If you really enjoyed the first don't get your hopes up on this one. My children (10 and 5) really enjoyed the first one and ended up falling asleep during this one. The special effects are okay however the story line seems like a straight rip from lord of the rings. Overall, okay for my husband and I but not so good for the kids. If I had to do all over, I'd wait till the DVD came out.

I was so excited to see the movie I bought tickets early and went the night it opened here. Now that I spent the money on tickets, drinks, and popcorn I wish I would have waited to rent it. I love the Narnia series and the first movie was fantastic! This one, was ehhh not bad... It didn't capture attention or interest as much as the first movie. The worst part however was that it didn't flow very well, parts were confusing or not explained well. I still have faith in the Narnia series... better luck next time!

Being a single parent of a 10 year old, I see a lot of kids' movies. It's always nice when it's enjoyable for me, as well as my son. The books were great and the movies have been great, as well. Even if the story wasn't interesting, this movie was so beautiful to watch it wouldn't have mattered. It is very obvious that great attention to detail was given by writers, producers and directors. It has, however, been advertised as a "great movie for all" but, I think, it was pretty intense for anyone under 7 or 8.

Overall a good movie. If you've read the books, you'll notice that this one doesn't follow them as closely as The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe did. Great scenery, costuming and CGI. Although the movie is rated PG, I'd say it's borderline PG-13 due to its graphic scenes. Still, definitely worth seeing!

I saw Prince Caspian (for short) the first time it came out at 12:01am. Needless to say, I was tired especially sense I had just gotten off work an hour prior. In the beginning of the movie I nodded off a couple times but then my friend I was with woke me up the last time and I pushed myself to stay awake at first. And before I knew it the movie was the only thing keeping me awake; I didn't have to try by any means! The movie --when I was fully awake-- was AMAZING!! I'm one to make comments throughout the movie, ya know kinda like interaction only the actors don't respond but the people watching the movie do... sometimes they get... agitated? But in Chronicles of Narnia: the Prince Caspian, nearly EVERYONE was being "interactive". It was so good I'd see it over and over again. Although this one did have more fighting and "violence" that I'm not to sure younger kids would enjoy, It is very much so a family movie. And I loved it!! :) I purchased my tickets at MovieTickets. com so I was sure to get in. I wasn't to positive of how many people were going to this showing so my friend and I got there at about 11:20 and we were the only ones in there for like 20 minutes (irrelevant) then people started gradually flooding in the closer it got to showtime! Before the movie started the theatre was packed!

The child stars have grown a bit and as such the acting has grown as well. Also the editors seemed to learn from some of the misses of the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and tightened this one up a bit. Even at 2 hours and 20 minutes there were no dragging moments. Thoroughly enjoyable!

The difference between this entry in the Narnia series and its predecessor came with the opening scenes. This was not the story of four English schoolchildren taking a magical journey. It was a story of kings and successions, of murder and betrayal, of pride and genocide.
Normally, I would be all for such a tale. "Lord of the Rings" is one, and a successful one at that. But "Prince Caspian" felt hollow, at least in comparison.
The epic battle scenes were unnecessarily protracted, and the character development in-between often abbreviated. Edmund showed the most depth--a surprise, given that of all four Pevensie children, he probably got the least screentime. The blossoming romance between Susan and Caspian was tacked on at the end, although it was successfully played for laughs by Lucy at one point.
In general, the story took too long to tell us what we already know--the bad guys are bad, the good guys are good--without more than touching on the truly interesting subjects. I'd have loved a story arc for each of the Pevensie children, but all we really got was Peter's growing realization that he wasn't the High King anymore.
As the series goes on, there will be less emphasis on characters from the "real world," and more emphasis on the fantasy setting. (If they follow the source material, that is.) That's a shame, because it was the connection to our world that made Narnia so special in the first place.

There is just something really wholesome about C.S. Lewis's story lines. Liked it a lot--there did seem to be some missing elements but it was definitely still worth seeing

Although the book of the same name is not the most exciting in the series it runs true to form of a followup novel; a deeper story line with more history and some sort of epiphany experienced by the main characters. Disney did a more than admirable job of capturing these qualities that C.S. Lewis went through the trouble of imbuing his storyline and characters with. This being said there were a few slower movements throughout the film which was more than compensated for by the fine acting skills of the entire cast. Well Done!!!

I took my 8-year-old daughter to see this movie. She had already seen the first one, and she was excited to see the second. Since she was younger when the first movie came out, we waited for DVD so I could preview the movie before she saw it. I wish I would have done the same with this movie, as it was a little too long (and it didn't help that the theater was FREEZING!) and it's just not my favorite series. My daughter liked it, however, she did not rave about it.

For those who want to continue the imagination train on the Narnia tracks, this vehicle is worth watching. Most of the special effects have been traded for costumes and the storyline only vaguely resembles the book, but I would still recommend the Narnia readers to enjoy without the critic's hat. The plot is interesting but the pace is very slow...lt is much like watching the entire superbowl in slow motion. It never really speeds up for more than a minute at a time. Costumes are bold and the water scene creative. The acting is about what you would expect from a foreign sequal. If you haven't read the book, you may not get the entire movie. If you have read the book, you will be disappointed that so much was left out. So just think of it as a teaser to get people to read the book. Go see it, but don't get your hopes up for a blockbuster like the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

I loved the growing romance between Susan and Prince Caspian.... although it was pretty predictible how they would part at the end of the movie. I wasn't that impressed with Peter's role as much as I was with him in the first. Edmond (sp?) was amazing in this film! I loved him!! He (and Lucy) would be the reasons for me going to see the movie again. I also LOVED the battle scenes! I'm just a war-type of girl! you should definitely go see it if you haven't! who cares what the critics say about it......

