I loved the first one, but loved the second one even better. Though it starts out slow because they have to tell Prince Caspian's story, I loved all the battle scenes-good vs. evil. Like another reviewer said it is very much like LOTR when they do the battle scenes. Several new animated characters totally made this film for me and the dwarf that Queen Lucy befriends is great. Love the special effects in this one. Looking forward to the 3rd one!

This was just awful. How could they dare to destroy a wonderful story and (what's worse) relegate Aslan to an irrelevant, disconnected side show? I really did not think that even the Disney people would dare to do such a horrendous job, butchering Lewis's beautiful book. This is not even the same story, the theology is all messed up, and the entire feeling is different. Sure, go see it. But if you have any literary sense at all, you will bring a box of kleenex and some Pepto Bismol. And make sure you bring a friend to whom you can rant afterwards.

We completely enjoyed this movie. We took our children and we were all on the edge of our seats. The movie never had a dull moment. Beautifully casted as well. We also love being able to make comparisons from the movie to that of our Christian faith and beliefs. We continue to talk about the movie the day after! Loved it!

Excellent movie!! Would highly recommend to anyone! Only down sides are that I was hoping to see the path to Aslan's How (stone table mound) developed more where each character in turn slowly begins to see Aslan. This revealed (in the book) each child's heart and willingness to believe. Would have also like to seen the dialog between young Caspian and his Uncle Miraz as it is dripping with meaning (excellent reminder of what the average Christian kid has to go through at schools anymore), but it was absent. Those parts that were added that were not in the book were done well though. For instance, the scene with the hag and the ware wolf calling up the white Witch was completely redone, but done well. The scene was originally about how Nicabrick had turned sour inside (as opposed to Trumpkin's willingness to investigate), but it was shown as Edmond's reminder of the danger of turning that direction.

I personally love Prince Caspian. It is absolutley nothing like the book, so don't go if you're going to critize its similarities and differences. Only a couple things were seriously altered.
This movie had spark. And I loved watching my childhood being brought back to life.

From opening scene to the end this movie grabbed me and did not let go. The film remained faithful to the book and gave enough information for those who may not have read it, or had it read to them as children. I did not want this one to end and kept the "Narnia" feeling well into the next day. Definitiely a movie to see again.

I know it did not follow the book exactly but it was such fun to see the characters and laugh with the others in the theatre at Reep a Cheep and the dwarfs and to experience the thrill of fighting the darkness along with the Kings and Queens of Narnia. Can't wait for the next one.

Overall the movie was very enjoyable. For those who have read the books there are several details throughout the movie that are very nice and make the movie even better. For those who haven't you can still follow the plot line but a few character lines might make you sit back and go, "why did they say that?". Probably the most disappointing part of the movie was the lack of interaction between Aslan and the girls. It was limited to Lucy and only in small parts of the film. Time wise, and because of how they resequenced the plot, it was understandable, but still disappointing.

This movie was pretty fantastic and a set up for the next book. as expected. It left me feeling sad because the older children can't go back to Narnia just like the books. Lucy has preserved her innnocence and it is her child's heart that really wins the battle by finding Aslan. It was a pretty awesome tale about how we all need deliverance from oppression, sthe odds look daunting, and that God's awesome power commands anything to provide deliverance. Deliverance means there is going to be a meeting and a battle and it is never pretty. There is a lot of killing in this movie but not graphically shown. Prince Caspian seemed a bit French. The mouse comedy was enjoyable, but he was deadly. A few well placed one liners. Typical rivalries for power and the thrown. It is a shame the chronicles of Narnia weren't put into a movie before the Harry Potter books since it becomes clear that the C.S. Lewis books written in the 50's were the original story lines. So the critics are completely WRONG talking about who's stealing ideas from who, now ofcourse it is clear that the people making these movies used ideas from other movies they made to create this feature. But the C.S. Lewis books were the original 'magical' story but based on the truth of Christ. The fact that all the Narnian's has joined together confused my son because the 'bad' guys in the 1st movie changed sides. I just think the movie alluded to more things that adults would be aware of but not children. I had to explain a lot because the movie wasn't clear to follow unless you know the books or are a moive buff.

Well, I have to give it five stars because it was an absolute thrill ride. However, Hollywood drives me crazy. C.S. Lewis would be absolutely disgusted at the additions to the plot. Seriously, was the castle storm needed? No. Lewis would also have abhorred the fact that there was so little of Aslan in the movie. He may not have been as "big" of a character as in the L/W/W, but come on... He is the main character of the series. He is THE MAIN CHARACTER!!! Get him in the movies. This was an attempt to present more action and less of a story. While these books were meant to be fantastical and entertaining, Hollywood needs to understand that there are other ways besides "kiss scenes" and bloodshed to entertain an audience. (I do enjoy battle sequences, but there was so much of the original story left out for the sake of squeezing in more fighting). Go watch it, but read the books and see what Lewis was really trying to teach: the Restoration of Truth and Grace.

I thought this movie was very well done, but thought there were too many changes to the story. some dialog was switched to other characters and some scenes were either changed or not covered as well as they could have been. overall, I think it was worth the price and I will be seeing it at least 2 more times. If you are a detail freak like I am, you might cringe at some of the changes, but mostly it follows the book.

