The main characters in the latest Narnia sequel lacked the depth and character I expected from them after seeing the first production. Even Aslan seemed to be sleep walking. Either we didn't see enough character development to appreciate their trials and tribulations which only made them less significant or the writing simply wasn't strong enough to support such enormous expectation after the first. I found myself pining for the old characters in this new version....

I was so excited to see this movie that I was sure it couldn't possibly live up to my expectations. But I was definitely wrong! The books have been a favorite of mine for years, and the movie really did "Prince Caspian" justice. The whole tone of the movie was darker than The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, but it suited the story well. The only shocking thing to me was the level and amount of violence - this is definitely not something I'd recommend for small children. That being said, nothing was gratuitous, and the fighting scenes were amazing to watch! The actors have really grown up quite a bit, and I thought they were fantastic. If you enjoyed the first one (or even if you thought the first was only so-so) go see Prince Caspian immediately!

The first movie was amazing, but they changed too much in Caspian for my
taste. I am a huge fan of the books, i don't believe Lewis' true
symbolism and meaning of the book came out. i personally don't know
what to do with it, they added things that were un-needed.
Bottom Line^^^^
If you have not read the book, you will enjoy it very much.
=======
If you have read the book, either don't see it, or go in with this
mindset: "this movie will be dramatically different from the book, and
I should watch it as an orignal script, rather than an adaption."
^^^^^^
I personally intend to view this film again with this new mindset.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The second this movie began, I had a good feeling about it. The graphic for all the fake creatures and etc. was great. The only bad parts was the acting for some of the characters. Only once did the scene look disturbingly fake, otherwise, I loved every second of it. There were jaw-dropping events, and very funny parts. I think the Chronicles of Narnia movies are still strong.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, blew my socks off!!! The orchestration for the movie was perfect, the storyline was great, and best of all... the ending was sweet and romantic. As Caspian was a small child, he had been taught the true meaning of narnia, such as talking animals and creatures. As he blows one of the Pevensies horns, the young kids find themselfs in what they thought of as Cair Paravel. When the kids travel through the woods, they meet Caspian unexpectedly. But as his uncle King Miraz tries to steal the throne, Caspian builds up his army to fight against his uncle. As Aslan, The Powerful Lion, comes in, he makes a door in the air for the children to walk into. Sadly, the children don't get to return except for two of them. They them find themselfs at their normal place. I hope that this review was helpful.

You get the picture from all the other reviews. It's definitely a must see and has some similarities to and a mini-Lord of the Rings feel. Like all the best story telling there are true and good lessons to be gleaned and discussed. I think there was a little more humor in this one than the first as well. I plan to get it when it comes out on DVD too.

Most movies leave you speechless if they're good...this movie kept me and my boyfriend talking about it the whole way home. Its so amazing how film makers portrayed the christian symbolism from the C.S. Lewis books. This is without a doubt the best movie I have seen so far. The action scenes were intense as they shood be. there were some beautiful moments between the animals and the kings and queens, moments of trust and loyalty. I would recommend this movie and any other chronicles of narnia movies to anyone.

Saw the new Narnia movie late last night, and loved every minute of it! You picked up a year later chronologically, but centuries later in Narnia, ...terrific idea. The new characters (digital and real) were very likeable and even though the movie was over 2 hours in length, you hated that it had to end. I'm looking forward to the next installment already! Bravo, you have a winner.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian was an excellent movie and captured the diverse interests of a 6 yr. old girl and her 13 yr old brother. Both kids (and I) loved the movie and are planning to see it again even though it's slightly on the long side for small fry (5-7). I might hesitate to allow any child under the age of 6 to see it as this is slightly darker than the previous Narnia movie and the movie length may have them fidgeting (or worse) while some of the nuances may escape them entirely. Great acting, movie script and cgi!

I went to an 11:15pm showing of the film and although it was fairly empty (not a good sign for opening night) it was an enthusiastic crowd. The story moves along fairly well with beautiful scenery and fantastic characters around every corner. The children have grown, most noticeably young Lucy and so has Narnia. It is no longer a place of peace and co-existence. The humans are now at odds with the creatures of Narnia and it is up to the Kings and Queens of Narnia to once again unite the lands.
There is much more action in this offering. Good and evil is not as well defined as last time, and there is some innuendo and back stabbing that may not be clear to younger viewers. There are times when the human characters become confused as they all generally have the same look about them, Spaniards I believe. However, it is the fantastical characters that once again steal the show.
Like the beavers of the first movie, this one is filled with loveable characters. Two really stand out, a dwarf played by Peter Dinklage, and a mouse voiced by Eddie Izzard. The first is the Mr. Tumnus of this version. He befriends Lucy and learns a bit about himself along the way. Aslan is, as before, a feat in computer graphics, as he once again saves the day. This time he displays much more potent magic than previously shown.
My main complaint is the title lead, Ben Barnes, who plays Caspian. He is dry and boring and ads very little to the group dynamics. He looks and acts like a young Keanu Reeves, which isn't really a good thing in a movie that is based solely on the chemistry of its young stars.
Although it had a few casting flaws, the movie over all was fun to watch. I teared up in a few places, and laughed when I was cued. I have not read the books and to me the movie ended a bit odd and abruptly. I assume it will be explained in the next sequel. It should do well in the long haul, although judging from my empty theater it has a long road ahead.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

In all fairness, I liked LWW as a book better than PC as a book -- so the fact that I liked LWW as a movie better than PC would follow.
Amazing visuals in this film -- and the CGI is awesome!
I love how stories that were written decades ago still can make a bit of political commentary on today's world.
Two favorite characters: Peter Dinklage as Trumpkin and Eddie Izzard as Reepicheep
There's a dramatic lull about 2/3 of the way through the film. I wonder what Andrew Adamson had in mind with that?
If you're going to see the film for the epic battle scenes, you won't be disappointed.

I am a big fan of reading the book before seeing the movie. Usually, the movie disappoints: The Wizard of Oz Returns, Mary Poppins, Emma ... but Prince Caspian was well worth watching. It followed the book very closely, with only the slight addition of a flirtation. I was very pleased, and am looking forward to the third installment, Prince Caspian and the Dawn Treader.
I really recommend the books, too.

I loved the movie. I definately liked that it had an edgier side this time around. The only draw back is that my 4 year old was expecting it to be "glamorous" like Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe and it was not. The scenes were darker in color and metaphoracly as well.
I loved the battle scenes. I would recommend it as a family friendly movie but just prepare the younger one for more adult storylines. Over all a definate winner!

Before "Prince Caspian" came out, I re-read the book because I was curious to see what would get left out. I'm glad I re-read the book because I would have been really confused. All through the movie, I could hear people around me wondering what was going on. "How is Caspain really king?" "Who is his professor?" "How many years have gone by in Narnia since the four kids left?" I liked what I saw on the screen but the script really needed a tune-up. I understand why they decided to leave out most of Caspian's backstory, but perhaps the writers could have left a bit more in to make sure the audience got a handle on the all-important why behind the action!