I grew up watching the BBC Narnia and I loved them, so when I heard that they where going to make the first book I was really happy. But when they made the forth book into a movie I was upset about them not going back and doing the first book, or doing the third book. But with that out the movie was awesome and I would go and see it every day if I could. I thought that they got the point of the book across really well. There where parts that where changed, and some that where left out, some where added, most where left alone. But if you think about it a movie can’t be exactly like a book or it would be weird.

I was looking forward to seeing this movie but have to admit that I came away disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high but there just seemed to be battle after battle and no depth to the film. It would have helped to either see more of the kids in England before they returned to Narnia, a little more of the history of what had happened in Narnia or some depth to the character of Prince Caspian. AND where was the magic that was in the first film ?? I actually found it boring at times, my grandson fell asleep and he was really looking forward to it and loved the first film. Too bad.

Hmm not too difficult to explain here - dark due to the themes of betryal, revenge, anger, fear, evil temptation and the sense of loss and frustration.
Sexy - gee how difficult is that? Dark haired, smoldering Prince Caspian, contrasted with the fair headed Prince William look alike in High King Peter and the budding heaving bosom and long coy stares of the almost woman Queen Susan.
Scenery and locations were absolutely gorgeous (not biased here *wink*). Will be interesting to see if they do Voyage of Dawntreader and if they stay true-ish to the books.
and yes, i do confess to tearing up at the end - but i like those themes of honor, and self-sacrifice

The second in a series often falls short of the first. The expectations are set high. This movie was by far one of the best I have seen at making the second movie stand out. The characters are well played and has a great story. Unfortunately I believe this one depends heavily on knowing the story from the first movie. The lore of Narnia is not touched on very much in this movie. Overall a great watch. I look forward to more!

If you are a Lewis fan and have not seen this movie yet...you are so missing out. GO SEE IT! It doesn't follow the book exactly but then again what movie ever does? Yet this movie captures the excitment, the adventure, the suspense, and the mythology of the book. It was very well done and I hope if you haven't seen it yet that you get the opportunity to. The whole experiance was mesmerizing! its like you actually were in Narnia. The battles sequnces are amazing and the added hollywood twists are pretty interesting but fit wonderfully. Also what added to the experiance was that this Movie released on my little brother's birthday. He was thrilled with it and it really made his day special. Well Happy Movie-Going! P.S. I've not read the Book, so I'm not able to make any comparisons or comments in that type of regard. As just a movie, this does a good job of involving the viewer in the pain and anguish of Narnia in the aftermath of invasion. There are a couple spots where more action would have helped move it along, but the gaps aren't detracting.

What a wonderful movie! Much more involved and expanded than the book. Just as in the first movie, I loved the music and the characters. For all of us, it's time to travel back to Narnia!

This movie was awesome. Endearing, beautiful to the eyes and nail-biting at times are the descriptions I would use to describe this movie. We also enjoyed all the parallels to the biblical story of Moses as he lead Jesus' people out of bondage to the promised land. Even as closely related as the river (or sea) swallowing the evil army away. As far as Aslan not appearing very much as several people have mentioned. God appeared to people less in the Bible as time went on. In the story of Moses he appeared on the mountained to give guidance as he did with Lucy (who I believe is a representation for faithfulness) and then he came to the physical aid of the people when they had shown they were truly worthy of his help. Each one ot the children represent some characteristic of the Christian Faith as it would be in another world in another place and time. I think the main thing we can take from the Narnia Series as C.S. Lewis was trying to tell us is that Christians were meant to be wariors of our faith; not meek, timid and to be hidden away in a closet.

I think that this movie was great. My 10 year old and my 5 year old were both engrossed in it throughout the entire film. My five year old did have some questions and didn't follow the story line well. My husband, 10 year old daughter and I all loved it and thought is was very entertaining. I do wish they went into the history a little more, but they still touch on it enough for you to understand what is going on. Even though it was almost 2 and a half hours, it didn't seem long enough. It leaves you wanting more.

Though not as good as the first it was well worth sitting through the first (somewhat boring) half hour to get to the almost non stop action thereafter. I think it would have been better if the White Witch would have had more of a role. I thought that this time around the older Kings and Queens would have been not as seemingly magical but I was wrong. They were still fun to watch and their emotional attachment to the story seemed more believable this time. All in all I would definitely recommend this to all.

The story is horrible, the sequence of events makes you chase your own predictions trying to find one that makes reason "at least when it comes to a story". Graphics are excellent, random choice of characters, stuffed with events without any flow of the story. Overall the story due to stuffing events and characters is confusing. Who is teh hero? Prince Caspian "as teh title" or Lucy "the saviour" or King Peter .... very confusing.

Special effects are good and the movie flowed well. Acting was ok. I wish the family behind us had seen the first movie though since it was important to know what was going on.
