This was a great movie with phenomenal actors. There could have been no better choice for Tony Stark than Robert Downey, Jr. With the mix of Gwenyth Paltrow, Terrence Howard and the great Jeff Bridges, this one couldn't go wrong. There was not as much action of Iron Man as I'd liked but I realize it was because it had to set a storyline (which to me is more important than anything in a movie--and the storyline was wonderful). Don't get me wrong, there was PLENTY of Iron Man action. I look forward to a great great series and this was a phenomenal cornerstone. Long live Tony Stark!

The casting is dead on. Every detail was well thought out in this film. The action and special effects are "Marvel"-ous. The computer effects have reached a degree of sophistication that makes them all but seemless from the live action.

Robert Downey, Jr. was the perfect Iron Man. The story was entertaining yet had a certain depth. We have the power to win in any circumstance as Stark did. This was a self made superhero, the best kind. The action was thrilling, not too gory, and the special effects were amazing. Just enough humor to keep it light. 2 hours went by like ten minutes!

Iron Man stayed true to its roots except it was brought to modern day with the change from Viet Nam to Afghanistan.
Great Special effects
Also the movie never dragged or seemed ridiculous or confusing like the first Hulk (I am anxiously awaiting the Ed Norton spin on the new Hulk movie)
And for all you guys with wives or girlfriends, take them. My wife loved it and said "he is my favorite superhero."
Go out and see it several times ... and stay past the credits or you will miss something important.

Loved the movie - although the electronic butler got a little annoying. Robert Downey is FANTASTIC as Iron Man. Loved him!.
Terence Howard could've played a bigger role, but possibly in future sequels?
Overall a movie well done.

The story line is captivating for the entire 2 hours! All of the characters where excellent! Great special effects, great action & just the right amount of humor thrown in to create a perfect mix! Most comic books made for the big screen are somewhat lacking, but this one lives up to the hype! U must C this film!!!

Though I had heard of this comic book character, I was only into the "pop" comics like SpiderMan, SuperMan and The Hulk growing up. They all had cartoon or T.V. shows and even without knowledge of the comics, you could enjoy the stories via good old saturday morning cartoons (man I miss those days and wish it was still the same for my kid...I digress). Iron Man simply rocks. I can be enterained at almost every level (kid movies, bad movies, block buster, obscure movies) as long as there is some sort of logical story. Iron Man just as Batman Begins, has a real story to tell to setup the character that they are about to introduce to you. They didn't have to do that but they chose to and it was very well played. If movies like this keep it up, you will start seeing them being nominated for more than just special effects Oscars. Robert Downey Jr. was, is and always will be a Grade A+ actor...he doesn't take him self to seriously and has fun. This movie is worth every penny to see and I will most likely see it again (at least once) before it goes to DVD of which I will buy.

This movie had it all for the entire family. It was high end special effects and non-stop action. It slowed down enough from time to time to build on a love interest sub plot which kept my wife thoroughly engaged....so it had some slight chick flick drama to off set the awesome action sequences that made this a great father - son bonding experience. Looking forward to the next chapter!

I think of myself as a pretty reasonable and fair judge of movie quality (or so I'm told) and I can say with great confidence that most (if not all) comic book movies I've seen have been - to put it lightly - kind of stupid. Maybe lame would be a better word to use. From the early Batman movies to the more recent Spiderman and Hulk movies they all had one thing in common, they were all boring and seemed to struggle to set the story up for a sequel. Even the Spidermans which are some of the better ones did not make the movie theater experience worth the 8+ dollars. I would have as much fun watching it on a DVD with an above average TV.
Iron man is different. I don't think I'll ever be able to experience how awesome the action scenes were unless I was in a multiplex theater with the sound turned up a little (more than usual). Directing was awesome (thank you for not shaking the camera like crazy and attempting to make me throw up my popcorn). Acting was just super (RDJ made a real memorable come back with this one). And last but never ever least, the special effects were insane! CGI works best with robots and machines so they lucked out there but they still did an amazing job putting the movie together. Plus they set it up for a great and smooth transition into a sequel. I have no idea who the villain will be (and I really shouldn't).
I'm hungry for more action scenes, more of Iron Man flying around. For some reason those scenes made me feel like I was flying too. The physics in the special effects was really great. It's rare for me to say this, but, I'd go see this movie again if I could.
I give this movie 4 out of 5 because I never give 5. I'm reserving it for a movie that will render me speechless.

