Iron Man action. The plot is built for the majority of the film, which is quite fine, but I really thought their should have been more action.
With that said, it is a 100% recommend and you should definitely go take a look. The movie theater experience enhances this film as the whole crowd gets into it.

Iron Man was never one of my favorite comics- I always had a problem with Tony Stark's attitude. When I was younger I yearned for more traditional heroes, such as Superman. However, the older I have gotten, the more I am able to relate with characters such as Iron Man, because they are only too human. Robert Downey Jr. portrayed this character excellently. The journey his character goes on is well-played and well-paced.
While the beginning does drag a bit, it does not affect the overall feeling or success of the film. The casting was surprisingly good, the visual effects top notch, and the story well-written. This is one of the best comic adaptions every made.
While it has its problems, the film works very well as a whole, and was a remarkably entertaining experience. I would recommend this film to anyone that is even tempted to go see it- you will not be disappointed.

As soon as I heard Robert Downey, Jr would play Tony Stark/Iron Man, I knew this film would be a winner. Seeing it last night simply confirmed it. Great action & special FX, some snappy dialogue, and a great cast, including the man himself - RD,Jr - make an excellent movie recipe. Even if you didn't get into Iron Man comics as a kid, you'll enjoy this movie. And, BTW, don't rush off at the end....

A film reminisent of the olde Saturday Serials in terms of plot and story line. From the opening shot to the clever end, one's attention is raptly held. Robert Downey, Jr's one-liners maintained the light-heartedness, but at the sametime, one could not help but be carried along by his high tech character who never revels his plans, but like the closing is sprung on the audience and the bad guys.
Jeff Bridges was a classic as the nefarious alter-ego, evil, minded DR. DeMento type, but with a modern profit driven twist. The perfect evil one that supports the hero of the movie.
Action, color, high tech, do-dads, set in multi-locations from the desert to Ironman's lab where he talks to assembly robots. This is definitely a movie that would make a techie breakout in a cold sweat coveting all the gadgets of Ironman.
This is a good versus evil film utilizing the homeland security theme.
For those of us as kids who used to sit on the edge of our seats during the Saurday Matinees watching the serials, we again are put on the edge of the seat.
Grab a corn, pop and be prepared to be entertained for 2 hours and 6 mins. The story and acting is good enough to hold you for that long. I predict a sequel...clue is in the final ending line.

I was going to title this great superhero movie, and it is, but I think even those who might not enjoy the genre will still like this movie. Robert Downey Jr. owns this character! Tony Stark is Money (thank you Mr. Favreau)! I thought everything worked from the humor to the action/CGI and even the nods to comicbook fans. I will see this multiple times and buy the DVD. I can't recommend this enough... a lot of fun! Go see it!

Best Comic Book Adaptation

This is hands down the best comic book to film adaptation to date. There are some that are still my favorites but when it comes down to a true comic book movie this one takes the cake.
They stuck with everything and included the littles things for the nerd like me. Even down to Robert Downey holding a newspaper with a leaked photograph of the Iron Man suit that was taken before the movie came out. Only someone who's into hype and things behind movies would have noticed such a little thing.
But anyways, the movie had everything, a little bit of humor and it wasn't cheesey/bad and great action sequences. Also after hearing Jeff Bridges doing his robotic suit voice, I think he should have done Megatron in the Transformers movie. I HIGH recommend this movie to anyone and everything, it's something really anyone can enjoy.
They completely nailed Tony Stark, they kept him as an arrogant womanizing drunk and who better to play him then an arrogant womanizing drunk!

Iron Man is among the best ever of the superhero movies. Great acting from a great cast, a good story, and it'll put a smile on your face because it doesn't take itself too seriously (but it is definitely not a "light" movie). In the vein of X-Men, and Spider Man, there's just about a perfect balance between comic book, human drama, humor, and compelling story line. (And actually the caliber of actors and "near-believability" of the story here probably nudges this one ahead of those other two in my opinion.)
One of the few times I've left the theater wishing the sequel was coming out next week.

The best movie I have seen this year. Should be a summer blockbuster. Robert Downey was at his best in this one. Jeff Bridges as the villian was superb. The action kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I know it was a 2 hour movie but it was so good you couldn't beleave it was over so quickly. Would recommend it to all my friends. I will see it again and take my grandsons. Fantastic.

I'm a marvel-ite. Been of fan of Marvel comics since I was in grade school. I know the characters and the plots intimately. This was by far the best of their comic book heros made for the big screen. They remained true to the characters and plot Stan Lee created. Fast paced, action packed, comical, (Stan's obligatory cameo was a hoot) the fx were right on (double entendre intended) Robert Downey Jr is in rare form. I will see this one again before the summers gone.

This movie was very very good. The special effects were incredible. There was a lot of humor. Robert Downey Jr. was outstanding and Gwenith Paltrow was beautiful.
