The movie was good. But the plot was kind of all over the place. When you get to the end you forget what happened. Overall, the special effects were very good, nice acting and directing, plus. I would still go see it even if it's not that good, since it IS the sequel of the first Narnia movie.

I agree with all the reviews that gave the movie a one or two star rating, because the first movie was much better. This one didn't live up to the fist one, but if judged on it's own merits, as though you hadn't seen the first one, nor read the book, I think it would rate three stars. The story, acting, and directing were sub-par, and the attempts at injecting humor into serious scenes didn't work at all. Over all, I would suggest saving your money and renting it.

this is a really good movie for families, or just about anyone, really. (very small children might be frightened by some of the action scenes.) it moves a bit faster than the first narnia movie, but without losing the story. it was different than i expected, too, but in a good way.

Excellent movie with a lot of variety in the story line. If you know the book series by C.S. Lewis, you will want to see the movie. But, please don't forget to READ the books. They will only enhance your experience with this movie.
Very intense in some parts and possibly too much for very young children, but a very good story that matches Prince Caspian in the second book from the series by C.S. Lewis.

The movie was Awesome! I took my entire family of 5 plus an extra one to a Saturday morning showing. From my 5 year old and up we all loved it. The action was non-stopiing and you kept wondering what was going to happen. To quote my 5 year old "it was amazing, it was cool and it was so impressive too. My 3 rd grade son has read two of the Chronicles of Narnia books in his class, so this was like a field trip for him, his teacher and a few class mates. The children really enjoyed themselves, they really enjoyed knowing and seeing what they had read. So now I`m trying to use the "eyes of a child "when I see movies that are based on books. Over all I enjoyed the movie, and the principle message. This is a movie for the entire family.

Saw it last night and was concerned that it might not live up to the 1st movie. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was even better than the 1st Narnia movie. I wanted to start out on a high note by saying this was a good family movie. So many family movies out there are either kindergarten level (ie. Kung Fu Panda) or trying to be so cool giving our kids bad role models, so Narnia Prince Caspian is a good clean enjoyable family movie. That said, it was visually too dark for a lot of the movie. One of the nice things about the first movie is you saw the beautiful Narnian scenery by daylight. This movie it appears didn't use the budget for bright beautiful scenery. I know the theme was supposed to be "dark" but visually it didn't have to feel like most of it was taking place underground. The 3 older children seemed almost too old to be playing Narnian "dress up" -- I just didn't feel it in their performaces. The Lucy character was the only just as good as in the 1st movie - that little girl carried most of the movie in my opinion. The actor who played Prince Caspian was a very handsome choice but the fake accent was annoying not only to me but to my 11yr old daughter as well. He is meant to speak in his native tongue. The Narnian characters served as background - only a few were in the forefront & none of those anything to write home about. The spirit of the first movie was missing. When King Peter said "For Narnia" & "For Aslan" it wasn't major as in the first movie, it seemed contrived. Most of the movie did, as a lackluster sequel, but I'm glad I went to see it bcuz it was a safe family movie - I don't have to worry about content for my 11yr old but if you have a child younger than 10yrs or one who's focus challenged, this movie is going to be too slow paced at the beginning.

Well, I waited since I was a little girl for the Narnia series to be made into movies...and I was so excited when the first edition was put to film a few years back. It was great to see them continue with the series and I hope they never stop! They did vary from the book a bit with this one, but the essential parts were there (just not always in the right order). Overall, I continue to champion Narnia for Narnians and Aslan as King!!!! DISNEY .. PLEASE DON'T STOP... KEEP GOING! WE LOVE THEM!!!

We have 6 and 8 yr old girls - they loved the movie and their parents enjoyed it too. Plenty of magical scenery and a whimsical story line, together with great actors and actresses add up to a special family movie experience. This was less gory than the first Narnia movie, and suitable for small children. Probably not good for toddlers. The main characters were especially good - our children could identify with them easily. Don't miss this one!

First, do NOT go to this movie expecting to see a blow-by-blow adaptation of the book.
Things have been changed. However, the changes are mostly for the better. The Narnia books are one of my most-loved series, and I'll be the first to say that any word-for-word adaptation would've been BORING on the screen. This movie is a thrill-ride, solidly-acted, and heart-wrenching.
The child actors are wonderful, with much attention made to making them realistic (instead of the noble goody-two-shoes they tended to be in the books) -- how would YOU feel if you'd been an adult king/queen, ruling your own kingdom, and then had to go back and be a kid again, under adult control? The director & screenplay address this point marvelously, giving an emotional depth that is ignored in the books, especially to Peter's character.
At one point, Peter stages a raid on Miraz's castle, a raid that ends in tragedy, with half his forces caught behind the portcullis and trapped -- and Peter, outside, stands on the bridge, agonizing as his people are slaughtered. At that point, you SEE what a great king Peter must have been for Narnia, the caring for his people in his whole body and his helplessness at not being able to do ANYTHING. And that agony is marvelously brought to a conclusion at the climactic one-on-one between Peter & Miraz, when you realize that Peter is willing to lay down HIS life to save his people, no matter what the cost...and mature enough to hold back his own personal revenge to allow Prince Caspian the chance to likewise grow.
A point about the violence. It is realistic violence, though NOT gory (everything is implied, not graphically shown); that makes it all the more scarier. And I'm one of those folks who will whole-hearted recommend taking your kids to this film, no matter what age. It is NEVER too early to teach kids that violence & war HURT, that there's a cost to pay for freedom.
My only gripe with this movie is with the ending songs -- dear gods, Walden, starting that pop song while the kids were still in Narnia was just jarring. If the editors had waited just a few seconds & started the song when the kids hit the station at the end, it would've worked. however, it's a small quibble. I was still crying my eyes out when the credits rolled.
Oh, yeah, fangirls, and Ben Barnes as Prince Caspian is HOT. I can't wait for Dawntreader.

This movie has a GREAT plot, keeps you engaged thru to the end, & the characters have well-developed depth to them to the point that you believe they're real. It shows what every kid goes thru trying to grow up. Special effects are PHENOMENAL, & stays fairly true to the original book, which is always a pleasant surprise! Wasn't sure how they would be able to match up to the Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe, but they sure did a fantastic job! I would recommend this movie to anyone! It was very exciting and always moving!

I was nervous going to see this one. Did not like the first one as much as the original. However this one was stellar. Great use of time and magic to get the point across. Very good at keeping the Christian metaphors the author intended in the story.

This movie was great. The message as powerful as in the 1st installment, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Acting, Scenery, Special Effects, and costuming was wonderful. Keep me on the edge of my seat through most of the movie. Great for the whole family. The fighting can be intense like the 1st one, but if you take time to explain any child above 5 years old should be fine. Don't miss this one!

The special effects of this movie were awsome. I can not say it blows away the first one, but it is clearly a very well thought out movie and leads you on fantasic journey. It is the type of movie you wish had not ended so soon and you can't hardly wait for the next one to come out.

Wow! I was on the edge of my seat more than I expected to be! I love the story, and was surprised and confused when the plot line began to differ so greatly from the book. I had no idea what would happen next. In the end, the director stayed true to the characters and the important events for the most part. A great interpretation.
