This movie was totally rad.
The scenery was breath-taking. It really made you feel like you were there. I am always glad to see a returning cast in a sequel. It was slower to start than the first movie, but once it got going it was worth the wait. The action was very well shot.
I wish I could go to narnia!!!

If you've never read the books, then this movie should be great to you (if you can follow it). If you, like me, have read the books 50-odd times in the past 35-odd years, then you will be sorely disappointed. Doesn't follow the book; stupid "battle scenes" (and others) were put in there that never happened (not even close!), taking up time that COULD have been used to do it all properly! In the first ten minutes you'll be shaking your head wondering what the director/ producer/ whoever-is-responsible-for-this was thinking. I really hope the next ones are better than this [insert word here]. I couldn't believe the gross liberties that were taken with this movie. C.S. Lewis is turning in his grave. Even the BBC series, cheesy as some of it was, knocks this one flat.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

While the movie little resembles the book, it is an enjoyable time spent. The leading characters are believable in how they muddle through their temptations, hardships, doubts and experiences. The older two "siblings" in particular, do a very good job in selling the concept of two adults adjusting to life as adolecents without stooping to the trivial and expected. The romance, however, portrayed between the character of Susan and the lead character, Caspian, was so useless to both plot and story as to be irritating rather than an indulgence. The character of Reecheep (sp) was reduced to a shadow puppet version of Shrek's Puss-in-Boots, which is a shame. Though the two share some of the self-bravado, the writers/illustrators really could have done more to bring the true character's likeness to the screen. While I believe the big thrust of the literature's moral point is completely lost, I do believe that lovers of the book can suspend enough of their expectations to see that this is, afterall, a Disneyfied and therefore steralized version of a great piece of literature and still enjoy the ride.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

My daughter and I loved this movie. She liked it better than the first one. I liked them equally. This one had a little more spectacular graphics I thought. Like the first installment in the Narnia series, the cinematography is gorgeous with great interiors and sweeping exterior vistas that contribute to the tone and action in the story.
Unlike it's predecessor, Prince Caspian bears little resemblence to the wonderful C.S. Lewis book and that is a huge loss. The story is not nearly as exciting in the film and we found ourselves caring less for the same characters and less involved in their adventure this time. When we got home we immediately re-read the book and wish they had done better.
But we are glad we saw it, might see it again, and recommend it to all. Give your children or grand children a real treat and read the story to them after seeing the movie, or let them read it on their own. They will be glad they did.

We really enjoyed the action packed adventures in this one and the characters from Narnia were endearing as usual. I couldn't give it five stars since they had to change Susan's and Peter's character for "modern times" but other than that no complaints.

I took my niece and she loved it! I've read the book, and although the film skipped some things and added others (attacking the castle?)--overall it told the basic core of the story. The "Narnia" movies are a great way to open the books up to a new generation, as well as opening up dialogue.....I personally loved the first film much more, but truth be told--how could they only make one?
I truly wish, however, that they could get it a bit more polished in the production values department. I am very much looking forward to the next one...dare I say "Dawn Treader"?

After watching Prince Caspian, I guess we can expect part 3. Even as a sequal, this movie does an excellent job of character development and creating a lot of interesting new characters. This movie basically takes place a year after part 1 and brings back the luster of the magical world of Narnia. There's a lot of action to peak your interest in the beginning and the finale does not disappoint as expected. But just like part 1, the middle goings of the movie tend to break the pace and can seem a little drawn out. This was a very entertaining movie with great special effects and a lot of great fighting scenes. Being a fantasy type fan, I love watching all the mystical creatures of Narnia interact with their surroundings as well as engage in battle. Do not miss this!

I swear this movie is doing as good if not a lot better than the first narnia which i saw twice in theatres. The action scenes were outstanding and the animation was so well done that it was hard to figure where it fit in, it was like being transprted into a different world. I went to see this three weeks after release and the theatre was still packed. I was happy that more characters were introduced My favorite was the cute warrior mouse Reepicheep. This movie seems to stick pretty close to the storyline in the book.

