The film is highly entertaining, even for us girls who aren't into comic book films (i.e. Spiderman, Hulk, etc.). I loved Tony Stark's character the best.

I'm not familiar with Iron Man as a comic book character, my first exposure was this movie and I LOVED IT. Great dialog, captivating characters, and "invisible" CGI effectsd - I never felt like I was watching a computer game.

Although that's not saying much, Iron Man was fun to see. The story was fast paces and kept you interested al the way through. The cast was exceptional for this genre.
On the negative side, the story didn't make much sense. The "bad guys" kept Tony Stark hostage for months to build a jerry-rigged missle, but we can see that they're flooded with his munitions already. Also, Tony Stark's naiveté about his place in the munition industry is literally unbelievable.
As for the acting, Ms Paltrow did a wonderful job with her role, but she is so over-talented for the part that I was left wondering if most of her scenes were left on the cutting room floor. Jeff Bridges and Terrence Howard turned in solid jobs as always. And I can never watch Robert Downey Jr. without being amazed at his abilities. I pray every time I see him that he has finally put his personal problems behind him.

Great Movie. told the origin of Iron Man story in a contemporary context. When I read the comic Tony Stark was held captive in a cave in Nam. The visuals, etc was awesome. Great Casting, good script. Hopefully the next one will have Iron Man fighting the Hulk (like in the comics). That would be awesome.

The collective groan that you just heard was all of Hollywood realizing they are going to have to work a little harder with their comic book properties. Iron Man has raised the bar for all future Marvel productions(like Batman Begins did for all comic book movies) and so has the bar of fan expectaions.

Iron Man was full of excitement and adventure. Robert Downey Jr's character undergoes a life altering event that allows him to reevaluate his mission in life and change directions for the better. Intense moments kept you on the edge of your seat, and Downey was sure to please with comic relief.

I've waited over forty years for this movie. I met Tony Stark/Iron Man back in high school, and we became fast friends. I'm sure he doesn't remember me, but I certainly remember him. He saw me through a lot of dark times, including service in the military.
I was so glad to see this film stay so true to the basic story of Iron Man. Let's face it, a lot of the credit for bringing Tony Stark to life goes to Robert Downey, Jr. for his excellent portrayal of the genius/millionaire/playboy that was Tony Stark. The transition from uncaring capitalist businessman to crusader for justice and peace was so well down by Downey.
Credit to the special effects people, the CG folks, and everybody that was not in front of the camera. These people truly brought the Armored One to life for us.
Excellent job by Jeff Bridges as Obie. I began distrusting him from his first scene with Tony.
But, I have to say this, Gwyneth Paltrow was the quintessential Pepper Potts. She was beyond perfect.
However, one of the most enjoyable scenes was when Tony was trying out the second prototype suit (obviously the first prototype was the one he built in the cave) in his lab. The assiting robot arm that was relegated to "fire safety duty" literally stole the show in that scene.
I highly recommend that anyone who can breathe to see this movie. Those of you who are not breathing should go see it too, but I won't put any undue pressure on you.

Alright, let's be honest. The last really good superhero movie to be released was Batman Begins. Before that, maybe the first Spiderman. This is definitely one of the top three. It's entertaining, has a good story and the technology/FX put into this movie were immaculate. They should release this in an IMAX and/or 3D theatre. I'd see it again, regardless

This movie was THE best movie I have seen come out it quite a while. I thought I might be disappointed from the wait I had of about two months, but this movie was so worth paying extra to go on opening night. I would recommend this movie to ANYONE!

This movie starts out with good background info and progresses nicely. I knew nothing about Iron Man before I saw it and I understood who the characters were from the background. The action was fantastic and believable. I wouldn't mind seeing it again. Just make sure you stay until the end of the credits for a nice surprise!

I completely enjoyed this movie. As soon as I got home I wanted to watch it again.

OKAY, so we had to wait until the end of the movie for that line BUT what a ride!!! My kids and I enjoyed the experience wholeheartly. Robert Downey Jr's dialogue was intertaining to say the least. I believe Marvel fans will be happy with this latest edtion of Superhero movies. Hopefully on the next project we can see more villans who challenge the pursuit of justice only to be defeated by IRONMAN!!
