I went with about 30 friends to the midnight showing and we were so disappointed. For a book series that has been tested by years and years, I do not see why Andrew Adamson and the other writers felt the need to change the book so much.
If you have never read the book, you might enjoy the movie, but it is still only mildly entertaining.

We went to the midnight show last night and will be going back again today! The special effects are great and Lucy is just as adorable as she was in the Chronicles of Narnia. The movie deviates from the book a little but, it still is a must see movie!!!

There still are few quirky things about the franchise - but overall this was definitely a better movie in almost all respects compared to the first - which I still thought was pretty good. Once you get past the first 45 minutes, I think everyone will find something that reminds them of why they enjoy these stories so much.

I went to the 12:01 a.m. showing, and it was way worth only getting 3 hours of sleep! The movie was action packed. Reepicheep is so cute ("Who said that?!"). The children have grown, and you can see that in their acting. I love the addition of Ben Barnes as Caspian, and can't wait to see him again in the other Narnia movies!

This movie was exceptional. Aside from a few cheesy lines and some fewer cheesy camera shots, it held up with its intensity throughout. The battle sequences were amazingly captivating. It's totally good stuff. Definitely worth the money to go see it on the big screen. You won't be disappointed. 5/5 Would See Again.

This movie was definitely worth the money to go see, BUT my major complaint is the inaccuracy from the book to the movie. If my memory serves me right, it seemed like less than half of the movie was lined up with the book. Still had a great time at the midnight showing, so still a good movie!

The acting was great, the effects were great, but the story stank. Throughout most of the movie, I was either bored out of my mind, not sure how the current scene was supposed to advance the plot, or both. I've stayed up till midnight a good number of times to see movies, but this one totally was not worth the lost sleep.

If you have never read the book, you will most likely throughly enjoy the movie. However, if you have read the book, you will most likely be extremely disappointed. Not simple because the book is always better than the movie but because this movie only loosely follows the storyline of the book. The entire battles, major character conflicts, and love interests that were not in the book completely altered the story. Not to even mention all the small details that took so much away from the movie. They took a charming and magical childrens story and turned it into a epic hollywood adventure film while loosing the feel of the book.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Prince Caspian as a movie does all that is expected as a follow up sequal to the outstanding Chronicles of Narnia. From the writing to special effects, music and acting, makes a sweeping kid, family, and adult epic tale. This excellent C.S. Lewis tale is wel adapted to the screen by Adamson. I highly recommend it for kids and adults alike - great summer fun!!!!!

I've read the book, and was disappointed at how inaccurately the movie portrayed that story. Nevertheless, the movie had merit in its own right. Good score, great effects. I just wish they hadn't felt it necessary to almost completely reorganize the character's personalities in order to tell their story. A very Hollywood-ized version of the story, but still a must-see.

To be fair, as a movie, it was good.
But Disney changed almost everything from the book except the character names.
With the 1st movie, I was ok with the creative licenses they took because it stayed true to the essence and beauty of the story and all that is Narnia.
With Caspian, I felt they lost all of that in trying to make the movie exciting and humorous., There were parts that were absolutely uncomfortable because of how fake they felt.
And with all of this, much of the magic I loved when reading the book was lost.
The end was the best part, the look on Aslan's face is priceless.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

If you have read the Caspian book, don't expect the movie to be like the book. Enjoy the movie for what it is, a good movie.
If you have not read the book, you can still enjoy the movie for what it is, just don't assume it's like the book. I think reading the book series (seven books, of which Caspian is the fourth) is a great thing to do, keeping in mind it is more geared towards children.
If I had children, I would take them to see Narnia’s Prince Caspian.

First off, I will say that I enjoyed the movie. I was entertained, but not overwhelmed. There was just something missing from the movie...I felt like I had seen it all before. If you saw the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, then you have seen this movie. Not much has changed....
The ending was fantastic though!!

I thought this movie was very good. I went to a midnight showing and never lost interest. The storyline was well thought out, the characters were played well, and the battle scenes were great. I went with friends who had read the books and got upset because the movie is apparently NOTHING like the book. So if stuff like that bothers you, don't see it. But even so, I would recommend this movie!!

