This was exciting from the very first moments! My whole family was caught up in the drama and action.
It might be a bit scary for very young children as it is darker than the first movie.
I strongly recommend this movie it is a fun thrilling adventure

I was very dissappointed in the movie. Sure it was action packed, but it didn't follow the storyline from the book. I am a huge fan of the "Chronicles of Narnia" and wished the moview was more accurate.

This movie was great. I took my son and nine of his friends for his 11th birthday party and they were all glued to their seats the entire show. Most of them had seen the first and were very anxious for this one. The action, adventure, comedy and special effects, did not let anyone down. I had not seen the first but enjoyed this one so much, I am definitely planning on renting it this weekend. My husband and 17 year old daughter promised to fill me in, but I have forbidden them to do so because I want to watch it for myself.

This is definitely a movie the entire family will enjoy. You were enticed from the opening scene. I thought it was great to see how the children had grown not only physically but emotionally since we left them in the last movie.
The plot, good vs. evil, is a topic that anyone, any age can understand and you could really feel the torment each character had to endure to conquer those emotions.
Although, I did think the first movie had more in the way of content, this movie, I felt, wasn't as scarry for the younger children.
The cinematography and special effects were incredible. When the arrows went flying it felt as if they were flying around you.
A must see for everyone! Even if you didn't see the first one.

Great adventure! Great scenes, costumes, and believable characters! I think it could have/should have been longer. I hope the DVD is much longer. I think the editors overdid the cutting of scenes. And Prince Caspian! Wow! That guy has a GREAT future in Hollywood!

I found this movie extremely slow paced and gross in its allegories - it was like Christian propaganda. If you are going to make a movie geared for children, with no blood on the swords and no visual points of entry of any weapon during battle, etc., then quit trying to go for 'Lord of the Rings'-like tone, feeling and length. Seriously, I don't know how you're going to get any kid to sit long enough to watch this. I couldn't do it and I'm 37.

After seeing the local paper's rating of a "2" for the movie, my teenage daughter and I went to see the movie out of devotion to C.S. Lewis. From beginning to end this was most entertaining, to both of us! There was a nice mix of compelling plot and action. For all Narnia fans, a must see!

After seeing the first of C.S. Lewis's most famous classics come to life, I was amazed that it could come so close to being as good as the first production. Granted The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe was one of the best movies I have seen in some time for a family movie, this most definetely follows right behind it. Prince Caspian was very well done. Even though it was a bit long it was worth every minute to watch and not cut any of it. 5 stars earned for sure! Will The Magician's Nephew be next or The Horse and His Boy? Who knows it might not be either one, it could be one of his others. If it is I am sure it will be done just as good as these were. And I will be waiting to see it when it arrives at the theatre.

No. It's not the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, but C. S. Lewis never meant it to be. This book was meant to describe other aspects of the Christian life. It is dark and violent, but filled with hope and assurance that in the midst of war we are not alone.
Changes from the book worked pretty well in the movie. The special effects were mostly superb, with a scene or two that needed a bit more work. Acting was very good. Caspian was a little underplayed.
I was pleased that there were none of the typical Hollywood pet political/cocial themes overtly woven in.
My only complaint with the film, and one that Lewis didn't make in his novel- More Aslan, more Aslan, more Aslan!

I truly enjoyed this movie to it's end. Even though there were some additional plots and twisted plots from the book, it was still so well done that it flowed beautifully. I saw it twice the opening weekend and the second time was even better. For me, the book is my favorite in the series and this movie will be my favorite for the movie series. Bravo!

This was a fun, enjoyable adventure film that had something for every member of the family. Having read the book, the differences were notable but not disruptive to the viewing pleasure. Read - the changes to adapt the story to a movie were not distracting or irritating. There were adventure and battle scenes that were added that were slightly scarey to my 8 year old daughter but not too bad. I had read a secular review that was lukewarm to the movie after hearing a Christian reviewer that loved it. After seeing the film, it is clear to me that the secular reviewer didn't have an idea about the basic story and his complaints stemmed from his lack of research and understanding. This is a must see for the entire family.

