I really enjoyed this movie. It does have several spots were you wonder why the character is taking so long to do a simple task. The movie could have been told in less time. There were many extra scenes that stopped the flow of the movie. The CGI is excellent and the storyline is pretty sound. It is a bit more violent then the first one. The battle scenes are interesting and fun and scary. I think little kids under 10 may find it a bit overwhelming. A few young kids were scared in the theater while watching the movie. Overall, this movie is really good and I did enjoy myself. I look forward to the next one. Georgie, Skandar, Anna and William did a superb job!! These are incredible kids. I think adults would enjoy this movie along with older kids.

Lots of fun, well put together, but rife with the most movie cliche's I have ever seen in one film since The Princess Bride (sword fighting up a flight of stone castle steps anyone?). That said, my family actually enjoyed it a little better than the first right up to the end where it fell apart. The score was so good that you didn't notice it - a prerequisite for a good score. But right there at the end of the film the ending two scenes were drowned out by some whiny female pop song that had no place either in Narnia or the 1940's England setting and it completely destroyed the suspension of disbelief the movie and ripped the viewer right back to a 2008 megaplex. In the whole, entire film this was the only point where my jaw dropped and I thought "What in the world were they thinking????" In short, go see this film if you have a chance - it is stunningly beautiful, it doesn't patronize the viewer (too much - there's got to be some - it's a C. S. Lewis children's book series after all) and with the exception of the actor playing Peter, the cast does a good job. Well worth the time and money spent.

This movie is not nearly as good as the first, which would be hard to do because the book wasn't as good as the first either! I wished their were more Narnians and Aslan, but there were many great battles scenes and surprises! Not as many biblical parallels as the first, but still good religious topics with the kids. Overall a solid B.

I had such high expectations for this movie and unfortunately it didn't live up to them. I thought it was a decent movie, but the first was far superior to this one. Quite often sequels will not equal out to match the first movie and this is one that follows that notion. It was still a good movie and those that like/love the books or just a good fantasy movie should definitely see it in the movie theater. I do suggest if you did not see the first, to see the first though. Someone in the theater by me was a bit confused. I also hope that they continue with making the additional stories and I think this movie leaves it open so they can.

Not quite as good as the first, but definately still a "must see". It took me awhile to see the Christian similarities, but once I did, WOW. I would have liked to see more of Aslan, but I understand now why he didn't appear until the end. I think all the actors did a wonderful job on the characters, even those new to the movie. It was nice to see the returning actors, it made it easier to follow who they were. I admire the producers and directors for taking on such a big creation such as C.S. Lewis's Narnia. I feel they portrayed his characters well.

I took 4 kids to the movie last night ages 8 and 9. Although nobody was crying it was very violent with lots of long battle scenes. It reminded me alot of Lord of the Rings in the story line and battle scenes. There were lots of little kids there and I can only imagine that they had their parents up with nightmares all night.

I thought it was a phenomenal movie. Better than the first! I have not read the book but I know the underlying story. This one had it all! Great action, special effects, interesting characters and a touch of romantic attraction. Very well done and my 13 y.o. old son knew who the characters represented. Again Hollywood has managed to take a book and turn it into something worth seeing. This has so much in it the film that keeps the audience wanting the next moment! I have read all of the Cronicles books, and can't wait to see then next movie in the series. Spectacular is the word that came to my mind as I was leaving the theatre last night. Although the order of events was changed slightly and the filmmakers did take a little bit of license by adding a hint of romance between Susan and Caspian (something I remember imagining on my own when I read the book, and I think that's what happens in a grownup's mind. I wonder what it would have been like if kids had been in charge), all of that pales in the glory of this wonderful film. It is every bit as good as the first one, if not better in some ways.
The reason for that is due to the genius of the author of the series. The genius of the filmmakers is that they had the humility to be true to the story as C.S. Lewis meant it. No one could improve on C.S. Lewis and I'm sure the filmmakers realize how stupid it would be not to simply portray as accurately as possible the beauty and metaphorical meaning of this wonderful, magical and yet completely true tale.

Fantastic visual effects and continuous action scenes combine for a great sequel. Be prepared, however, for continuous violence through an almost constant battle. Also, not as much on-screen time spent in developing some of the primary characters as with the first Chronicles. Slight artistic deviation from book did not significantly detract from over-all story. Realism of the mythical creatures and violent battle scenes may not be appropriate for smaller children, but story line and symbolism can spark family discussion with older children. Adults attracted to sci-fi genre will definitely be entertained.

Not quite as magical as the previous one, but a very good story, and the kids were up to the acting task. Loved Price Caspian's hair, and actually felt the bad guys were bad enough, and the good guys flawed enough to be believable. Special effects were geat, New Zealand rides again, was great in LOTR, now in Caspian. Fight scenes were also pretty good, and the Ice Queen is great! All in all, a good value for the $$, and will probably see once more just to be sure I caught everything.