My husband and I went to Disney at midnight last night to see Narnia. I was amazed! I fell in love with all 4 kids again and Aslan. The special effects, characters, and story drew me in and gripped my heart. I continue to be awed at the parallism of this story and Christianity (our relationship with Christ). Aslan represents Christ 's character well...CS Lewis was an incredibly deep writer with profound meanings behind all his works...Narnia continues to carry this tone. As the first movie, I cried each time Aslan hit the sceen- his presence, words, and actions for those he loves displays incredible care, concern, and powerfulness to command even those who don't believe. WOW! This is one movie you don't want to miss but watch more than just once. Can't wait until 2010 for the third movie!

If you love the C.S. Lewis books, this is a must see. The book is slow and rather short, but the movie adds a couple scenes and changes around the order of some stuff. Don't expect it to be exactly the same as the book, but do expect that the morals and main events still occur.

I had waited two and a half years to be ushered back into the world of Narnia. Instead, what I saw was the Extreme Makeover, Hollywood edition, sliced and diced, tucked and pulled, until the only thing that remained of the book I have cherished was the name.
I suppose, as a movie, it was quite enjoyable, and most people will like this newest edition to the world of Narnia. As a deep Narnian fan, however, I cannot support what has been done to this world. I wanted desperately to love it because of the name Narnia attached to it ... but I love land, the people, and the virtues of a place called Narnia, not its name. I, like many of the people who were at the 12:01 AM premiere, must admit that I hated it.
If you want a movie with all the latest Hollywood effects and dazzle, by all means see Prince Caspian. But if, like me, you long to walk the forests of a land that has lived in your heart since you were a child, stick with the book ... it will never disappoint like this movie does.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Even though it wasn't as true to the books as Wardrobe, it was a fantastically made movie, that was mesmerizing until the very end. I was asked to bring my two teenage boys to the midnight opening of this movie, and had been excited about seeing it since the first trailer came out last Christmas.
Whereas the first story was totally about the four children and their ascention to heroes from scared children; this story was very much the story of Caspian himself, and the kingdom he was running from. So though this is a children's story with many funny moments, some very kid friendly characters and the four from the original movie, it is largely about war, tyranny, revolt and doubt, as well as coming of age. It is a story about children growing up, with the powerful corruption of man being the evil in this one; as opposed to the bad magic of the first.
The special effects in this one have improved much from the first; and one of the battle sequences was one of the most amazing film sequences I've ever seen. There were many similarities in this from other recent movies of this genre, but done in a fresh, powerful way (though Reepicheep I kept waiting for them to call Puss in Boots, though Reepicheep was written forty years before Shrek, and this movie nailed him). It would be confusing for a young child looking for talking characters or the four children from the beginning, as they don't even enter into the movie until a ways in; and when they entered it was as the supporting players, not the main character, though incredibly important supporting players.
The acting was very good, the scenery (four countries across two continents) breathtaking, the music still hauntingly beautiful, and the movie itself was incredibly well done, in my opinion. I enjoyed every minute of it.
Would I bring a five year old to see it? Probably not. It would probably confuse them, and has some pretty intense battle scenes with some violence, and much interaction among corrupt rulers. It is a more grown up story.
Would I recommend this to an older child, teenager or adult? Absolutely. I stayed awake and interested until 3 am on a night I was dead tired before even going. It was a very fast two and a half hours that I enjoyed thoroughly. Though as an adult. It was a grown up story. Even with talking mice
And the kids are very definitely growing up in real life; which brought a poignance to the story of their grapple of losing their innocence in the movie. I believed them utterly.
I loved every minute of it. .
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie was defiantly worth staying up late to see! I really enjoyed the retelling of one of my favorite books in the Narnia Series. If you haven't seen the first movie or read any of the books, you will be lost for certain. The movie doesn't quite hold true to the book, what with the thing between Susan and Prince Caspian which never happened, but hey, its Hollywood. The rest of the movie was on key. It was a very emotional movie, just like the book. This is another movie to see or as some would say, "put on your list!"
Yes, I recommend this movie.
