It was pretty well written and directed. I am still looking for something that will scare me more than The Exorcist. This didn't even come close but it was decent. I felt that my money wasn't a total loss.
Not sure, but I think that the "detective friend' is the same actor from the exorcist!
Would I watch this again? Yes. Could it have been scarier? Yes!

As a horror movies fan, I would consider it as a rental movie. Prop to Renee for tackling another genre that's out of her norm, she's superb as always with her acting. Jodelle Ferland (Lily) acting is quite good, reminded me of Dakota Fanning but not as good. The storyline is pretty original but although the movies is only 110 minutes, it seems longer because the first half of the movie is kind of slow. I personally thought the movie is a mixture of comedy and horror because I find a lot of parts comical instead of scary. So if you're thinking of watching the movie for a scare of the month, don't count on it. Overall: Storyline: B- Acting: A Scary: B-

People if you want a decent story with average excitement and predicable movie this is your movie. This movie was a decent watch. Rene Zellwegger does a great job acting in this movie. She plays a case worker who feels sorry for this little girl.....I won't spoil it for you. Anyhow its a decent movie but the storyline was kind of lacking in my opinion. Much better movies out like "Let me In." much better movie. I watched them both back to back. Good movie to take a significant other to.

I thought this movie was pretty good. Mainly because its a crazy scenario and the previews are a little misleading which made the movie that much better. I wasn't disappointed at all.

This was not a scary movie, but it wasn't bad, either. Renee was very good at being terrified and creeped out - unfortunately, she was the only one. The movie did not successfully transition "good little girl" to "horrifying whatever-it-is" - she simply wasn't creepy enough in the beginning. The movie also took quite a while to get to the bad stuff - most of the first half was all about Renee's job. And even when things did start to go wrong, it should have been creepy, but it just wasn't. (Also, just to nitpick, what social worker can afford a house like that?!)
If you're looking for an ok movie for a date or something this is fine, but don't expect to be scared.

I cosidere honesty an important value in my life but after watching this poorly written and done movie that uses a star to draw us in, I think going to a second movie in a complexx should be allowed. This is the latest in a long line of really bad movies released the past 4 months that are so bad I can't believe they went to theaters. Complete rip off and not scary with giant plot holes. Dumb gore, poor script--fear they may make a sequel. Very bad movie. hisss.