Outstanding movie! Scenery, script, characters, story line are all perfect. Follows the book precisely, and is every bit as good as Lion, Witch & Wardrobe. Adventure begins from the first frame of the movie, and doesn't stop all the way through. Can't say enough, just a perfect movie, in every way.

Although this movie, which is sequel to a children's fantasy tale, is advertised as a children's movie, it is an adults only movie. The first movie was advertised and intended for children and my children loved it. I had to repeatedly answer my children's questions during this sequel, "Why did he kill him?".
This movie is entirely too violent for children. The MPAA should be ashamed for this PG rating especially when there is a scene in the movie where an 8-10 year old girl clearly commits murder, not to mention the rest of the star cast are all supposed to be under 18 years old and committed dozens of murders in a war that they start. Everyone that is not a "good guy" or a star character DIES in this movie.
Really the only death scene that was not murder was the great cgi seen when the main "bad guy" was eaten by the water toward the end of the movie. This is acceptable to me. My youngest son then asked, "Did the water eat him because he was a bad guy and was mean?"
Everyone in this movie committed cold blooded murder and most of it was done by four children. DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN TO THIS MOVIE.

This movie held not only my attention, but my 7 year old daughters attention for the entire 2 hours and 20 minutes. The movie had plenty of humor, action and sadness to go around. I was only disappointed with one part....which I can't tell you, because it would give away a large portion of the movie! Loved the movie. Saw it with four kids who also loved it. Some (who didn't read the book) thought there was too much dialogue. The others (who did read the book) loved it. Though there are several parts which do not take place in the book (graphic battles, attack on the castle, romance between Susan and Caspian, etc) the end still wraps everything up in the same way.
It is a great book and a great movie.
Though there are long and graphic battles, I do appreciate the director's avoidance of blood, guts and yuck.
This is a well thought-out movie, with quality performances and an over all top-notch product.
LOVED IT and I hope they put every book to film.

I write this review as a Narnia purist. I've read all the books so many times that I've had to buy several new copies over the years. They are wonderful books written for adolescent children, so to transfer the stories to the screen takes truly masterful adaptation. This movie is just that -- a masterful adaptation. There is a level of urgency and conflict missing from the book Prince Caspian (which the film makers added with additional plot points) which made the movie going experience nothing short of thrilling and deeply moving. I also loved the added character delineation given to the Telmarines. Wonderful! The film makers are completely faithful to all the essential elements in the book and use the camera to perfectly show the magnificent visual descriptions of Narnia and its inhabitants. The casting is perfect. I literally felt all the characters I've grown to love jump off the page -- especially the casting of Lucy! The music is also perfect. I felt the theme created for both films so far would have made C.S. Lewis weep. It's that beautiful. I cannot recommend this movie highly enough.

My husband (and I, although I didn't admit it to him) were a little skeptical walking into the theater as to whether or not Prince Caspian would live up to the first Narnia movie. But both of us were very impressed and thought it was just as good. Anyone who loved the first movie will find this one just as satisfying. This movie was a little too long for young children, my 4 yr old was restless at about the 2 hour mark, but overall, I highly recommend it. The themes of Good vs. Evil and the need to have faith are prevalent throughout the movie and were not missed, even by my youngest. This one we will definitely add to our DVD collection. A must see for the big screen, though, as the cinematography is awesome!

I throughly enjoyed Prince Caspian, and if you liked Disney's release of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe you probably will too. While it does take some liberalities, here and there, from the book it's a fairly faithful adaptation. It's rated PG but there's a surprising amount of violence in it (although it's almost entirely bloodless) so parents of younger children may want to investigate before they go.
While the movie probably wont win any awards, it does have this going for it; I'm already eagerly awaiting the next movie in the series, Voyage of the Dawn Treader. And I suppose if it can do that's about all I could ask for.
