This is a great movie for kids of all ages and even adults. Just enough adventure to hold the average adults attention yet mild enough for kids to understand and enjoy. Great family film.

I found "The Spiderwick Cronicles" rather boring. The acting was poor, the storyline could have been great but was done in a run of the mill sort of way, the effects were awful, and the whole thing fell flat.
The last battle was very anticlimatic. One of those scenes where you're watching and then...AND then...AND THEN...you realise it's over. "That's it?" You ask yourself.
Besides all that, it's really not even a good movie for kids. It's a little intense for the youngest children and anyone older will be bored to tears.
Final Statement: I saw this movie during AMC's Summer Movie Camp and am glad that it only cost a dollar.

We saw this movie during AMC's Summer Camp program. While both of my children had read the books, they both, (9yo & 10 yo) found it very intense and scary. Their quote was that "compared to Spiderwick, Harry Potter & tHBP was like a sweet little flower."

I really enjoyed this movie. It was definitely a little scary at times for my 4 year old but she was still quite enthralled. My 10 year old very much enjoyed it, thinking of himself like the main character.

A bit on the dark side, and not really a movie for little children (a bit too scarey in some places - don't think the average 6 year old would really enjoy it) - however, perfectly fine for ages 8 and up.
I enjoyed it, and if you enjoy the Harry Potter movies, you would probably enjoy this too (although I didn't think this was as good as the Potter films).

I loved this movie! It also had a little humor, whihc made it great! Most movies like this are just bland, nothing in it. But the Spiderwick rocks out loud! And one certian actor caught my eye..........;) This a great movie to see for those people who need to spice up their life a bit!