Of all the recent comic book movies that have come out, Iron Man blows them all away! The story is great and very accurate to the comics, the acting and casting are superb and the special effects are tremendous, though the movie doesn't rely on them to be good! Just for the record, I am NOT a Robert Downey Jr. fan but he hit a grand slam this time! 2 hours goes by in a flash with this one! No nudity, no cursing, very little blood but it doesn't need it! Grab the kids and go to this one or just go alone!

The previews for the movie made it look like it was going to be a great film but I often find that they usually show the best parts in the trailers and the movie stinks. This is not the case here. Robert Downy Jr. is Tony Stark! Being an old comic book collector I can not envision anyone else in that role. The story was great and there was enough action throughout the film to keep my 7 year old occupied.
If you like superhero movies you MUST see this film!

This is Marvel's best real life conversion since the original Spiderman. You can believe what you see (having to blink your eyes only a couple times), there's plenty of humor throughout the film & for the most part the dialog isn't all ham'd up. There is some level of predictability, but considering the laundry list of junk Marvel's put out lately; (Daredevil, Electra, Spiderman 3). Ironman by far hits the mark.

Wonderful screenplay and imagery. It was interesting how the Billionaire playboy had his epiphany or "ah-ha moment" seeing that his weapons were being used by both sides of the waring factions and became determined to combat that. As one in the technology/science field I wish they would have gone more into the things he was developing, but it was a very thrilling experience. Definitely go see it!!!

I wasn't sure at first because I grew up watching Iron Man. The effects, while not groundbreaking, were used spectacularly and most importantly, at the most appropriate times and with the highest quality. They enhanced great performances and build up a familiar story line.

WOW! I enjoy action movies and especially comic book flicks, but you never know if the story will translate well to the screen. IRON MAN was fantastic from beginning to end. A balanced pace, a believable story, great performances and a great score made this a thoroughly enjoyable movie experience. It really drew me into their world. Even though I could predict the revelation of the real bad guy, it unfolded in such a natural way. This movie is never forced, always exciting.
I have always been a fan of Robert Downey Jr. You could see some skills there beneath the bad boy exterior. Not only did he pull off Tony Stark's transformation from jerk to hero with flawless humanity, but I suddenly realized this man is absolutely hot!!!!

As a good and faithful geek, I've seen every movie based on a comic book that's come out
in the last thirty years. I saw Iron Man last
night, and it ranks among the best of all time.
I put it up there with the 78 Superman, and
the first Spider Man. It was an amazing film
from start to finish. It was well acted, the
story was top shelf, and the special effects
were insane. Anyone who doesn't run out and

My husband is a huge comic book guy so each time a comic book movie comes out, it undergoes intense scrutiny in our household. This movie was awesome! Well done with not too much origin/back story to confuse new viewers but enough for you to get a flavor for the characters. Downey Jr., Bridges and Paltrow nailed their characters - we'll be seeing it again next week! GO SEE IT!! Cool cameo after the credits too!!

I'm not a big action movie fan, but my son really wanted to go, so off we went. I actually enjoyed it. The story was quite engaging, though predictable at times. The actors were appealing. Two young women sitting next to me swooned when Terrence Howard appeared. The special effects were dazzling. This is one I will probably buy when it comes out on DVD because I expect there will be a lot of juicy extras. When you go, make sure you stay through the credits. There is a bonus scene at the end!

I had some problems with it; it's not perfect. Robert Downey Jr. is inspired casting, but at the beginning it was kinda slow at times. I know it's expensive but I'd rather see more scenes of Iron Man in battle than scenes of Iron Man being developed.

Saw the film late last night to a packed house. The audience even clapped near the end. This will be listed as a classic in the future. Downey is great together with Paltrow and Bridges. All I can say is WOW!!!! Keeps you on the edge throughout. Smooth transitions and nice ending.