This movie kept pretty close to the original story, a few variances, but Andrew Adamson, Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media were perfect choices for the production of C.S. Lewis' masterpiece! Awesome cinematography, special effects, and acting tied this movie together to create what should be an academy award winner in several categories.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It stood on its own merits and doesn't need to be compared to the first release. The characters were fun and I enjoyed Caspian. The fight scene, however, did seem to remind me of Lord of the Rings' battles. It depicts how we still need to believe in order to see God. I recommend this movie for everyone. I already look forward to seeing the next movie of Narnia. I enjoyed reading the books and am now enjoying the movies.

Although the pacing of this 2nd Narnia movie is slower than the first outing it is still a great family film. There is a lot more implied violence in this movie compared to the first but it is still handled in a way that won't frighten the younger viewers. The FX are great and the acting is strong from the young cast - just wish the story had more magic and Narnians.

The movie does keep much of the adventure of Narnia alive. I very much enjoyed this technically excellent tribute to the Prince Caspian book in the Chronicals of Narnia. Reapacheep is very well done. And, we learn why the Telemarine's should rightly fear trees.
However, some favorite scenes from the book are lost. In this case, alertations in time line of Aslan's actions leaves much good left on the table. Some favorite moments of faithfulness, dispair, recovery and renewal are omitted.
I truly hope they do each of the Chronical books. As a fan, I wish them success for it is hard to edit the original and be half as good.

This movie is far more violent than the the first Narnia. This movie seems to be trying to attact an older crowd. My 21 year old really enjoyed it but my 8, 10, and 12 year olds were jumping at alot of the scenes. They did enjoy seeing the characters return from The Witches and the Wardrobe. It seemed to be all about war and there didn't seem to be a clear meaning to the story, as in the first one.

First off, I don't know how to review the movie for people who haven't read the book - I've read the series to each of my four kids so the stories are pretty well stuck in my head. But this movie, like the first, constantly amazed me, not so much with what they had to take out, but all the emotional and visual impact that the filmmakers put in. For instance Peter, who's frankly a sort of blank in the books, comes alive here as a conflicted, uncertain, very teenage boy who finds his courage at just the right moment. And the political situation in Telmar, which is an important plot point, actually gets more attention here than in the book.
Unfortunately, that loving attention to politics is part of what's wrong with the movie - there are incredible, gut-wrenching fight scenes (again, more - and gorier - than there were in the book), but these are punctuation marks in lots of brooding, and talking, and plotting, and scheming... my younger kids frankly squirmed through a lot of the "alliance forming" and "what do we do next?"-ing, making the next battle scene something of a relief.
Some humor with the dwarves - an excellent way to lighten up the mood - and Aslan's final triumphant appearance got my kids really into the movie. The next, "Voyage of the Dawn Treader", should be even more enjoyable.
A quick note - I don't honestly recall how the Telmarines were portrayed in the books (Lewis' critics usually focus on a different culture, the Calormenes, when they accuse him of racism), but this movie seemed to bend over backwards to present the Telmarines as swarthy, bearded types with thick Middle Eastern accents. The problem is the bad guys could've been portrayed as Norwegians and had the same menace... not sure why the filmmakers went this way.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I have to say that this movie was just spectacular. Lots of action and excitement for the whole family.
I would say it's probably not the best movie for kids under 8 as it does have a little more complex storyline and some battle scenes.

Overall, this story as purely a movie alone was enjoyable. However, if you are a true C.S. Lewis fan, you will probably be a little disappointed by the changes in the plot lines and character development. The movie still encompasses a lot of Lewis' rich symbolism, and can be a great teaching tool!

It's been a while since I've read the book, but my wife said the movie strayed a bit from the original story. Still, this sequel was very intense, and held interest well. We were nervous about our younger kids, but since we had listened to the Focus audio version, they had no problems at all. I still liked the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe better, but my favorite has always been Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I can't WAIT for them to make that one next!

Usually, sequals are rather sketchy at best. Even though this one by some accounts isn't really a sequal, I think it does a great job of continuing the story.
The action scenes were incredible, graphic enough to catch an adults attention, yet not nearly so bad as to give tweens/young teens nightmare issues.
The end left it obvious there was more to come, which I don't mind so much.
