I am a fan of the books, and have enjoyed them all. That being said, I found the movie long and tedious. It started off well, but it devolved into a long series of special effects battles that had me checking my watch. Disney opted to go light on plot and story to show more slaughter. That is too bad because C. S. Lewis wrote a great story.

It was a lot better than the first one because it was a lot darker, and the special effects were a lot better. i might have enjoyed it more because I didn't read the book. the one thing that REALLY dissapointed me near the end was that chronicles of narnia (god help them) ACTUALLY RIPPED OFF LORD OF THE RINGS.

I mean, this was a fun movie... no doubt about it. But the BEST MOVIE EVER??? No. Not close. The special effects were great, the story was uplifting, the costumes and setting were perfect... but the acting was horrible. Those four kids can't act. And all the scenes where they're confronted with impending doom, standing there, out in plain view of the enemy, looking at each other... must have happened five or six times. It just felt like when they made this movie they knew we would pay to see it... so they decided they weren't going to try hard to impress us. Sure, I'd Netflix it, but not worth my $9.50. This series is NO Lord of the Rings... not even close.

The newest Narnia flick is a great let down after the first, which I could watch over and over. This movie did not follow the plot in the Book, nor did it really even HAVE a plot. Peter gets frustrated being a kid again back in London, so he beats people up - he goes to Narnia and tries the same, but with bigger weapons. Characters are not developed to any understandable extent, and Aslan, the true spiritual motivation for everything in the books and the ultimate hero in the first movie, is almost an afterthought. Bad special effects compared to the first - the centaurs are bizarre, whereas they were gorgeous in the first, etc. All-in-all, it seems that every corner that could be cut - plot, graphics, dialogue, special effects - was cut to the detrement of the final product. I could Not watch this again.

As a stirring, emotionally complex action adventure, 'Caspian' is in many respects superior to TLTWTW, the first Narnia movie. The action, (although rendered without much blood) is intense and compelling. The production design -- especially as displayed in the costumes, armor and furnishings of the usurping Telmarines -- is brilliantly Oscar-worthy. Tithe film's chief virtue, however, lies in its rich, credible and occasionally heart-rending exploration of the emotional and moral conflicts inherent in leadership. Despite its escapist trappings, Caspian ends up exploring every teenager's struggle to learn wisdom, self-control and command in a complex and confusing world. The eye-popping special effects support a surprisingly serious message. This movie has some minor flaws -- William Moseley as Peter is somewhat overmatched by the demands of his role while Disney has cut back on the film's magnificent orchestral score in favor of pop-tinged ballads -- but these are quibbles. Anna Popplewell as Susan, Georgie Henley as Lucy and especially Skandar Keynes as Edmund have matured as actors and embody their roles with real skill and confidence. Ben Barnes is not merely handsome but convincingly intelligent, capable and idealistic as Caspian. I wouldn't take a child under eight or so to a film in which the real costs and consequences of war are made so painfully apparent -- but this film works on many levels as a first-rate summer entertainment.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I remember the first one. Awesome. It has what lots of current movies are lacking, and that is a plot and a storyline. Action is well done, but isn't the main selling point. Its added to enhance the story. So if you're looking for pure adrenaline, go somewhere else. The characters are dynamic. I mean its not oh I'm good and your evil. They get tempted, they make mistakes, and some fall, some rise up. I like it because the focus of the move is spread around. An example is Harry Potter series the focus is on the 'magic', and beating the bad guy. In the Narnia series the focus is the people and the land, and magic is an added touch. Plus the themes resonate on good for society basis . . . and personal character development. Forget about paying a psychotherapist your $ and learn from here LOL. :Þ Aslan is there to hook people up, and Christians will recognize many of the links seeded in by CS Lewis to their religion It was very close to the book, as far as my 7th grade memory can reach . . . and wonderful addition to anyone for a good adventure in a land of fantasy.

I especially love this movie because in the first one Edmund was the impulsive, sullen, misunderstood kid, and my youngest son is very much like that. In this movie, he was older and more mature, actually coming to the rescue of Peter, who was in this movie more impulsive and impatient. I hope to see my son change that way someday, too!
Knowing that Aslan is a Jesus figure, I believe it gives a good lesson about waiting to know God's will and including Him in your plans. Peter wanted to do everything his own way, and it got him (and many others!) into trouble. When he finally decided to ask Aslan for help, even without having seen him as Lucy had, that's when the Deep Magic returned to Narnia and saved the day.
The scenery was beautiful, the animation pretty realistic, and it was good to see the same lovely young actors/actresses reprising their roles. The young man who played Caspian was handsome and very expressive. It was interesting to watch the egos clash between him and Peter, and to see them learn to set those egos aside and work together for the common good.

I absolutely loved this movie! In fact, I have already seen it more than once! I believe it really lived up to it's potential and not only was the acting great again but the music was once again moving. I only was disappointed that they actually changed the personality of one of the main characters in the book to make a little more drama for the movie. Other than that, HUGE THUMBS UP!

