I went with a friend who has not seen the first Narnia movie, but has just heard its story from me. He liked this film. I liked it too - only that it could have been made better. Few noticeable things in this movie are that the Telmarines are all for some odd reason our earth equivalent of Latino people...both looks and accents. Prince Caspian himself could have been someone with better looks and acting. The four siblings have done a wonderful job - no doubt. it was a pleasure to see good old Lucy all grown up. She is really sweet. Aslan's part seemed a bit lame, though the river rising sequence was good. Walking trees joining a battle reminded me of the Two Towers. White witch - nice to see her again...I have read the book in 2006. Funny that it did not feel like watching a movie made from a book that one has read...Wondering if the story line has been changed somewhere. The cinematography was good, the graphics superb. All said and done, we know that most of the sequels to big films end up being disappointing, so be prepared for some of that feeling. Or just choose to forget the first film and watch this movie with an open mind!!!!

Very fun and interesting. Some liberties were taken that are way off from the book, but that is normal. There was a lot of war and fighting, but almost no blood. It could be a little hard for young children, but it also has great morals, and leaves on such a positive note. It stayed true to the feel of the first movie. I would go see it again!

I wish there were a 4 1/2 star rating; this movie was better than merely good, but just short of perfect. I wish we could have seen more of Aslan, and the battles went on a little too long for my taste. Otherwise, everything about it was extremely well done. The court intrigue was thrilling; the story of Prunaprismia and her son was resolved even better than it was in the book; the pacing, editing, and cinematography were all excellent and the acting good. Besides this, there was a lot of beauty in the movie, both in the visuals and in the messages. Well done! I would see it again and recommend it to friends and family.

i don't know why they added stuff not in the book. Peter would never risk the lives of his people on a fool hearted siege battle. It isn't in his nature. Which makes everything that happened during that scene not true to the story. It isn't a device to make the story shorter or more concise either. It's simply added nonsense. They also added a love interest plot which isn't in the original story. i can at least understand the entertainment value of this.
Now, if you can get past all of that, which is rather HUGE.....
i enjoyed the white witch scene because, geez, she has captivating evil persona down pat and the ironic humor ending is perfect.
The effects are very well done. The make-up and costuming is excellent. The unfolding of the story that is true to the book is entertaining. The final battle, Peter doing the one on one (wishing to save the lives of his people), then the opposing side forcing battle, great battle scene following - great scene here.
i love the portrayal of Susan. The lesson of believing in your self is well done. i think they could have found some more dialogue other than repeating the dream and reality scene dialogue almost exactly.
i love these characters and it is always great to spend time with them. Too bad they smudged Peter's characteristics, i wanted to slap and shake the person responsible severely. Peter the Magnificent, the High King deserved his title - what were YOU guys thinkin'?
One of best qualities of the Narnia series is the role model qualities of the characters. The main children characters make mistakes congruently acceptable with their nature and then learn from those mistakes. Their family and friends forgive them for their faults and accept their growth in the learning process of becoming a responsible adult.
i give it three stars for being fun entertainment to watch (if you don't know the story), great make-up and costumes, great special effects and good final battle scene.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This story moved so fast. I could hardly believe it when we were at the end. The humor was great. It was not as "dark" as some reviews had depicted it. One scene was very sad, but it was a fabulous movie for the family to see. Boy, girls, and adults will love this movie! Tell your friends to go see it also!

Excellent acting! Didn't stray too far from the original book. The computer animation was done right in this movie and wasn't overkill. Nice not to have so much blood / gore - felt like kids won't have nightmares as a result. Good for a variety of ages. Everyone applauded in our theater when it was over! My kids want to read the next book right away now.

Caspian was a very good movie, but not much like the book. I'm not sure how Andrew Adamson could have made it more faithful to the book in the time frame of a two hour plus movie. Though some of the religious themes were missing (the order in which the children first come to see Aslan related to their faith), the theme of seeking and asking for His help is developed. Peter is not as noble as in the book (in my belief), but is impulsive and petty in the beginning. He does redeem himself, and I suppose that's the point. The scenery is gorgeous, the special effects are better than the first movie. Can't wait for Dawn Treader! How will Adamson get all of that in to one movie?

We took our kids to see the movie the night it opened. What a treat for all of us! It kept us all captivated until the very end - even the 7 year old. I highly recommend this movie for all families. You do not have to worry about inappropriate material and although the battle scenes were intense, they leave the blood and guts out of it. Thanks for another alternative for my family!

Narnia, Prince Caspian was a disappointment to me. C. S. Lewis wrote Asland as a major background part of this movie, but the movie never showed this, distorting the plot of the movie to a great degree. The movie was in parts too long and boring. Conflict between the 2 Kings was confusing. I would not take my grandchildren to this movie because it missed the mark in a good vs. evil plot and was too violent for them.

A great movie! If you thought the first trip was a bit too childish, give this trip a chance! Narnia movie creators seem to be using the 'shift' key! With many of same elements from our first trip to Narnia, this one seems to come across in big caps....the action, the drama, the humor, the effects, the intrigue. As we can the children have grown older looking, so Caspian is a bit older, a bit more mature. My only negative comment would be the absence of Aslan thru much of the movie, but even that seems to be the same kind of shift I am speaking about. Regardless, it is a trip well taken!