My son and I really enjoyed this movie. The special effects are awesome. It was a wonderful movie from beginning to end without any bad language whatsoever. Don't go into this movie expecting it to be exactly like the book (there's a reason that it's "Based" on the book!).
There are things that are altered and changed; there's the battle at Miraz's castle? Where did that come? Susan and Caspian-what? Peter being a total and complete jerk and insulting Caspian? Huh?
There wasn't an obvious set-up for "Dawn Treader", so I'm curious to see how they plan on plotting that out.
Reep is, of course, cute!!
Really, don't go into this expecting Oscar-worthy performances, nor expecting an exact adaptation of the book, because it's neither of those.
It IS, however, a fun ride and a fun movie. Definately darker than the first, but the story itself was a bit dark as well.
Go see it in the theater at least once. Then pick it up on DVD when it comes out.

Prince Caspian is not my favorite of the Narnia Chronicles, although the most amazing part of it is one that the filmmakers spent not enough time on. When the four children arrive at the ruins of Cair Paravel, it takes much more time in the book as they gradually come to realize that this potential archeological dig belonged to THEM; a place where they lived and played for many years in a previously luxurious palace. They reach the conclusion far too quickly and then the director spends far too much time later in more meaningless battle scenes. I really don't need to see the marching Telemarines more than three times to get the idea. And I agree with other reviewers; why the fictional romance between Susan and Caspian? She doesn't need to kiss him before she leaves! Totally unnecessary plot stupidity. It was far more interesting to watch the hints - and far more in keeping with Lewis's lack of details in any of his books -rather than have them "go for it." Oh well.... Still, the special effects were amazing and I would rather see them on a large screen than on DVD. Go see it; it's worth it.

It's strange: every time in the past that I've come out of a theater saying "that was way different from the book", I meant it in a bad way. Caspian has changed all that!
Don't get me wrong, the book is great. But it wouldn't have worked as a movie. And, somehow, they managed to make it different enough from the book to be a good movie, while still staying true to the basics of the book. Well done!

We have waited and waited for this movieand were not disappointed. It was awesome. The photography and special effects were incredible. Even the animated characters looked real. The story line was exciting and compelling even if you had not read the book or knew it by heart. We will definitely recommend this movie to everyone -- except perhaps to little children. There are a lot of battle scenes although they do a very good job of not showing graphic violence. We will be anxiously awaiting the next in the series -- but not before we've seen this again -- and again.

My daughter's 1st words after the movie ended were, "That was the best Disney movie EVER! We have to get that on DVD." So, that sums up a child's perspective. I took four of my six kids and my wife. Those of us who loved the Chronicles of Narnia books loved the movie. The rest thought it was worth seeing, but did not absolutely love it. I think we all agreed that the movie was better than the book. I had only recently read Prince Caspian to our 5-year-old twins. I am glad I did. I was able to prepare them for the dark feel of the movie. Was this movie better than the first? I liked it better, my wife did not. We will likely buy it in order to keep the series in tact, but I doubt my wife will choose to watch it again. The movie was rated PG, but I would almost give it a PG-13, only because it was so dark and so full of war action. They never actually show the heads being chopped off, nor do they use any vulgar language, but it is clearly a movie about war between the Telmarines and the Narnians. Hollywood did take some liberties with the story, which in my opinion worked well. The message of the book and the message of the movie are consistent. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves the Chronicles of Narnia.

Movie was action packed. Well done. A great follow up to Lion, Witch and Wardrobe. My seven year old loved it too. A bit long, but held our attention the whole way through.

I don't remember whether I saw the first movie or not, but my kids watched a cartoon of it over and over for years, so I knew the story. I thought the film was great! For the late showing we went to, I was wide awake the whole time, and usually I'm drifting off with other films, but this one kept my attention all the way through! I will definitely recommend it!

Some of what the characters are saying is hard to understand, and it kind of got off to a little slow start, I still think the movie was excellent and would not only recommend it to everyone, but would go see it again at the theater!! Can't wait until it comes out on DVD. Our two daughters saw it and they are 6 & 7, and loved it as much as the first one!

Very choppy, doesn't flow very well at all. The fact that they skipped a bunch of info. didn't help either. It did have a spectacular water/river scene battle though. The first one was definately better!

The movie was OK, not a snoozer, but not one I would be dying to ever watch again. I felt that the first one was definitely a lot better. And I was disappointed that they made a fictional romance (where did it come from?) between Caspian and Susan... random and did not help the story. The effects were amazing and I thought they made the (in my opinion) most boring story in the Narnia series decent. I hope they continue with the books, because knowing how awesome they are at special effects, I think it would totally cool to see how they would do 'Voyage' and 'Silver Chair'... It all comes down to: NOT one that you HAVE to see in theatres. You could probably wait until it comes out on DVD, but it's still worth seeing, nonetheless.