I would be lying if I said that this movie did not hold my interest, it did, however, it is not a movie of the book Prince Caspian. I realize, movies are never like the books, but they totally retold the story in a completely muddled and nonsensical way. They moved up the action to have the Pevensies meet the Prince within the first hour, they added copious, unnecessary battles, and they made the whole point of the story a different point. I also question, with the level of violence how this movie received a PG rating. I know that they do not show any blood, however, they do more than just hint at beheadings and horrible deaths. There were children sitting behind us that were under the age of 8 and they were really traumatized and confused by the movie. This movie is not for anyone under the age of 10 or 11. The story is very complicated and there is no cuddly lion until practically the end of the movie for the little ones. I would say the religious aspect of the story was considerably less than in the first movie. Overall it was just average.

Although Prince Caspian did not follow the book's storyline as closely as The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, I was not disappointed. While some additions (namely battle scenes) were clearly for special effects, other changes (such as Peter's rivalry with Caspian and Susan's attraction to the prince) were insightful, showing the transition of the older Pevensies from childhood innocence to more grown-up concerns, and explain why they would not return to Narnia. Great comic relief is provided by Reepicheep and Trumpkin the Dwarf, and the entire cast demonstrates superb acting talent. I am eagerly awaiting Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

My boyfriend, best friend and I went to go see this movie last night, which was opening day. I must say I was suprised w/the age range of the audience that was there last night and how behaved everyone was throughout the movie. Well, I really didn't know what to expect last night when I saw this movie, but it was a very exciting, thrilling and engrossing movie. Ever since the first minute I was so tuned in that I didn't even realize I was in a movie theater throughout the movie. It was that amazing. Action, drama, romance. What more can you ask for? C.S. Lewis would give it a standing ovation, if he was still alive today. If I'm forced to be critical, I'd say the only thing to change would be the Talemarin's thick accent. American ears can tune in better to a British accent now days, better than 20 years ago, but the eastern european accent of the Talemarin was way to deep for me. I missed too many words, but it didn't take away from the storyline. Well done!

This is one of the best movies I've seen in a while. It was violent, but not bloody. The acting was superb and the special effects, magnificent. When I saw that the movie was 2hr 20min long, I thought I would be struggling to stay with it, but quite the contrary. I couldn't believe the time had passed. My children were absolutely blown away. I don't think it is for the very young, because of the movie's intensity. However, it is still great family fun. I would recommend this movie to anyone. Every bit as good as the first.

I had read the book while waiting for the movie to be released and like so many others, I was disappointed at how the movie veered off the book storyline. Susan never had a romance with Caspian...that just distracts those of us who know the story. The movie was well done though and effects were excellent...not cheesy at all. I would recommend it but unlike the first one, I would not see it multiple times unless it came out on cable for free.

this was an excellent movie. it modernized the characters from c.s. lewis old-fashioned angels to real teenagers with actual emotions. and normally, while i'm opposed to a love story, this was more of an exception because it was not the classic happy ever after. this is a good movie, as good as the first. if you've read the book, i think it is better, it being one of the worst books in the series.

I'm a huge Narnia fan having read the books when i was about 10 years old.Today at 26 years old i still enjoy my collection of Narnia books.The movie was fantastic!!! It keeps you entertained and it's full of action.Some people say that Prince Caspian is better than the first movie i don't think i would agree with this.None the less it is still a great movie to go and see!

The special effects were amazing! The acting terrific! I can't wait for them to do the rest of the books!! Hopefully SOON! I would recommend going to see this one!

Big fan of the books! Prince Caspian was so well done! Great family movie. They managed to do an excellent job keeping it appropriate for kids while being edgy and gritty enough for adults. The computer animation in these first two have been so seamless. The animals are amazing! Can't wait to see the rest!

I loved the first and couldn't really see how they would make prince caspian as interesting. However I was pleasantly surprised. I still don't understand the unneeded and badly developed romance but whatever. The effects were awesome and there were several scenes that really hit home with me. I love Lewis' ability to discretely point his characters and themes to the Bible. It was truly a treat to watch.

I enjoyed the movie throughly, and thought that the pacing was much better than in the first film. The Pevensie children are still charming and lovely, but the real draw here is Ben Barnes as Prince Caspian, who acts rings around them (and is very easy on the eyes!). The movie takes some liberties with the plot of the book, but it worked well and helped to balance the narrative for a visual presentation. The movie only felt 90 minutes long, instead of 2 and a half hours, and I spent several parts of it on the edge of my seat. This is well worth seeing in the theater, and I definitely recommend it.

This movie was absolutely great!! My husband and I took our 3 kids to see it the first night and I am really glad we did. The special effects are great and there is alot of humor in it. It doesn't start the same way as the book, but what movie ever does? It is way worth it to see it on the big screen, there is no way I could have waited for it to come out on DVD. I will buy it the day it does come out though. If you want a really nice family thing to do, take the kids and go have fun!!!

I thought it was better than the first. The movie was on going and never slowed up. I thought that was great and I like how much it was like the book. Great movie, I would see it again.