Our family has been waiting for this movie with such anticipation. For me personally it was in some ways better and in other not as good as the first. The special effects and cinematography were awesome. However very disappointed that they did not stick closer to the book. I understand that they have to take some liberties to make it more interesting and to fill in spots to make it flow. But certain aspects that were added were not necessary and had NOTHING to do with the books whatsoever. I would recommmend it to others with the understanding that it is not as close to the book as the first. The acting and scenery were superb.

This movie is exciting with great special effects. The characters are strong - I wanted Prince Caspian to be a bit more fiery like Peter and his brother and sisters. I love the Lewis books, and this movie was charming. I still like the first Narnia movie a little better -- the enchantment of the White Queen can't be beat -- and I would recommend you (re)view the first Narnia before seeing this one. Some things won't make sense without having the back story. Aslan is a true hero. As in the first movie, the cinematography here is great.

This movie was worth the hype. I'm amazed at how well the animals were created from the descriptions in the book. For anyone wondering if the movie follows the book, the answer is most of the time. I knew before I saw the movie that the screenwriters had changed the plot and I was ready for it. I do not think it added anything and it was irritating to those of use who loved the stories. Overall, it's an action- packed story superbly brought to the screen and I will see the movie again.

CS Lewis is one of my favorite authors and I have been disappointed in the past when people try to take an amazing book and turn it into a movie. However, once again - Narnia comes to live in "Prince Caspian". Very true to the book and even though it is a long movie (2 hrs. 20 min) you are encaptured throughout the story - all the way to the very end. LOVED IT!
Battle scenes may be a bit much for young children...but definately a family movie.

I enjoyed this movie alot. it had alot more battle sequences than the first one, making it more of the lord of the rings type film. The romantic hints between Caspian and Susan kept it interesting, while the different narnian creatures were entertaining to watch. In this movie, Susan seemed to be more cold towards Narnia and Aslan, as if she was 'to old' for them. Overall, it was a very well done film. I give it 4 stars.

Only Disney could revisit Narnia and leave the perfect tour guide, C.S.Lewis, behind. This film obliterated classic lines from the novel that tell a story of faith and faltering. Of course, I guessed Disney would not let the spiritual undertones come through but to add completely invented segments to the story - that takes some nerve. A castle assault that never happened, a romantic rewrite, a rivalry between the two Kings and the summoning of the white witch with a drop of Adam's blood? Apparently, Disney thinks they write better Lewis than Lewis.
This movie, for all its special effects, is only nominally reminiscent of the orignial Prince Caspian and as such, Lewis fans will be bitterly disappointed. I almost walked out at more than a half dozen points - and would have if I hadn't taken my whole family to the show. My 9 year old, who has read the Chronicles poked me dozens of times to say "Mom, that's not how the book goes." No kidding.
If you go - be prepared for a movie that is sadly misnamed.

I read all the Chronicles of Narnia books several times when I was a child, and while the movie deviates from the books in several points, it worked.
For those complaining that the movie had too much LOTR in it, you do know that Tolkein and C.S. Lewis were friends, right? A lot of their stories share similar imagery. And for those comparing it to Harry Potter - C.S. Lewis came first, and that train station situation was in his book first. ;)
I felt that the movie was just as dark as the book would have wanted it to be - it is a dark period in Narnia's history where they have all but forgotten Aslan and are ruled by a tyrant. Overall, it was a great, fun movie.

I am a fan of the Narnia books and have been looking forward to this movie for a long time. Although Adamson and his writers do deviate from the book in some ways, such as Peter and Caspian's ages and the romance between Susan and Caspian, I think that all of the changes were necessary. If he wanted to continue to use the same cast, which I feel was an excellent decision on his part, those were changes that had to be made (except maybe the Susan-Caspian thing-that was kinda random). The casting of the other characters was amazing. As usual, the special effects were enchanting and the battle scenes surpassed all of my expectations. As with the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Adamson has made this story endearing and accessible to even those who have not read the books, while still maintaining the integrity of C.S. Lewis' classic tales. I really enjoyed this movie and may go see it again.

Srictly from an entertainment perspective, I loved it! The cinematography, acting, and special effects were definitely stepped up a notch from LWW. The characters of Trufflehunter and Reepicheep were believable (unlike a few of the cg characters in LWW whom I could never see without having to forcefully suspend disbelief), and Ben Barnes did quite a good job at portraying Caspian (despite having to pull off a Spanish accent - which he does very well!).
I would consider myself a Narnia purist; I grew up loving the books and have nearly every detail memorized of these wonderful stories. I think the reason I enjoyed the movie so much, despite the numerous changes (and I do mean numerous, so prepare yourself if you know the book backwards and forwards!) was that most of the changes, dare I say this, made it a better movie. I don't mean a better STORY! But the flow of the story in the book simply would not have worked on the big screen. Some of these changes bugged me, and I thought they really overdid some additions like the conflict between Caspian and Peter. Nevertheless, the heart of the story remained in tact, as did the strong messages of hope, forgiveness, and courage that flow through C.S. Lewis' book. It wasn't perfect (and in this life, what is?) but I am planning on seeing it a second time!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