Saw it with my 6 year old granddaughter. We both loved it. Exciting and beautiful. This movie is great, I cant find anything wrong to say about it. The director was completely true to C.S. Lewis's vision, yet those who grew up reading the books will notice the pleasant yet subtle additions to the story that would make you wonder why C.S. Lewis didnt think of adding that. To see Narnia come to life in this way has reminded me of picturing it all my childhood when I read the books, this is exactly how I expected it to be. I'm going back to see it again a few more times until it heads for DVD..!!! Its totally family-friendly, but still with enough juice to keep adults spellbound just the same as children. GO SEE IT!!!

I laughed, I cried, I saw Aslan! <grin> Seriously, this movie was every bit as good as the first Narnia flick. The plot is darker than that of the first movie, but then so is the story in the book on which it is based. I thought the film was very true to the plot of the book, and the difficult scenes, such as the aborted summoning of the Ice Witch were excellent. The computer animation, especially for the mice and the griffons was superb. The action scenes were so intense that my wife almost squeezed my hand off. She especially liked the mouse, Reepicheep. If you are a Narnia fan, and have not seen this movie, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!! <grin>

Narnia again pleases the family. A wholesome movie with good vs evil theme. I liked the first movie more and there was so much story that was glanced over, but for the viewer who has not read the books, or forgotten much of it, then the storyline works. More wholesome movies of this caliber are needed in broad release.

I can only try to explain how this movie effected me. I was crying uncontrollable as I left the movie. This movie was not about the fight between the Narnians and the Telmarines. It was about the fight between the Telmarines and imagination. An imagination I wish I had come up with. Why would anyone want to kill a world filled with such amazing imagination. I loved "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe", but "Prince Caspian" got to me in a totally different way. A truly incredible movie. I did kind of wish that Susan would have stayed with Prince Caspian at the end, but I look forward to the adventure of the next one.

We enjoyed this movie immensely, great family picture; however I thought it was a little too much killing, however in the context of a War, one would expect that there would be death. Overall however Excellent, 2 thumbs up and yes I would recommend it to others and have done so already. FYI we need more Family Movies like this beside cartoons and Harry Pothers movies which have become so DARK and would never let my kids see, something as an adult I also could enjoy also.

A must see for ages 10 and up. A group from aged 12 to 61 saw this and all greatly enjoyed it. The graphics and scenery are spectacular. While the action was at times a bit slow in the context of modern rapid fire scene or camera changes, the pace was generally fast moving and with enough twists and surprises to keep interest. This provides the time needed for exploration of the characters. This is the strength of the movie. Real human individuals who find themselves caught up in the struggle between good and evil. While each finds strength in the others of the small troop, each must individually find hope and faith to continue. There is an assurance that though mostly unseen, the hand of God is powerfully at work through those individuals. Just in time and just enough instruments of his army arise to be heroes of the moment. In the end evil in its chaotic competition for power weakens itself. This movie reminds us evil is real and seeks to entice us to take the easier way, but in the end its defeat is sure--the essential lesson for all ages.

I would actually give it about 3.5 stars if I could. I just didnt think it was nearly as good as the first one. The child actors seemed even more whiney and wimpering in this one. Also, if you havent read the books, there is a good deal of background info that is just assumed you know about which makes it a bit confusing. All that being said, it does have its high points. Definitely worth seeing.

Too much artistic license was used. C.S. Lewis would have been disappointed in that interpretation. Lewis had a reason for the way the story unfolded. A higher purpose.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I went to see this movie with my bf (no kids) and, as adults, we thought it was a great show. Special effects were on point, and it really went off of the first one so that's always a plus. I saw a review which states it doesn't follow the book; I haven't read the book, but it really was an enjoyable fantasy film. Thanks
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Although I very much enjoyed the movie, I thought that it was slightly disjointed. I was kind of confused about the beginning because it jumps a lot of setup. I also felt the same about the end. The cinematography was beautiful and I very much enjoyed it, though!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I really did enjoy this movie even though I am pretty sure it took some liberties with the original story. The visual effects in the movie were absolutely stunning, and it was nice to see another installment. I am partial to the first in the series, and I have to admit that it has been so many years since I read this book, I can't recall everything about the story. I think the acting was fairly good. It kept the interest of my 4-year-old daughter even though I don't think she understood everything going on. It's nice to have something out there family-friendly that has no bad language, inappropriate topics, or off-color humor. The humor was well-timed, and I would recommend this movie to a friend.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

It is incredible to see the Chronicles of Narnia in the manner that it has been portrayed in Prince Caspian. It felt like we were there in Narnia. I even liked this one more than the first one and I truly hope that they continue to do all of the books on film. I am looking forward to the Voyage of the Dawn Treader in 2010.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
